Makes me wonder what will be "leader" about the Studio Series version of Primal.

Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK

Honestly, I didn't expect more, the design from ape to humanoid robot has always been prone to being a headflip bot. The SS leader will be the same as to some extent. Though the legs have transformation too and we don't see that in these pics. I think only the MP went out of its way to give a fully new transformation for Primal.
As for looking plain, fully agree, though that's more of an issue towards the film's design team. It's basically just recreating this:

Not sure if I'll buy this.

Right now I'm looking at three Primals, two from the movie line and the Authentic. Each has a different deco that reminds me of a previously released toy. The Authentic reminds me of the OG Primal, the Beast Armor reminds me of the reddish-brown Universe repaint, and the Weaponizer is based on the movie look. It'll be interesting to see how many more looks we get for Primal in the main line.

This is par for the course for the live action movies. If you're not a sleek street vehicle, you get no snazzy paint job. Instead, you get variations of gray, tan, brown, and other muted color shades.

Yep, I love my Masterpiece Primal so I really have no reason to buy other versions that doesn't excite me. I'll wait and see if review videos could change my mind.

Did anybody notice the big differences in the deco on the packaging for the Beast Alliance figures and the actual toys? I just noticed today that Sawback was supposed to be a more "Real" brown rather than the turquoise and silver we got.

Looks like ROTB will be rereleasing some of the BB Energon Igniters in updated packaging!
I missed out on some of those legends class ones (Barricade and Evasion Prime), so I'm glad I'll get another shot at them
It honestly just makes me really happy to see those original movie renders still in use!
EDIT: Also a very strange repaint of Ironhide as Battletrap:

While that was true for the Bay movies, I didn't think it was unreasonable to hope that a reboot would mean more visually distinctive designs, especially after the aesthetics in Bumblebee and the reuse of Optimus' Bumblebee design.

Bay's still around as a producer, and all of the other people who were in charge during his films are still in charge with this one.JazZeke wrote:Sabrblade wrote:This is par for the course for the live action movies. I'm surprised we're not getting a Primal at every price point in the first wave.

That's the point. These designs not being visually distinctive is Paramount and Hasbro's way of tieing this film with the others, visually (we've known this since we saw the design for Bumblebee). They never explicitly said it was a reboot and are not ready to give up Bayverse. They still wish to operate within it but devoid of storytelling restrictions.
So basically, this film could be a fun stand alone film, but the timeline is a mess that should not be looked into too much. If you want a full new look and a definite divorce from Bayverse, this ain't it.
Case in point, check out the renders they are using for the toys

Bayverse Renders are Creeping into the Rise of the Beasts Toyline with these New Toy Sightings
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
Lots of news for the Rise of the Beasts toyline. While the line is supposed to be released internationally on April 10th, many stores are stocking them earlier. And that gives us a look at toys we didn't even know were coming out.
So we have rereleases of toys from the Bumblebee line, which you can see below. One of the more interesting ones is an Energon Igniters Ironhide redeco which is labelled as Battletrap. It does have a render of Bayverse Ironhide though. We also see Bayverse Megatron on the rerelease of the ROTF Megatron toy from the Bumblebee line.
In similar news, we have our first look at the deluxes in individual packaging with Airazor. The box art is pretty cool since the image takes up two sides creating for a fun effect when stocking boxes, as you can see below.
And lastly, we have more shots of voyager Optimus Primal in bot mode. Two of the shots below are from a private event/exhibition in Australia and we thank Ozformers for the images.

Isn’t that the same one step Megatron that was oddly included in AOE’s line? That mold is really getting its moneys worth.

I wonder who these will be exclusive to? The price tag says "MV7 Capsule" and the line seems to be called "Autobots Unite" despite being all Decepticons and Terrocons shown. Those look like Walmart tags.

I kinda wish they had used in Blitzwing retool in the correct and gray and red colors rather than what looks like an unaltered rerelease of the original. At least they made Ironhide's art orange to match the figure.

Rise of the Beasts Transforming Masks Found in US
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
The Transformers Rise of the Beasts Transforming masks were some of the first products we saw for the line last year. They've been sitting in US warehouses for a year now practically, and they have finally come to American shelves. The Optimus Primal and Bumblebee masks were found in Meijer in Michigan for 34.99 USD, by ziltama who posted them on the TFW2005 boards. Let us know if you'll go for these at that price. The repackaged Smash and Change Optimus Prime was also found at the same location.

Rise of the Beasts Titan Changers and Voyager Wave 1 Found in Mexico Showing us Primal's Beast Mode
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
The Transformers Rise of the Beasts line is being found across the world. We had sightings in the UK, the US, and now Mexico. This Mexico sighting is doubly interesting because it is our first sighting of the first wave of voyagers, and so we get our first look at this Optimus Primal toy in beast mode. While we had seen a wave that has his wavemate Optimus Prime and Rhinox, that is actually wave 2. So that means both wave 1 and wave 2 have been produced and distributed internationally, it's just a matter of time when they'll be found on your local shelves.
This sighting, by Seth Sunthay, also includes the Titan Changers. We see Cheetor, Optimus Prime and Megatron. Megatron is probably the same we've had before, but I'd be curious to see the box art, so expect an update once we get better pictures of this set of figures.

Got another weird one, this looks to be a repack of an evergreen Megatron with a render of a new Megatron design on the box, maybe based on the rumored BB model that wasn't in the final movie?
While I don't like the helmet, I think the face and body design (at least what we can see) is actually pretty cool looking. He has some Bayverse Megatron vibes with those cheekbone pieces!
