Saw movie yesterday, at last!
The movie finally hit south west England this weekend and I decided to watch the Monday morning showing.
Bloody amazing!
Peter Cullen deserves an Oscar. Seriously.

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Probably a combination of wanting to avoid a clash with Harry Potter (both the movie and the book) and the fact the school holidays started a few days before the movie release.

good for you guys. personally i'm glad you english gents enjoyed it. don't make the same mistake i made: GO WATCH IT MORE THAN 2 TIMES.
wondering why you got it late there though. here, we started screening the TF movie last june 29 hehe.
here's hoping that no one would destroy all of you guys' enjoyment of the movie by posting their "critical" disappointment with it. let's keep the negative ideas away from this thread, people.

I just saw it yesterday myself even though it has been out here in Ireland about a week.
No doubt about it I am going to go back and get a second and maybe even a third viewing - God Bless Cineworld "go as many time as you want" cards.
Really loved the movie. Sure there were some elements I was not overly happy with, for example still can't take to the design of the bot's, but overall - just awsome. Action, acting, laughs, evil cop car - super. And for me using Peter Cullen made the movie - I don't think it would have worked as well without him.
What most impressed me about the movie is how they have been able to make the movie appeal to such a wide audience. I mean, the showing I was at yesterday was sold out and the crowd was full of guys and girls of all ages and they were loving it.
I mean, if you told me twenty years ago there would be a live action movie of the Transformers and groups of very hot girls would go to it without being dragged by their boyfriends and would love the movie I'd have had you committed - but that is what has happened! Amazing.
And equally as impressive, most movies of this type are universally frowned on by movie critics but every review I have read of this movie has given it a thumbs up and advised people to go and see it because it is fun! Now that is some achievement.

yay, now done gone seen it too!
I tried to view it through the rose tinted glasses you guys seem to have seen it through but it didn't help.
Here's a quick review after deleting the massive rant I was gonna post; Transformers (2007).
A badly scripted Herbie film that thinks it's funnier than it is. Herbie is now a Camaro that transforms and has some friends that also turn into robots. Very rarely he fights aome other transforming things including a cassette player that turns into Stripe from Gremlins. Herbie's bestfriend's are a Pontiac that transforms into a stereotype and an idiot pretending to be Optimus Prime.

...all I wanted was a film called Transformers to be about Transformers. Is that too much to ask?
Instead, I got 'The mis-adventures of young Bill Murray and his wacky robot friends' with special cameo appearance from the Decepticons.
Me lady liked it though, which was nice, and it was a hell of a lot better than spider-man 3
