Mine too! He's my first triplechanger.
Beast Wars II, Animated series
In Japan the exclusive cel-animated series Beast Wars II introduced a new character by the same name. In the years that followed the end of The Great War, the factions known as the Maximals and Predacons arose to replace the Autobots and Decepticons. In this time, a Transformer known called Galvatron was the leader of a group of Predacons who landed on Planet Gaia (a future version of Earth) in search of the power of the Angolmois energy to rule the universe. After many battles, he brought in his Fortress Nemesis to finish the extraction of the energy from the planet. Confronted by the Maximals Lio Convoy and LioJunior, merged together as the Lion of Gaea, Galvatron was defeated, but as the Angolmois energy was sealed in capsules to prevent further use, Galvatron revived, intending to use the self-destruct device in his chest to destroy his foes. With a final blow, Lio Convoy shattered Galvatron's chest, causing a cataclysmic explosion that seemed to kill both of them off and scattered the Angolmois capsules across the galaxy.
Galvatron was a Triple Changer, using a Gaian computer to give him the most powerful forms the planet had to offer. These were an ancient drill tank and a monstrous dragon. This made Galvatron the first Predacon in the series to gain a beast mode, although his was made into a Transmetal-like form because of his tank mode. Galvatron had immense power, to such an extent he often lapsed into stasis until he managed to amass enough Angolmois Energy to be permanently active in the second half of the series.
Beast Wars Neo
In the course of the Beast Wars Neo sequel series, it is revealed that the Angolmois energy is actuality the life essence of Unicron himself, which his minions the Blendtrons seek to recover. The Blendtrons also recover Galvatron's lifeless shell, which was then possessed by Unicron as he attempted to transform Cybertron into his new body, only to be defeated by Maximal leader Big Convoy, aided by Lio Convoy and his Maximals.
This incarnation of Galvatron was voiced by Tetsuo Komura.

TM Tarantulas
How did you get this Beast Wars Toy?
Ebay, AU$15 for him loose, but in perfect condition.
Rate your Bot: 1 Thumbs Up! is poor and 5 Thumbs Up! is the Best ever!!
1. Likeness to cartoon or Media:
[/b]As close as a toy of a spider with motorbike wheels can be. Colours are closer than I was expecting, but there are some paint apps that could have been better.
;)^ ;)^ ;)^
2. Posability:
Taranatulas has high posability in both modes. The 8 legs are all semi-posable, but do well enough to support the figure in alt mode, and can be moved around for a wide variety of different poses in robot mode. His arms and legs are also well articulated.
;)^ ;)^ ;)^ ;)^
3. Transformation:
For a Deluxe, Tarantulas has a very decent transformation, it is not difficult, but he is no flip-former either. The third "Motorcycle" mode is extremely simple to utilise and adds much to the figure in alt mode, but not much in robot mode. The Spider legs can be a slight hassle in robot mode, but they do look cool when posed as weapons, as used in the show.
;)^ ;)^ ;)^ ;)^
4. Packaging:
I have only ever seen the packaging from pics online, but I do have the cards for other Transmetals, and I love them. Having tech-specs, instructions and pics of other figures in all their modes is great, and something I wish Hasbro would consider doing again in the future. My only complaint is when removing the bubble, it is nigh impossible to not damage the front of the card.
;)^ ;)^ ;)^ ;)^
5. Best feature:
For many, the third "vehicle" mode was a like it or hate it kind of gimmick. On Tarantulas I love the third mode, the motorcycle wheels that just jut out suit the crazy character, and Tarantulas's motorcycle mode was heavily featured in the series, which makes it even cooler. As with all transmetals, having their name printed on them is kinda cool, and the vacuumed metal always looks good.
;)^ ;)^ ;)^ ;)^ ;)^
Overall score: 20 Points!
Would you recommend this toy?
Yes.
If you liked Tarantulas on the show this figure is a must buy, if you didn't like him much, you could skip him, but you would be missing out on a very fun figure with a unique (in a good way) figure that is very playable, and displays and poses very well.

You are very welcome. I'll do a few more when I can. I should be getting BWII Galvatron later this week/early next and will do a review for him straight away.
If you like these reviews I suggest checking out Ryan's:
Beast Wars (S1)
Beast Wars Transmetals (S2 & S3)
Beast Wars II (Japan only) and
Beast Wars Neo (Japan only) galleries.
Of course, don't go looking at them if you want to not spend money.

I may want to buy him depending on the rating he gets.

Tripredacus is 1 of the Beast Wars combiners, and the 3 toys that combine to form him are: Ramhorn, Cicadacon, and Seaclamp. He is supposed to be the Predacon leader. All 3 were briefly seen in The Agenda Pt1, as separate entities, and never in their combined form. From memory, the Show versions looked nothing like the toys.
Theories abound for this guy, most saying that he, like Tarantulas are related more closely to Unicron than Autobot or Decepticon.Maximal Primal wrote:Also could someone do a Rating review of Transmetals Terrorsaur? He is wickedly Cool!!

Love to help you out here, but I do not own the figure. Sorry.

It so is better then the Armada version, and not only that, the lanky arms make him look much more menacingly able to reach out and Bitch slap a Maximal easily!!
