Wow, great job on picking a very unattractive model with zero acting experience to boot. Seriously, if Bay was lookin' for eye candy, IMO he has achieved a truly epic FAIL in this regard.

Unfortunately it is written that she is a female LEAD. You don't get a cameo from a leading actor.
I also don't like the choice but let's give her a chance maybe she will fit in the story and maybe Bay knows how to shoot her to look good.

This is so stupid.

At one time, it made sense to put an actor or actress in a film if they were just eye candy since every little bit helps sell the movie.

But nowadays there's no point in paying twenty bucks to go to a movie just to gawk at an actress when she's wearing less on magazines and online. Espcially when you want to stab your eyes out every time she tries to actually "act".

I don't get why actors like this get priority over something I would pay to see a movie for (hint: big robots fighting, maybe a story about them and not their teenage human buddies).

Yeah I agree. I mean why find someone identical as megan anyway? Just give him a new girlfriend and make it like they didn't hit it off or something and just get to telling the story about the transformers. I mean..I don't think human characters are as important really considering its really all about the robots.

No! Dont give Sam a girlfriend! Kill off Makayla in the first 10 minutes and have nothing but giant robot fights afterwards! If you want a damn love story, there are 3 ROBOT couples waiting for that role! Optimus and Ileta 1, Ironhida and Chromia, Arcee and some other random Autobot (perferably Sideswipe) just leave the human love story out of it and give us what we payed for! A f*king 3 hour movie with nothing but big ass cool looking robots making even bigger ass cooler looking explosions! Who's with me!?

No. We can't. Nearly every generation of TF has involved humans in some shape or form, so it isn't going to stop now. Would we all like to have nothing but ronbots fighting, and talking for 2.5 hours... Sure. But thats not a reality. Like i said above, humans have always had some kind of role in TF. I think the only en of TF that didn't envole any humans was Beast Wars. Humans have, and always will have thier place in the TF universe. This is fact people. Part of the TF story line is how they interact with humans. Remember, their on earth. Not Cybertron.

I ussualy agree with you on most things, but i don't think i'm going to see eye, to eye with you on this. a robot love story would be an epic fail as it has "cheeze" writen all over it. It would also give critics and the media fuel to the fire to bash this movie even harder the ROTF.
Another key note that many seem to forget,....

These movies were not made soley for us. Their catered to the general public with a little lean towards the fandom. Love stories, human characters, all this is needed to get the general public involved. Thats how the franchise makes money. Heck, we wouldn't even be having a discussion right now if it weren't for the success of the first two movies.

You know, there's another good way to look at this.
Since this is her first major acting role, she's probbly only getting paid a quarter of what fox would have gotten had she been the leading lady. So the extra funds could go to more robot scenes. Just a thought...

Well if the rumours that she showed up for her audition in see-through lingerie are true, she's probably not in it for her acting.

We can guess how she got the 'job' .

The part that frustrates me about this depends greatly on how this new female lead is incorporated.

1) She replaces Fox as Mikaela. No real irritation on my part.

2) Mikaela is 'written out' and "Carly" (or whoever) is played by Rosie. Here's the irritation. They've spent two movies building up the 'love connection' between Sam and Mikaela. So now if they dump that character, not only do we have to devote valuable screen time to their breakup, we also have to sit through a new 'love connection'. All of this equals LESS GIANT ROBOTS. Plus, it cheapens the relationship building that Sam and Mikaela have gone through in the past two films. Didn't she say "who else could be your girlfriend?" They have been through some serious crap together and it would be dumb to have to scrap that and start over with a new character just because Megan Fox is an idiot.

Anyway, that's my two cents.

As much as I hate when characters get recast in sequels, I think it's the better option here. After everything they've been through together it would be really weird is Sam suddenly had another girlfriend out of nowhere.

Bay's been known to dig up all sorts of TF mythos, why stop with just a Carly or a Mikahea v 2.

My love of giant robots and explosions will over ride any common sense I have in saving my $15.50, of course, if it sucks royally I'll be all over the net complaining about it as soon I switch on my computer after it screens.

I really hope ROTF was sh1t on purpose so we all are pleasantly delighted with the 3rd one.
