Has anyone noticed that Fireflight has what looks like a combiner port on top of his vehicle mode? Maybe they're releasing a Superion.

I really like Magnus and Kickback ... but they won't replace their Fansproject counterparts in my collection. I'll get 'em just to have because they're cool.

Can't have too many insecticons. They are a plague. And that Magnus is pretty great for the character. Didn't work as well for prime.

I see what he means...there's a socket on the golden part about halfway down the vehicle mold which ISN'T there on Shockwave.

I can see Hasbro leaving a combination socket just in case they decide to release the others...or so that it can Scramble City onto Bruticus.

Oh, both are fantastic. No question.

But FP matches his other two brethren (if there were all three Insecticons .... I'd have a tougher choice). Plus FP is closer to the old G1 look that I like.

As for Magnus, people who couldn't afford City Commander finally have a great alternative. I mean, he looks sweet. BUT CC is pretty much everything I've ever wanted in Magnus. White Prime? Check. Armor donning? Check. Badass? Double check. Plus I sprung for the iGear, Perfect Effect and (just two days ago) Dr. Wu upgrade sets. A new Magnus would have to be made of platinum to get me to switch it out at this point.

But I'm still down for getting both. Make no mistake, I'm not knocking the official stuff here.

Oh! I thought that was where the 'wing' part of the sword pegged in, but now I see it's on the wrong side completely for that! Also, are there any pictures showing off a similar port on the elements of Bruticus?

Exactly. All of the current pictures look mistransformed. I'm sure once we have it in-hand, it'll look much cleaner in the altmode.

The movie line wasn't canceled for prime retail stores didn't want the last wave because they were over stocked with bumblebee,mudflap and skids. Even now with prime out there are still tons of left over dotm figures on pegs and you know why because collectors didn't want them not kids and the sooner hasbro realizes that the better their sales will be

Holy crap there are BBs everywhere! FE BBs, Prime BBs, DOTM BBs! it makes me sick seeing them all. Its just making it even harder for some poor collectors who aren't early enough to grab the good figures, and their punishment is a wall of BBs...

It certainly looks that way. But I'm still, I'm not convinced it's a "combiner port" at all, even if it's *not* on the gun. It looks like, on the Bruticus limbs, that there's a part that actually extends from the limb and attaches to the PCC-esque block on Onslaught.

Some observations (pardon if they've already been made):

Heh. The hilt of Magnus' sword is the same as Op's rifle. And Starscream looks to have ports on his forearms for the cannon to plug into when it's split.

Love that Kickback's crossbow forms his "clear" wings.

And Fireflight's hexagonal port on top of his gun barrel is reminiscent of Thunderwing's weapon ports under his wings. Probably not for combination, unfortunately.

All good observations. I suspect the port on Fireflight's sword is simply an alternate port for the sword's guard or something.

Ya that's because retail stores wanna stock up on them because when u ask a kid who is their favorite TF they say bee or prime. So stores think they should mostly stock the kids fav TF but the store and hasbro don't realize it's the collectors buying the TF. Kids buy beyblades and yu gi oh and monsunos and I know this for a fact I have a 5 year old son and a 10 year old son and all their friends don't give a crap about TFs they always have beyblades. When I drop my son off at school they sit there and trade beyblade parts. Also go to a store when their shipment comes in and look how much beyblade stuff comes in every time. I'm not one of the people who just says this I have kids with friends I'm always at stores hunting I'm friends with people that work in the toy departments I see what they get in. I dare anyone up on these messages boards to go to your local Walmart or target tru what ever and hang out in the toy isle for a couple hours on a busy day with out looking like a creeper lol and see what toys kids go for and what parents will buy them on just how much it cost a lot of parents won't spend $12 on a toy they think is just gonna get lost or broken. That's why beyblades are perfect you can get a single one for $5

Looks nothing like a combiner port just another mech tech like port that's all it is

Not a fan of Kickback and Sideswipe. Neither one looks that good to me.

Starscream is bought on sight. His gun looks like the new Scrapmaker chaingun from the game itself. That would go to Magnus.

The new OP mold actually looks better as Ultra Magnus, but they should have given him a hammer instead of a sword. Even so, He can trade with Starscream. Also bought on sight.

Fireflight doesn't look bad for being a Shockwave retool, but i'm getting Shockwave so I don't need him.

When you consider moving kickback out of the FoC Generations series and into TF Prime universe, it really works.

When you consider moving kickback out of the FoC Generations series and into TF Prime universe, it really works.

I guess the part that annoys me is that G1 Kickback was smooth, solid and subdued. It used a simple yet effective colour scheme and a distinctive silhouette.

This thing though is indistinct, loose and gaudy. There's no clear shape to it, it just looks like a mess. And pushing the colour balance from centering on black to centering on purple makes it look way too Beast era.

You've got to remember that the Insecticons in FoC are no more than drones that you are going to kill by the hundreds. They've simply just given it the name Kickback. They really might as well just called it Insecticon, but calling it Kickback might cause some to become more nostalgic and buy it.

Ah, I guess people are trying to fit this in as an actual "kickback" character figure. I am not.
To me, its another generic Insecticon (perhaps cloned from Kickback or whatever), and it works perfectly for that, given the IDW comics and their insecticons.
