What I mean? When a Transformers transform, everything it is made of is still there. The overall weigh of the robot should be the same of it's alternate form. Also, there's a limit of how much volume change happening.

The worst offender is of course, the G1 original series:

Recent offender is Arcee in the all new, Animated/Bay hybrid, "Transformers: Prime". Why when Arcee is in robot mode, one of her leg alone is as big as she should normally be? As far as I know, A bike cannot become a robot big like a truck would be.

So, what do you think about all these illogical size and weigh changes? Why they keep doing the same mistakes even with the 2010-2011 series?

Except the movie, they are cartoons aimed at children. Let's not over-think it.

But even then, the story take itself seriously. It's not Loony Tunes, for crying out loud. And pointing something that squarely "in your face" is not over-thinking.

Well, Prime hasn't done this yet. Except in the first episode, when Arcee transforms in the alley she gets noticiably bigger in robot mode.

Of course, I don't mean to take a measuring tape and a scale and analise the robots data like some hopeless nerd.

It's just that since my young childhood, when I saw the original series on TV, that was something I noticed right away.

If there would be a average sized Transformer that would change into a bus, I'm betting a buck that 30 Transformers the size of Optimus would ride in like nothing.

Oh lololololololol... Oh god oh god oh god.... Okay, okay, get this: I want... no, I request... no, I DEMAND that there's a Transformer who change into... A CLOWN CAR!!!! Buahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! OOoooohhh I'm too good!

I was only talking about the shows. I never gave a tought about the toys themselves. Reading the Transformer Wiki page, I found this gem:

Even then, only grains of sand could be somewhat in scale. And that is only if the grains of sand represent huge TF like Devastator, Omega Supreme, Tripticon, and FortMax.

I came to notice one thing about a very official law for the scale in the 1980's cartoon. ALL TF from this universe SHRINK dramatically when they go to robot mode. In vehicle or alt mode, they go to their normal size.

The master of this technique is Astrotrain. In robot mode, he's the same size as everybody else. But even is train mode, he's big enough so there's plenty of room for everyone to climb on board. EVEN DEVASTATOR WAS ABLE TO BE STANDING UP INSIDE!!! (See the 1986 movie. On a side note, lol @ Jazz's evil twin getting killed)

Astrotrain just folds up REAAAAAALY well. His weight exceeds that of Omega Supreme. I know because I personallt weighed them back in 1985.

IIRC, there was a Japanese source book that printed some size comparisons among the TFs. (Okay suspend your belief for a minute or so)

Reference the following:

Fortmax to Metroplex. Metroplex height just about reaches Fortmax's knees(just like the toy more or less). If that is the case, then a rough estimate for a gestalt would be the size of Metroplex's fists. And a Commander sized Autobot (Optimus Prime for example)would be the size of a gestalt's hand.

I'm not touching what goes on inside Cosmos,Astrotrain and Omega Supreme's vehicle modes. #-o
