Season 1-2 VS Season 3-4

Postby decepta-scott » Fri Jul 08, 2011 9:46 am

Which do you guys prefer? Pre or post movie toons?
I like both very much but have to side with the pre movie toons. Reason being I am a fan of screamer, megs and prime. Not to mention I like prowl, iron hide, ratchet, wheel jack better than I like blur, arcee, springer cupp.
I wish there could have been just one more season where they incorperated all bots into the same toon.
Id really love it if they would create an adult toon where they could kill and swear as they saw fit. I mean really drive the whole war thing all the way. That would be great!
All well. I guess Ill have to get my hands on theese old comics as Ive heard they were really graphic.
Back to topic though, Which do you prefer? Pre, or post war?

This one is hard for me to answer.

I prefer the characters of the first 2 seasons, but the writing of season 3 was better.

Season one... honestly, there wasn't what could be called a 'bad' episode in it. The sucky ones-BOT, Kremzeek, City of Steel, Carnage in C Minor all came later. So there alone tips it in that favor.

Honestly, for me, seasons one and two are better. Better characters-I hate Rodimus, Blurr and find Springer to be rather overrated. Better stories, the Decepticons were a bigger threat.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Oh man.. I was realy hoping for alot more responses than this. I realy wanted to know how many fans liked which generations of bots. All well.
I hated rodimus, springer, blurr and just about all the new age auto bots as well. Ill never know if it was because they replaced all my favs after their brutal murder or if I realy thought they suck. I do know I have a genuine dislike for springer and blurr.
Rodimus and the rest are more than likely disliked because they were the replacements for my favs.
Plus does anyone else think hot rod purposly got prime killed as part of a plot to take leadership of the auto bots? Death to the Turn coat!!!! :)

Season 3 has Galvatron and Cyclonus and some kick-ass episodes... Then again, G1 Prime is just, well, basically why we're here.

Season one established the franchise, season two developed the characters, season three promoted new product and season four was just an undignified demise.

IMO the best seasons were easily one and two.

Seasons 1 & 2 for me. Season there was good too. Rodimus Prime needed to grow some balls and stop doubting himself. I never really felt like he was ready to be the leader. He was still Hot Rod but he was wearing big boy that didn't quite fit him right. I guess he had to grow into being a leader. I didn't like how they turned the Dinobots from mindless savages to mindless children and Grimlock was comic relief and they always stayed in dino mode. Those were the only real problems I had with season 3. I really liked the animation in Call of the Primitives. The season 4 mini-series really seemed like a big commercial, didn't care for it at all, except for the opening, which was awesome. Too bad the animation style in the openning didn't carry over to the episodes.

seasons 1 and 2 for me.

i laud what they tried to do with 3 and 4. while i never liked rodimus prime they did handle the "passing of the torch" from one leader to a new one very well and it made for interesting stories and character development.

and hey it has some of the best animation (i can watch call of the primatives till the cows come home)

but structurally it just made no sense to me.

seriously what the hell was the decepticons motivation ?

in serie 1 and 2 it was plain as day, strip earth of its resources repower cybertron and conquer the universe . i honestly have no clue what they their plans were in series 3 and 4, and dont get me started on galvatron. from epic vilain in the movie to drooling nutter in one fell swoop.

nope for all the fun characters and concepts introduced in 3 and 4 seasons 1 and 2 are the best to me.

season 1 in particular sets up the whole TF universe very organically (love little stuff like the testing of the space bridges), gave the deceps a reason to do what they did and even gave them a win or two.

hell in the "more than meets the eye" mini im pretty sure the only time the bots actually win is at the end ! up to then the deceps were a credible threat.

and beside ill never forgive the writers in the post movie series for what they did to the dinos.

I also hate that grimlock became a bozo. Galvatron also became a giant push over. The whole season three and four was just one giant autobot victory. The cons were more of a pain in the ass than a threat.
The autobots should have shaken in their boots at the mention of the bot that killed prime and did so much damage to the whole autobot race. They should have been scared for their lives every time they faced galvatron or the deceptacons but they werent.
