Whoo-Hoo...a post relating to this thread! :P So clearly (unless I'm wrong) with the newer Silverbolt you had zero reason to keep Universe SB yes?

I think it's a great mold too. I got Skyjack (aka Skyfall) and Darkwing both with their 3rd Party upgrades looking so epic! :VEHI:

I wonder if CW Onslaught will have the same effect on Universe Onslaught.

potentially an even bigger one? as while Universe Silverbolt was a pretty good match for the G1 release in terms of bot mode and alt mode, Universe Onslaught's a pretty big shift from the original G1 design....

But that just may be why I keep him. He might be different enough to remain enjoyable. I still own Universe 2.0 Powerglide as well as CW Powerglide. He makes a great mini-me.

If they ever decide to redo Seaspray, I would absolutely keep the ROTF one.

I don't have it yet, since I am waiting on the Takara release, but I feel like once I do have the new Silverbolt, my Universe one will be going into storage. Yet, oddly, even though I do consider my Asian Exclusive Onslaught to be my collection's primary Onslaught, I do still have my Universe Onslaught kicking around as well.

Even though I do still like the Universe figures, though, I just don't have the room on my shelves to keep out Universe Silverbolt, Classics Jetfire, or Universe Powerglide. But, speaking of Powerglide...

See I love how 3rd Party groups have come and altered certain figures allowing myself to enjoy and keep certain molds like Universe Skyjack, Darkwing, and Takara Onslaught.

Igear Seaspray is my classics but if HasTak does right and re-releases then so long Igear.

The same way people including myself wanted to see deluxe Galvatron a voyager instead and rightly so, Powerglide was so wrong for ME as a voyager. And I remember buying the Hasbro version on a whim then shortly after selling him.

I'm counting the days until Takara Powerglide is available.

So Yotsuyasan, you have a various/alternate universe for your classics? Do you have no Classics Combaticons with Onslaught representation :-? :VEHI:

I basically have two* Transformers collections. One is my Optimus Prime collection, which consists of a bunch of Optimus Primes. I believe this is the most recent photo of it that I have:

Image

If I had twice the room for Optimus Primes, I also have boxed up and in storage a shelf's worth of Optimus Primes from the first three Bay films, and boxed up long enough ago that they're still in my parent's basement is a box of Primes from Car Robots/Robots in Disguise, the Armada Trilogy, and Animated.

Classics Prime is conspicuously absent because he is in my other collection, which is the Classics collection. That has, currently, about seven or eight shelves worth of space... and I don't have much more room! So I've been having to get creative, or pack away redundant characters, hence why I don't have the Classics Jetfire or the Universe Powerglide out anymore, and why I anticipate doing the same with Universe Silverbolt.

The shelf that Universe Onslaught lives on, though, still has some extra room. Hence why he gets to stay out a little longer. But my main Onslaught is the Takara Asian Exclusive one, along with the Asian Exclusive Brawl and Vortex, and Fansproject's third party figures for Swindle and Blast Off.

And right now I have my Decepticon Gestalt shelf disassembled, so they're chilling out together in their individual robot modes along with the Constructicons and Stunticons.

Image

(The third parties got there first with me for the Decepticon Gestalts, it seems. But I can't wait to get my hands on the Combiner Wars figures for the Autobot ones! Or any Decepticon ones beyond those three.)

* Well, I also have some Masterpiece, but other then Megatron, Soundwave (and minions), and Starscream hanging out on one shelf together, they aren't really grouped together as their own collection. My Optimus Primes are integrated into the Optimus Prime collection, Grimlock is hanging out with some Classics figures, and Rodimus Prime is just kind of doing his own thing.)

Erland wrote:I have also come to a point in my collection that I am now obtaining more then one of a specific character for my classics collection. I have already got rid of Classics Megatron but, I'm now on the fence about getting rid of Onslaught once the new CW Onslaught shows up. I don't know if I want to get rid of the Universe version, I love that mold but, I have no need for more than one Onslaught.

Typically, I would get rid any older version like Universe Powerglide, I had no issues removing him from my list of figures I wanted/searching for. (I have Stormcloud version) so I have no interest in the Universe version.

I would say, get rid of the older version unless you really like the figure like I'm doing with Onslaught. Now I just have to find a way to keep him in my collection, lol

My onslaught will now be IDW Grindcore (he does look a lot like Onslaught)
