Manning gave me good enough of a game to win by like 1 point. Too bad the Giants didn't win.

Rapid fire returns....

Indy won. Wow. At least Peyton didn't throw for 300 yards so that's a positive for St. Louis.

Green Bay won. Wow. It's only Cleveland...it's like preseason football. So who's left for the Browns that can play QB? Is Bernie Kosar available?

Houston beat the Niners in one of the better games today...I'll give the Niners this: they fight to the end. On the downside, they are starting to tank their season. They NEED a winn next week if they want to keep pace with the Falcons.

Steelers derailed the Viking bandwagon big time. One thing Vikings fans need to remember is the Favre, though holding the TD record, also holds the interception record. Against a D like the Steelers, it was just a bad matchup. Steelers have rediscovered their running game too...the champs are seriously starting to look like a team that could repeat.

Patriots in England. How odd was that? Patriots beat the Bucs. How normal is that?

Chargers are also starting to pick up some steam. LT may be going downhill, but Darren Sproles may be their next big thing. Oh, and can someone tell KC that disguising themselves in different uniforms doesn't fool anyone; we know they are the Chiefs and that they suck...even with the state of Texas on their domes.

Bills beat Panthers...I'm really not exactly sure how. Carolina outgained the Bills and generally beat them all over the field. How Dick Jauron pulled that win out of his ass is beyond me.

Hey Raider fan! Looks like Jamarcus Russell isn't the answer! Neither is Tom Cable or Richard Seymour or dressing up like Darth Vader on HGH. Al Davis needs to just retire from personnel decisions. As long as he is in control, the Raiders will NEVER be good again. They certainly made Mark Sanchez look like Peyton Manning.

OKay, was anyone else seriously stunned by the Bears-Bengals game? I didn't see it coming. I knew the Bears are not a great team, but what the hell was that? Jerry Angelo better be looking for the Unemployment office soon. Ron Turner too. In fact, it is my opinion that both Turner brothers (Ron and Norv) need to be banned from coaching in the NFL. At least I have Ochocinco on my fantasy team...

Is any team in the league LESS PREDICTABLE than the Dallas Cowboys? What the heck was that? The Falcons are a dominant team...a top tier NFC team...and Dallas pounded em. How about them Cowboys? How about them giving me a migraine...pick a personality and stick with it please!

Arizona is starting to look impressive. Three straight wins on the road. Look out for Beanie Wells...if he has figured out how to hang on to the football, the Cards are going to be dangerous. On the other hand, the Giants shot themselves in the- dare I say it- leg (Thank you Plaxico Burress). They should have won that game but couldn't run the football for crap.

Finally, Miami and New Orleans. Wow. The Saints were down 24-3. I thought they had finally fallen to earth. Brees just looked bad. Miami was all over him. Then came the fumble and WHAM, another Saints win. At this point I am officially jumping on the Saints bandwagon and shouting at the top of my lungs..."WHO DAT!" What a remarkable performance! They have stumbled on the way to beat the Dolphins too...force them to throw the ball and get them out of that Wildcat. BTW, was I the only one who was surprised at Ricky Williams' speed? That 60+ yard TD run was just...wow. I hear things move slower when you are stoned...so maybe he was going that fast because to him it felt slow...

BTW, is anyone actually going to WATCH or CARE ABOUT the Washington-Philly game tomorrow?

On a side note, ESPN is about to go all-Yankees all-the-time. They won the pennant and are going to the Series. Thank God for Comcast Sports Net and the NHL network... 8)
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

I was glad to see the Cards beat the G-Men last night.

And things were tense down here as the Saints game unfolded. We were at Boo At The Zoo with the 501st Legion looking for people with radios or cellphones that were following the game..

When they won you heard EVERYONE in the zoo cheer.
It was amazing.
Not a sheeple.

The way the Saints have played the last few years, especially Brees, they need a Super Bowl berth, if not a win. I still say if they could have beaten the Bears in 06, they most likely would have beaten the Colts in the show.

Go Titans! Yay, 0-6.

Now the question comes: did Philly win it or did Washington lose it? If Washington lost it, I'd be concerned for the Eagles. Washington is very bad indeed and the Eagles didn't exactly follow up the loss to Oakland with an overwhelming performance.

I believe Washington lost it. They had I think 5 turnovers. Philly got 13 points off of those turnovers. And during one of their last drives, they couldn't get into the endzone when they were at like the 9 yr line. It was the 4th and Goal when Campbell tried to run it in while 6 yards away. If you looked at McNabb's numbers, they were horrible. I think he threw for under 200 yards and only completed 15 some passes. It was a very sloppy game for both teams, yet if the Skins didn't mess up big time on a few plays, they would have won the game. Randle El needs to just go. He can't return punts, and this has been known for atleast 2 years now.

I think I give up on football this year.

v.v

*edit* I found this. Pretty funny read.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=latulippe/091022&sportCat=nfl

Pittsburgh: America's crotch. Literally one of the worst cities on the planet. Full of toothless mountain people. Looks from above as if someone decided, "You know what I'm going to do? Cut out a huge chunk of one of the worst sections of Eastern Europe and drop it in the middle of Pennsylvanian Appalachia." At the end of the day, the Cleveland Browns suck, but at least we're not from Pittsburgh.

I also laughed at the Baltimore description.

Reason 6 made me fall off my bed from laughter.

6: No more Braylon Edwards. Ever

I didn't agree with his sentiments about Derek Anderson though. I think Brady Quinn is extremely overrated. At least Derek Anderson has had glimpses of brilliance.

I agree 100% about Brady Quinn. There's just something about players that are coming out of the Notre Dame program the last few years. They just aren't prepared to play at the pro level and overall aren't very good. I'm stunned that the school has let it go this long, but I suppose they can since they got a fat network deal. They made their money...to heck with the athletes. Anyone wanna bet that they don't get a re-up on that contract?

That was a great article. It made me think though...which of the following fans is more pathetic: Cleveland Browns Fans, LA Clippers fans, or Chicago Cubs fans? I still go with the Cubs fans (and I AM one)...for pet's sake, it's been 102 years and people STILL go crazy for the Cubbies. On that note, the new owners will be introduced Friday. Hey TribuneCo...don't let the gate hit you in the ass on the way out, you cheap b******s. Let's see what someone with some REAL business sense can do for us.

I moved from Ohio recently and I try to no longer give a **** about Cleveland sports, (Manny Acta? Really? WTF?) but I agree on Brady Quinn. Yeah, he may have talent, but he is definitely not in the right program. He needs to be on a team with a solid running game. Maybe they could trade him to the Pats and call them the "Brady Bunch" or something.

As for Braylon...whatever. I liked him at first because he was from michigan and I hate the Buckeyes so I'll root against them, but the last couple of years Edwards has been unable to call himself a "professional" athlete.

AK Rowdy. Yeah, heard that one before. It is stupid.

Nope. Lost my job, couldn't find another one, unemployment was garbage, and winters SUUUUUUUUCK. So I decided to head down South. :D Good decision.

Now watch, the f**kin Indians are going to win the World Series next year.

Just kidding.

Anyway, this Sunday, game of the week? I won't be watching football, I will be watching the NASCAR devastation known as Talladega.

Cleveland has like a 90% chance of scoring less than 10 points, lol. They got rid of every target, well just Winslow and Edwards. They have Jamal Lewis who shoulda just hung up his cleats after leaving Balt.

True. Here's hoping the Bears win, but I'm not going to be surprised or even disappointed if they lose. A loss should cost Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith their jobs. They've both worn out their welcome in Chicago.

Time for Rapid Fire, week 8!

Baltimore beat the snot out of Denver. This may be the biggest surprise of the weekend. Honestly, I'd been surprised and pleased at the Broncs performance thus far with Kyle Orton. Unfortunately someone replaced the Broncos offensive line with the Bears offensive line. Bummer. Josh McDaniels has seriously grown on me and I find myself rooting for the guy every week. But no one goes 16-0 after all...oh, waitaminute...

Buffalo really and truly sucks. How do you get beat by Houston's BACK UP running back? Will any coordinator jobs be open for Dick Jauron to apply for next year?

The Bears managed to beat the Browns. Actually, the Browns lost. The Bears in NO WAY deserved to win that game. The offensive line has more holes than a politician's speech. The only bright spot was Devon Hester. He is THIS close to being back to form on returns.

Is there a team in the NFL that's more overrated than the Seahawks right now? Dallas really made them look bad. On the upside, Miles Austin is an impressive new star with one of those really honest, infectious smiles. You can't help but root for the guy even if he does play for Jerry Botox. That reminds me, the FBI has issued a $500,000 REWARD to anyone who finds Jerry Jones's eyebrows.

Our thriller of the week: Miami and the Jets. SOmeone needs to tell Miami's defense that the game is actually 60 minutes long and not 45 minutes.

San Fran and Indy turned out to be pretty evenly matched too. What's wrong with this picture? How did Peyton Manning throw for 300+ yards (AGAIN) and only manage to win by 4 while not even scoring 20 points? Weird. Oh, BTW Alex Smith may not be the next coming everyone thought he was after last week.

Remember when I asked if there was a more overrated team than the Seahawks? Well there is: the Giants. Two weeks in a row they have been stomped. Philly made em look like the Lions. Eli Manning has to be hurt...he just doesn't look right in the pocket. CAn't put my finger on it, but something is wrong.

Why the heck did St. Louis have to go an ruin their perfect season by winning? I'm sooooo depressed... On the other hand, just goes to show Detroit hasn't come as far as people thought they have.

Oakland lost. I'm stunned. Okay, not really. The thing that gets me is how close the game was. Does San Diego HAVE to play down to the level of every team that they play against? Norv Turner, I'd find out where the Unemployment Office is in your area...and take your brother Ron with you before Bears fans toss him into Lake Michigan.

The Titans...won? Seriously? And it wasn't even close!...what just happened?

Favre Bowl II goes to the Vikings. You don't suppose Brett enjoyed THAT game do you? He and Ryan Longwell were celebrating like they'd just won Super Bowl 44. Props to Aaron Rodgers though...he's turned out very well and almost pulled that game out. If only the Pack had someone who could tackle on special teams...

Finally, Dr. Hyde showed up for the Cardinals today. 6 turnovers for Warner. Seriously. I don't care how many points you score, it's not enough to overcome 6 turnovers. I suggest duct tape on your palm.

Can't wait for the big game tomorrow night. Saints-Falcons is going to be exciting. Especially since all I need from my fantasy players is 1.4 points to win...and I have Drew Brees... 8)
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...

Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.
