Hi All,

Great TF Site BTW.

I have a few questions about this movie and TF in general.
I went and saw TF last thursday, and i was very entertained to say the least. I have been a long time fan of TF, but never really got too in depth about story lines etc, just from being a kid owning the toys and seeing the TF animated movie, good stuff. Even though they did change a few things in the movie, like the apperance of some of the characters, it didnt spoil it too much.


Q.
Why did Michael Bay decide to change Megatrons apperance and not Optimus Prime? Optimus has been changed somewhat, bt you can still identify him easily, Megatron has no resemblance to his cartoon character nor any resemblance to Galvatron at all. I cant undertand why he would go this way.Ive always hated it when someone goes and ties another story/event in the line when it wasnt necessary.

Starscream has no resemblance to his original form, yeah hes a jet but does not look or sound like i knew him.

Devastator. Did i hear correctly? In the movie he's a Tank, but in the series hes a huge robot, that is the constructicons combined?

Any constructive replys would be great, sorry if this has been covered before.

Apart from those, i thought the movie was executed pretty well, but still imo it would have been that much better and more memorable if he has kept the characters more to their original designs. Look forward to TF2.

Well for starters, thanks to gun laws Megatron can't be a gun unless he looks like a brightly coloured Nerf gun.

Plus it would probably look very silly on the big screen if he transformed and had to be held by someone else.

The Raptor jet he's based on is suppose to be based on the latest and spiffiest fighter jet.

Oh, and this isn't G1 from 20 years, that actually goes a long way in answering the first two questions.

Yes. Though the Devestator name was more of an error as his final name is Brawl.
