Not even six months ago. I dont understand why a person would pay so much for a fig, that is going to far less than that when it comes out.

anybody else want to comment on the fact that seller's is the posessive form of seller not an abreviation for seller is...now read the title again

Hi, this is my first post. I've finally made the foray into the TF forums (i've been on a lot of SW forum in the past few yrs) Anyway, these prices are ridiculous. Yesterday I bought a deluxe Bumblebee at a local LA target for $10. It's pretty awesome. LMK if you want to see a pic of it.

The guy is a scalper or snake as like to call them. The idea a lot of these ebay dealers have is to get the figures as soon as possible so they can sell them for the highest prices before they start showing up at mass retail. The thing is people will pay the extra money, but I'm not one of those people. I prefer to find the figures on my own.

Defiently a exception. Though the galleries keep making me drool. I can however wait for the toys to come out for retail.

That scalper might get those prices from people who can't wait two or three weeks for the toys to hit retail. Most sane collectors are going to wait until June.

Or in Ryan's case, he'll get them and post pics to make us drool.

That's been my thought the entire time. Why bother paying so much for a prototype or a finished test shot when in a month these will be falling off shelves and burying people in their plenty, all for $20 a piece? $80 for a figure that soon will be a fraction of that? Nuts.

Funny thing is that I could understand paying those prices if you know the figure is going to be rare before hand. Like for example Alt. Swerve or Camshaft. But if you know there are going to be plenty then just wait.

Ryan is the exception to the rule though. I always wondered though, do the sites that advertise here give you free figures in addition to what they pay you?

As a whole a lot of seller on ebay are morons anymore.

Especially with their shipping prices.

H&ll Yeah I would. However, I don't have a problem with scalpers. It's simple capitalism, If someone wants it badly enough, they'll pay for it. If not, then the seller will drop the price (eventually).

Hell no. They are going to be in stores in a matter of weeks. SoThere is no reason to by a new one now for 3 Times The price.

Yes. But nothing wrong with it. It's not your fault people are either stupid or impatient.

It depends though. Some of these people may not have access to the stores that sell the toys. I know that most of the stores in my immediate area tend to be VERY slow in regards to getting toys out that you cannot even besure they will have them.

I use ebay, for items that I cannot typically get easily. Ie attacktix. I want one just one figure and I am not about to buy a half dozen blind boxes to get them. I'll pay a little more and get what I want.

But as for auctions, I usually shop around until I see one that I want at the price I would prefer then go in and sniper it in teh last 15 seconds
