I really hope he is anime accurate and not like Classics.

Kibble is definately a nono with MPs. I wonder if they can make little opening compartments all over him to slide any kibble into, like MP Megs feet in alt mode.

The original Grimlock had kibble incorporated into his design.... (i.e. chest cavity wings with dino arms chillin on his back)

Kibble in this case is required for accuracy.

I'd hoped for Ironhide/Ratchet, but Grimmy will do nicely.

Ok, so here I have an issue, having been on the recieving end of some things, I was completely in the wrong..I admit it.. and Getter was being very reasonable, yet I do feel that at times, which I have seen over the past few days, he gets a little power hungry or excessive in threats.. that is another reason I have refrained from posting for awhile, but I've been following his and soime other Mods posts....

Well, let me try to straighten things out for you. This thread is about a rumor that the next Masterpiece figure will be Grimlock.

Rather than commenting on what the thread was about (The Topic), you started posting your little story about Rabid Squirrels, intestines, your family, among other things.

This was completely random spam, as far as I am concerned. If you felt the urge to post your little story, you would have been more than welcome to in the Kitbash, Fan Fiction, and Artwork forum.

Grimlock as a Masterpiece would be completely awesome!!! What's even cooler, is how Hasbro could import it easy and do a Domestic U.S. Release, with a special DVD of G-1 episodes of the DinoBots!!

in all honesty, i'd prefer something like a 2/3 pack of THS (transformers hybrid style) minibots, like the obvious bumblebee and a more obscure inibot like say, pipes so they could crank then out. i have nothing against grimlock, but given his blah reaction by the japanese fanbase, i'd say this was false.

Just be prepared for him to be in some kind of wacked out scale (He should be as big as MP Convoy, or bigger...)

IF this is true, there is so much potential there. And he'd have a great chance of making it over here to the states, alla MP Optimus and Starscream (and all of the other seekers, hopefully), as Grimmy is way popular over here.

It also makes sense, because, if I am not mistaken, MP Megs sold very well because it was an original mold, not a repaint. New molds breath life into lines that are fading, as the MP line started to do after that, IMHO, G-awful grey MP Starscream and Prime again. They put out Megs and it's a big seller again, new life with a new mold. They have to assume that Skywarp will not sell quite as well, as it's a re-paint.

But skywarp, besides being a repaint looks authentic which was what bit MP-3 sales, it being realistic.

Well if they ever did do a Masterpiece Grimlock repaint, i hope they do him in Red and Balck with a different head sculpt, and call him Cruellock, as a Nemesis Prime type.. and if they ever did a Masterpiece Prime repaint as Nemesis or scourge, let's hope he gets a new mold first, but even if he didn't, I'd buy another Masterpiece Optimus Repaint, as long as his head was remolded to look different from the original..

I think the only repaint they could get away with would be G2 Grimlock, or maybe, and this is a real stretch, Trypticon.

I would get so excited if they did a Dinobot MP line. Here's hoping for a full release even though I know how much Tak/Tomy likes to do repaints. Sooner see Sunstorm before the complete Dino MP line.

I agree with this except Trypticon. This could not be Masterpiece Trypticon.

I think what they do with Megs will let us see how they handle other figures that seem to have no repaint ability at all.

If they make him into Browning, we know they are quite 'flexible' in there Masterpiece repaints, but if they make him Megaplex, than we know that they do not want to cheapen anything by doing repaints that sort of represent a G1 or vintage self.

I say yes, it could be G2 Grimlock, I also throw out Diaclone Grimlock, un-produced G2 Grimlock colored, or gold or chrome plated for the 'just because we can' factor.

yeah so what yer sayin is that all the lines before this one have been cheapened because of Prime repaints.. but wait, there was a repaint in the Masterpiece line up already as Ultra Magnus, and the seekers, and Starscream, Twice!!..technically 3 if you count Skywarp and impending Thundercracker would be four, and if they did Sunstorm...aww you know what I'm saying, if repaints would cheapne the Masterpiece line up, then its happened already dude!!

So yeah Cruellock was a 2nd Stringer from Energon, but he's got a cool name, and if they can do a Nemesis Prime off and on, then what about a kickass Grimlock nemesis? I mean Grimlock is afterall one of the baddest and strongest of the Autobots, why can't he have a nemesis as a Decepticon..??heck, why not just make him a Botcon exclusive with his own origin and comic.... If I had enough fore-warning I would definitely save up for that!!! That would be a Botcon exclusive worth the money!!

But for practicality reasons, it's probably be too expensive!!

If this happens, you can scratch Grimlock off my Grail post. I really hope that if they do this, they go for a slightly more modern, Jurassic Park-styled Trex instead of his former cool but occasionally dumpy looking body.

You were saying that up till now, there has been No repaints beyond what has been originally produced in the G-01 cartoon or toy line.. the seekers are expected, and the Ultramagnus looked that way as the toy, I assume.. until his popular resurgence in Dream Wave's comics.. so yeah.. I see your point on the repaint side...

Still... if they started to do them down the road...I vote Nemesis Prime with a different head sculpt, and a Cruellock with a different head sculpt...

That is if they ever did repaints..down the road...

ofcourse I would rather them both have their own molds but that's way too much to ask for characters that never were in the G-01 universe.. as far as I remember.. was there ever a Nemesis Prime or scourge in the G-01 Marvel comics??

Masterpiece is a G1 line, let's not fool ourselves. You can't compare the general release lines to Masterpiece. The MP line is set to follow G1. Megatron and the newly accurate release of Starscream solidify this fact.

I'd really like to address your issues in your post, but somehow it has a ring of Alvin Prime madness to it that I just can not properly argue for or against.

To summarize:

Masterpiece line is G1
Should not includ 'minor' or extended universe characters
Should follow the example of G1, but implement new technology
Each release should have a degree of gravitas (ie, no Cruelock, Nemesis Prime, etc)

(For the record, I did not buy Magnus. I thought it was a poopy repaint who's character deserved better. Now if, MP8 is Magnus Perfect edition with transforming trailer, I'll hit it like a Prom date...Two times.)

I think he meant that it would cheapen the range to have repaints that didnt represent the original figure. For example, Megatron repainted as Browning would be a stretch as they are very different but Starscream as Skywarp, Thundercracker or Sunstorm would be ok cos they are physically identical. I suppose Magnus is a bit of a stretch seeing as he has no armour but at least he is true to the g1 toy cab.

TOOOO late!! I got flamed!!! arrgghh!!

Yeah I got Ultra Magnus, but I got him cheap!! he he he .. like 45.00 cheap!! he was sitting at the comic shop on a shelf for like almost 4 years!!! I had to relieve their suffering, while haggling my price objection.. so now I own him, he's okay, but he really needs his darn armor!!!

Ok guys don't beat me up, it was just a suggestion, that if they ever did another repaint down the road, barring Ultra Magnus, and the seekers, who are justified, I would like to see a Grimlock repaint done as cruellock...

Only if they ever did start to do NON G-1 Accurate repaints..only if...

If they never do them, I'd be quite satisfied..but since this thread is a rumor anyways, why not a little hopeful levity??

Since you called me out, let me explain this. First off, I don't know if you know this, but I don't read every thread. Most of the times the moderators are contacted by members and we evaluate the situation that they are refering to. Sometimes we don't see the problem, and sometimes we do. We also have well over 30,000 members and I think on average someone gets banned maybe once every three months or less. The fact is, the person getting banned usually makes a big stink in a thread and it is in plain site of all the members, but in actuallity, for the year, half a dozen people who break the rules over the few thousand that join is a pretty good ratio. But if you can justify that a member spamming a thread or insulting other members numerous times is contributing, then I'll listen.

Now back on subject, I persoanlly think that they can make an MP Grimlock, because it always seems that with MP figures, they add a creative twist here and there making a nice figure.
