This is depressing... Fireflight is one of the original Aerialbots from G1. He is supposed to be himself. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Fireflight_(G1)
For what it's worth, the new head does look a lot like him. Other than that, he can't look exactly like his G1 self. I mean it's not like Optimus looks more like his G1 self than ol' FF here. Besides, this form is obviously pre-Superion Fireflight. You could just be optimistic and say he gets reformatted later on.GreaserHHR wrote:This is depressing... Got to tell you, the individual Aerialbots are not very memorable. Aside from Sivlerbolt and Air Raid, I can't even pretend to remember the other 3 without looking them up. They basically just serve as being parts for Superion.
Doesn't help that he doesn't even share a color scheme with the original G1 character.

At least look on the bright side. He looks a lot more like G1 Fireflight than that Energon repaint.

It wouldn't be an official TF photo if something wasn't done wrong. I suspect at this point it's deliberate.
That is bizarre. It's like someone starts at hasbro and people harass them with wrong transformation instructions. Look at how the insecticon was transformed at botcon an right here
They do it on purpose so that we can't make a truly informed decision until we actually see one.
...oh. Sorry.GreaserHHR wrote:orangeitis wrote:For what it's worth, the new head does look a lot like him. Other than that, he can't look exactly like his G1 self. The "This is depressing" part was in reference to the other member's post. Not my dismay at the figure. I personally like that look on him. Makes him seem like a bad-a.

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.
Which is good, cause the cost is $14.99USD each.Spunky wrote:Shockwave, Starscream, Magnus must be bought... no matter the cost !

All I can remember when I think of Fireflight is that he had the attention span of a 2-year-old. Slingshot seemed like more of a douche from what I recall.
Just goes to show how hard it is to tell any of them apart, and by extension why I could care less about any one of them since they're so hard to identify with.

Silverbolt: Flyer, scared of flying.
Slingshot: Douche
Fireflight: ADHD
Air Raid: Leeroy Jenkins
Skydive: Bird nerd.

The past comments have driven this home: I'm willing to pay that price but not at the scale degradation. With masterpiece Optimus coming and so many tempting third party options on the horizon, I will have to be really blown away by in hand reviews to now justify them. I can say it is wonderful to go into the summer and be this critical of Transformer toys now that the movie line is over.

Well, we also don't know how big all of them are. Shockwave is about the size of the deluxes we're used to, while Jazz/Sideswipe are SIGNIFICANTLY smaller.

I keep hearing this as a rumor, do we finally have confirmation on this? I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if they are cut down...

Someone posted pictures of those three next to Generations WfC Megatron. ...It's really, REALLY noticable how much smaller Jazz/Sideswipe are.
Edit: Found 'em:
Shockwave, Jazz, and Optimus next to WfC Megatron
Something I didn't notice before, Optimus is also a good deal shorter. =_=

Ridiculous. If they raise the prices to keep them as is, we'll complain.
If they cut the figures down to keep prices low, we'll complain.
If they keep the figures small and raise the prices as we're being told they might, we have every right to complain.
Actually, no. I think it's our duty to complain, at that point.
Gearslide wrote: And I thought the economy was getting better? Why is it that even with smaller figures and less material used in packaging, Hasbro has to jack up the price?
