I haven't agreed with those big name movie critics in a very longtime. I don't even bother to check reviews anymore. I rather get opinions from friends & family, whose opinions I respect and trust. They're the movie goers who are not being paid and forced to follow someone else's idea of "censorship and political correctness". I think it's important to check a movie out for yourself if you are really curious to know how good it is. But this movie is by far the greatest "CGI" I have ever seen. And I am so happy that someone finally decided to bring Transformers out of the cartoons and comic books and into live action film. And I'm especially thankful for Michael Bay and Dream Works for not using big rubber suits..

THANK PRIMUS!!! But think about it, if Michael Bay hadn't created these two movies (even with the bits that people don't agree with) who else would have brought us Transformers like this? Is there anyone else in Hollywood who would have worked their ass off to bring us these two GREAT movies? And the CGI was never poopy or low budget. Sure you may want less profanity, more characterization, authentic G1 themes and mannerisms, but OMG... look how much the fans have been given! I don't think any one else was willing to create Transformers at this scale. And if they did, would the Transformers be presented as well as they are with these two movies? I thank Michael Bay for all of his hard work and dedication to bringing back our Transformers! :APPLAUSE:

Hate to say it, but I think many of the critics are on to something here.

ROTF was less a movie than it was a collection of beautifully rendered, awesomely choreographed action sequences held together by a convoluted and internally-inconsistent plot and one-dimensional characterizations. This didn't really dampen my experience because all I really wanted from the film was awesome robot-on-robot violence, which the film delivered in spades.

Let's face it folks, that's all most of us wanted from this film. It didn't matter all that much if the plot made much sense or not. On the other hand, would tighter plotting have made the film more enjoyable? I bet it would have.

I think Jin's criticism of movie critics as a whole would hold up if movie critics as a whole did consistently and across-the-board give poor ratings to all comic-book-type films, but they don't... look at the generally high ratings for The Dark Knight and Iron Man, to name two recent examples (both films are currently pulling over 90% at Rotten Tomatoes, while ROTF is hovering around 21%).

Incidentally, I found myself in an odd position. Bay's first Transformers is probably a better film overall, but I liked Revenge of the Fallen more. Weird.

The Dark Knight and Iron Man had a lot of dialog where the characters talked about their feeling and blah blah blah. It makes for an emotional experience, but I don't want to see Starscream whining over the abuse Megatron puts him through.

I see what your saying but my problme with the critics is they are being closed minded on the subject. You gotta watch these movies with an open mind and ask yourself "is this thing giving my fix of robot on robot deathmatches?" but instead the critics are going in expecting something like "The Dark Knight". The Dark Knight is indeed one of my favorite movies, and it works great as a Batman movie, but if you think about the whole Dark knight movie, how much action is there? Not a whole lot, but it works and it works brilliantly for a Batman movie.

Now apply the formula to a Transformers movie... what would you get? A dull, boring, piece of crap. There is no way to make a Transformers movie with lots of drama and character development. Do we want long scenes of Optimus Prime and the autobots talking about how they are going to catch Megatron and the decepticons and kill them, or do we want them to just go beat the crap out of eachother?

Hogwash. There would be plenty of time for character development in this film if Bay had replaced even half of the penis and testicle jokes with it. They way I figure it, the fight scenes took up, at most, 45 minutes. That leaves almost two hours for the movie to have a rational plot and character development....

Actually, that's one of the more thought out rebuttals to the critics reviews I've read. Kudos to you for not saying that the female critics need to get laid.

Other than that, you still come off as a delusional and overly verbose windbag.

According to RT, TF1 has a 68% fresh rating. Not bad, but definitely more than I would've given it after I saw it. Watchmen, one of those new fangled super-hero films, has a 42% fresh rating. And I personally loved that film. Iron Man, which I have yet to see myself, has a 92% fresh rating. Hmmm...that's a pretty varied approval rating on films that are the choice of the Pepsi generation coming from a bunch of old fogies that don't know anything about films other than "Casablanca".

TF:ROTF has a 19% fresh rating from the Top Critics. They called the movie on the flaws they saw, not some imagined bias against "teh new blood". Soooo what? You get offended and have to type out a rant calling for change because you're in love with a bad film? Think about that. Seriously.

Wait a minute...they gave Kung Pow!, one of my favorite bad films, a fresh rating of 00%? ¡VIVA LA REVOLUCION!

I just breezed through this so forgive me if I'm just repeating something that has allready been said.

I think that the job of a critic is to evaluate a film's success as a work of art. And personaly, in that regard, they are right to snub RotF. It is a fun and enjoyable film, and the CGI work was truely breath taking, but in regards to acting, and charater and story, and such it is rather lacking.

It is the role of the general audiance, namely us, to determine a film's validity as entertainment. And in this catagory, RotF succedes admirably.

I disagree with Officer Prowl on bad acting and crass humor. I think that the acting was solid and consistent with the first one (except Megan Fox who has no acting talent imo, and was there for eye candy)and I also think that the humor was great and well-timed. The bit in the museum cracks me up.

As for poor character development, I think Bay intended this movie to be seen as a sequel, a direct continuation to the first one. Because of that, there is no need for character development because it has already been established on the first movie. Though I am disappointed due to the fact that Lennox and Epps were not given much time to show their acting skills which they did, very nicely I might add, on the first one.

Weak plot? What do you expect? This is a Transformers movie, not Gone With the Freakin' Wind. Action movies are not known to have strong plots because with all that action, people won't have much time to think about the plot, which is why action movies tend to use linear story progression which makes the plot seems simple. Also, due to the fact that this is a TF movie, we need to put into consideration that not all people know the story of G1 or Armada or whatever. Making the plot too complex will only confuse the audience. I'm willing to bet that if Bay used a complex and well plotted storyline based on the TF lore, those critics won't understand what they're watching.

I have been seeing this excuse alot. So If all we really want to see is giant robots fighting why is this movie so long?

Maybe transformers 3 will be 36 minutes of transformers in a tag team match for the intergalactic championship belt.
Sorry, the belt thing may be a bit too much story, Just let em fight!

I know if they had just spliced all the fight scenes together with nothing else, my enjoyment of the movie would have increased by a hell of alot.
