ok so a long time ago I bought these tapes of the complete headmasters series and I noticed a lot of bad screw ups mainly with names like
Blaster is Billy
Twincast is Blaster
Blurr is Wally
Metroplex is Burt
Soundblaster is New Soundwave
Jazz is Marshall
Spike is Sparkle
Hot Rod is Roadimus Prime
Roddimus Prime is Optimus Prime Roadimus Prime
The Terrorcons are the Reptile regiment
the Trainbots are the robot train
the Protectabots are the Rescue Regiment
planet Char is planet Jolo
and The Matrix is called the Power Pack so are Energon cubes
the list goes on. anyone else seen this version and do you know why all these names are so screwed up?

Yes, lots of us have seen these poor dubs. They're also on the Headmasters DVD box set (although there is an option to view the episodes in the original Japanese with English subtitles.

Subtitles or dub, the series just isn't that good or well written.
It has its moments but not that damned many, and even the moments that it does have(Soundwave & Blaster battle to the "death") are eclipsed because the characters are brought back in the next freaking episode or 2.
Sixshot is this HUGE badass autobot killer and then becomes "Uncle Sixshot: Daniels little bitch".

Uncle Sixshot, Galvatron surviving Cybertron blowing up but getting killed by some lame glaciers, Daniel, and DANIEL. Brain farts across the board in this series.

The 2 classic lines from the series:
"Darn that Soundwave! AARRGGHH!!"

"Don't worry everythings fine, its SO obvious that we're going to win."

Actually i really enjoyed the series overall with the exception of the bad Voices/translation and Daniel. god I hate Daniel and wheelie I hate them so much

Pish posh! The dub is the best thing about that series. Other than that, it's really quite bad.

I just like when Metroplex rolls in and they say "Look, it's Phillip!"

gotta love how they refer to wingspan and pounce as just wingspan and Fastlane and Cloudraker as just Cloudraker. I sware in one episode it really sounds like someone calls Cromedome "condom". I sware.

Sixshot = originally awesome but then turns into a loser
The dub = godawful, watch it with English subs
Wheelie and Daniel = EVEN MORE ANNOYING THAN EVER!!!

Im the same as you. Ive picked up more Japanese words and phrases by watching subtitled shows and movies than I did learning the language at school. I know Italian alot better though.

WTF? This guy was a total bad-ass, ruthlessly killing autobots left and right. He killed Ultra Magnus and laughed about it, Murdered Chromedomes best friend and then....Uncle Sixshot?

SHEESH, I was waiting for Sixshot to say something like "Daniel can I just be your little bitch now?"

If I got stranded on a planet with Daniel I just don't think I could keep from smashing him accidentally. I mean, could you even IMAGINE being stranded on a planet with DANIEL?????
Maybe Sixshot knocked a few of his own screws loose when he hit his head coming down to the planet?

Wheelie and Daniel are off the freaking charts annoying.

Sixshot only got called Uncle Sixshot in the dub.

In the sub, he was only refered to as a friend, nor did he make any stupid comments to daniel about eating food and whatnot. In the sub, he remains an hounarable, ruthless, cold blooded killer, that looks out for his friends.

It's called character development.

I agree, great series if you can get past the voices. TF Cog has actually re-dubbed some episodes and they are a lot better for it.

It's quite sad that there's no effort to give any personality to characters in this crappy dub, either. It's just idiots with no real comprehension of the English language reading lines off a script. I wonder if we'll have have identities for these talentless idiots.

I happened to watch a dub of the Jackie Chan movie, "Police Story 2," when it was on TV last weekend, and nearly fell out of my chair when I heard the StarTV dub voices. Jackie's boss was Galvatron!

Wow, Darn that Jackie Chan, then, eh? lol.

I payed $30(shipping included) for all 3 of the Japanesse series dubbed. I wasn't expecting anything good, and I know, I know, things in japanesse are the best thing ever...

...but not for me!

So hey, it's affordable, take it for what it is and run with it cause if they did a profesional dub the complete set would probably run about $350.
