Welcome to the General Discussion area where just about anything goes! This area is designed to discuss all matters and does not necessarily have to be Transformers related. Please keep topics relevant.

Weapon: Stinger Missile
Shrek 3 (not the series, just #3). Robots. James Bond (although the last couple of them were pretty good. Still like Sean Connery, though.) Harry Potter. Batman (older series, haven't seen the newer one yet). A Christmas Story (it lost its appeal for me.) Lord of the Rings. AvP2. Battleship Potemka.

And I'll gouge my eyes out if somebody makes me watch It's a Wonderful Life one... more... time.

Not movies, but Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel, Babylon 5, any Star Trek, Grey's Anatomy, Six Feet Under (although I could watch it and liked it, just not enough to follow it), or Terminator: the Sarah Conner Chronicles. Never could get into those.

There are bound to be tons more.

Titanic was boring, and not at all deserving of all the Academy Awards it won.

Harry Potter 3 was one film where I almost walked out, it was that bad.
Aussie films like "Picnic at Hanging Rock", and "Muriel's Wedding" are not the masterpieces people claim them to be.

But the two ones that always get a "are you serious?" are:
"Casablanca" and "The Castle".
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

There has only ever been ONE movie I've actually wanted to walk out of!! 40 days and 40 nights, the only reason I didnt' was cos I was in a small cinema and there was only one exit and I wasn't sitting any where near it!

I blame it all on my friend:

"Hey, Jeanette, want to see this movie, I hear its really cool - I even have free tickets".

But I did walk out of one of those stupid "Another Teen Movie" POS, same friend with free tickets took me to that too.

And don't get me started about that bloody stupid propagander flick "IF these walls could talk".
Something memorable here.

Oh yeah. Those Bourne movies. Didn't really like them at all. Somehow I got roped into seeing all three in the theaters, though. Are there any other books in this series?

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
Anything Bourne.
(Don't get me wrong, Damon was quite impressive in the role and the action sequences were top notch. The story was boring and plodded along.)

Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy.
(Will Ferrell is just absolutely unfunny when he tries to act. He was great on SNL when stupid was the key, but this movie was just terrible. Other than the cast singing Afternoon Delight, the rest of the film was a train wreck. It truly is a shame because the same guys worked on The 40 Year Old Virgin and even with all of the extremely tasteless humor (which I still found funny), it's a terrific film.)

Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
(Series. I could never get into it, not even once. I did, however, really enjoyed the crap out of the Kristy Swanson/Donald Sutherland film. I found it absolutely hilarious.)

Alien(s) (any incarnation, really.)
(Beyond the gore bothering me, these films just weren't my cup of tea. I understand why they work for the masses, but they just didn't hit any of the high points for me. If I wasn't grossed out, I was bored.)

TransFormers The Movie 1986.
(I bought the 2-Disc anniversary set for nostalgia and the special features. I hate the film itself. It's a ridiculous trainwreck of a mess. When I see the quality of TransFormers: Animated...I just can't believe they went for the easy route of mindless stupidity for big bucks. Glad it flopped like it did. I loved it as a kid, but hate it now. Goes to show that kids (at least in my generation) had a terrible time differentiating between actual entertainment and crap.)

Adam Sandler's early films.
(Happy Gilmore was so dumb that it had to come up some just to hit "decade old braindead cadaver" on the meter. Billy Madison just made me want to go homicidal on my TV. It's odd...Big Daddy, The Wedding Singer, Bulletproof, etc proved he could be funny and act and not be a complete moron. He really should strive for that more often.)

The Lord OF The Rings.
(I haven't been that bored in quite some time. Heck, I was able to get through a Harry Potter film, and I couldn't even sit through this dreck. Sure, it's a literary masterpiece and it's loved by a huge following, but the whole thing just SUCKS to me. I care nothing about the characters, it plods along, and it's one of the only movie franchises in recent history that was able to make me FALL ASLEEP.)

Harry Potter.
(Another borefest. A friend of mine talked me into watching one of the movies with her (that's 2.5 hours of my life that I won't be able to get back.) and I regret every second of it. It was absolutely draining to me. I was sapped of all my energy by the time it was over. I had a terrible time driving home. I had enough energy left to crawl into bed and fall asleep. I hated it that bad.)

I could go on and on, but there's so many movies (and franchises) that I hate, that I can't even remember all of them offhand.

Oh, one more. The Incredibles.
(Everyone seemed to love this film and raved about it. I found it to be terrible and I can't even watch it. It was one of the reasons I had hated Disney with a passion, but thanks to movies like Monsters Inc, Cars and the absolutely incredible Enchanted...Disney's okay with me. Especially after Enchanted. A great film. Don't miss it.)

Are you trying to tell me you don't like "Ghostbusters", "The Blues Brothers", "Animal House", "Wayne's World", or, arguably, "The Deer Hunter" and "Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead"?
Wow. :P

Down the list:

Ghostbusters: no. Did not like it.

Blues Brothers: not bad. The cast of BILLIONS of other great actors saved it from total fail in the eyes of Pyro.

Animal House: Saw part of it. Didn't bother with the rest.

Wayne's World: Pure crap.

The Deer Hunter: Never bothered.

Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead: Never even heard of it.

Is Pyro overly picky regarding movies? YES.

EDIT: I forgot to list the Matrix movies. Thought they ALL sucked. They got worse from one to the next, the last one sucked so bad I was unaware a movie could suck that bad and not spontaneously combust!

The American Pie series, Scary movie sereies, matrix series, harry potter (may not count since a lot of people hate them too)... the list could go on but that's all I can think of at this time. That and I haven't been seeing many new movies because most of them look like total suck.

Weapon: Fusion Cannon
Not the biggest fan of Star Trek 4. 6 is by far my favorite.

Citizen Kane disappointed me.

Casablanca did as well.

Hated Cloverfield with a passion bordering on fanticism.

Return of the King. The movie that just would not end.

Godfather series, Scarface or Goodfellas overrated. Pacino's a hack.

Movies I like (to get the opposing side)

Princess Bride (entertaining, Crystal annoys but is overshadowed)

Field of Dreams (just a good story and the best thing Costner's done)

Goonies (I'm an 80s kid)

Christmas Story (so much subtle humor and sarcasm)

Lonesome Dove (love the book even more, my favorite western, in fact the only western I like)

Ferris Bueller (again with the 80's)

Quiet Man (my wife says it' because of how John Wayne treats Maureen O'Hara, I just find it funny; Wayne and O'Hara have great chemistry)

A Few Good Men (by far my favorite Cruise movie)

Big Trouble in Little China (80s strike 3)

I'm an American, and I get it, and enjoy it.

It's supposed to be pointless, off the wall, obscure humor.

The troupe made jokes and wrote funny ideas that made *them* laugh, but their talent is so great that we get the joke and 9 times out of 10, we're laughing along with them.

You throw in the political, religious, everyday things satire, and then you get Monty Python.

When John Cleese hosted SNL back in 2000 or so, Michael Palin joined him for the parrot skit. Most of the time, the audience barely chuckled. I was about in tears. Then they changed the ending to them being Gay to appease the audience.... and everyone cheered. I didn't. They ruined a perfectly good joke, just to please an audience too young to even know who they are. How sad is that?

Oh and before anyone says "You're reading too deep into it", no. I realize, that the core part of MPs "mission" was to laugh at and with life, we were just along for the ride.

Peter Jackson's King Kong. My friend was telling me how it was great after they got to the island, but I think that's when the movie started going downhill. My problem with the movie is there is way to much meaningless action, you never get a chance to really "breathe", and they start killing off sub-characters that were pretty underdeveloped anyway. Also, I didn't like Kong himself. Really hard to root for the big guy because he was as much a villain as a he was a victim. It was also a bit too long.

Also, I must point out that I love giant monster movies, and that I thought Godzilla '98 was a fun movie, even though it technically wasn't Godzilla on screen.

Something about Marry. I didn't hate it but it wasn't as "awesome" as all my friends said it was. The only bright spot was Harland Williams.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005558/

The problem is, I can't stand Ben Stiller. I also disliked Meet the Parents. I didn't even watch Meet the Faukers.

I also think Shrek is average at best. :?
