I see people who are in Prime mode and _still_ higher levels on all their classes than me. Talk about dedication!

I don't play PC. I play console.

The other gent mentioned something about a TF2 server, so I assumed he plays PC, where that game is generally more popular than it's console version.

So if he did play PC, I was saying I can't speak for quality of PC players - as I have zero experience on that medium of gameplay.

I play Team Fortress 2 on PC because the console version is for chumps. (Not to derail or anything but we did just get our ninth new weapons set) That doesn't mean I play WfC on PC as well.

That said, how does playing PC online somehow alter the skill compared to those who play console games online?

It started pretty good, but after this past weekend with the double xp, all hell broke loose. I have not had a single good experience over the past weekend. I can't stay alive for 2 seconds no matter what class or config I play as. I'm getting pummeled down without any help or cover from my team. Some matches people didn't even try for the node and just went killing each other. Some even had my team not even able to capture over 70 points.

I play scout and scientist. I prefer scientist, and seem to last longer by being more of a sniper/gunman from a distance. But no one wants that, they say my job is to heal. You can't make a difference like that though when you don't play as a team. I can't survive or capture points by myself. If I rush in, I die because my aim isn't great and I'm kinda slow (but I'm trying!) So I'm kinda stuck like that.

At least before that matches were somewhat even, but after this weekend I've spent most of my time in Escl. I try to learn, I know I'm not great, but I just can't figure out how to swing things in my favor atm. Cause all I can do atm is look out for myself first and team second at this rate.

Sorry for the long rant, I've just been struggling with this all weekend. I wish someone would release more tutorials or something cause I think I may be missing something about my role :-?

As someone who is also not the greatest in online pvp I feel your pain. I have found my biggest asset is to truly understand what your weapons, abilites and upgrades are capable of doing...and timing them. Most pvp gamers go in and hack-n-slash. But if you can keep your cool and time your abilities just right you can do awesome. Ever since writing down each of my character builds I've done a little better because I know what my current toon is equipped with.

My biggest kick in the tailpipe is when my keys get stuck or I get confused what button to push. I game on the computer and my keyboard is cordless. I couldn't tell you how many bad words came sputtering out of my mouth because of those two problems.

I must also admit I'm jealous of those players who seem naturally really good at this kind of thing. I've encountered gamers who jump around like grasshoppers and shoot the energon out of me with no problem. IT'S NOT FAIR!!

But with practice and a calm head I believe ANY gamer can improve.

But regarding sucky teammates, yea, there are players who don't know what they are doing. They walk into a game thinking it's a mad dash to get the most kills but I think that only applies to Deathmatch. With Team Deathmatch and Node Capturing I've found success comes best with teamwork.

So far my best game score-wise is in the 2300+ (1 match so far) and my best kill/death ratio has been 10 to 1. I've had one game with 11 kills and some games my deaths accounted for half the required amount.

Ty for your imput and understanding :D You are right of course and I do try really hard to learn the things you mentioned. I've actually switched to scout and have seen a much better improvement in my point scoring /kd ratio (dash ftw!).

Yeah, those naturally awesome players aren't fair at all. I can't kill them but they sure can pwn me

I still get a lot of matches were no one bothers to work together at all. Especially the leaders and soldiers. They never team up or stick together (except for the other team it seems) Often times they leave me to fend for myself and I have to escape :BANG_HEAD: Oh well, when pvp starts to irk me I just play esc. now

I never said playing PC alters anything. You're misunderstanding my posts.

Just was clarifying that I have experience with console mp games, and zero experience on PC mp, so all I can talk about *are* console gamers.

Anyhow, like I said, I assumed you were a PC gamer. Generally people seem to either play console or PC, as not everybody does both, so: Yeah.

yeah a lot of people can improve, which is cool!

Honestly a lot of games are just mental, knowing what to do and when, and playing *smart*. If it's Call of Duty your reflexes matter, but in games like WFC

It's more about decision-making.

Here's one thing I do have to get off my chest, and I think it's legitimate. In Power Struggle, it doesn't really matter at all how many people you kill. What wins the game is controlling the node. I've seen teams hang back and try to kill the bots inside the node, but you know what? That entire time, the other team is racking up points. And they're just respawning after they die anyway. If you've got your whole team there, get in the node and at least contest them for it to shut down their points.

Power Struggle is kind of retarded though. All that the game mode requires you do is just that - rush the node, stand in it with as many people as possible, and that's it.

Instead of 1pt/second, per person that's in the node, it should simply be 1pt/second. That way defending whoever is in the node would be worthwhile.

Right now all you have to do is rush it with your team, hold the node for 10seconds, and that's what, 40-50pts if you have 4+ teammates in there? It could be a lot better.

I actually love this game so much, especially when I get good team mates. The game result can be so different also by the team work, either dominating, being dominated, or both team are so even at points like 400-399, 400-397, or can't even reach 400 in the given time. Many times when I use leader or soldier, I draw out the node to attack and attract enemies and let my team mates control the node to gain points and provide support fire power. Then I returned and the scientist will heal me. This is almost perfect situation, but does not happen very often though.

I'll be honest, I've quit a few times, but that's only when the lag is so horrifically bad, playing just becomes a joke. I've had games where I'll hit the bumper button and 3-4 seconds later Warcry will animate.

Been there and done that. I had to quit several times because I thought I was somewhere and next thing I know it I'm back where I started. Or my toon suddenly blows up! WTF!!

If you are lagging so bad you have to quit, you are not likely the host and only hurt the game a wee bit. The host quits and it game over.

i got to agree my friend....ish happens...can't tell you how many times i've got top kills over everyone on both teams but the enemy team still wins since every player has about the same amount of kills equalling 40 and i'm stuck on a team with guys that go 0-14 or 2-12..if i alone am racking up 14 to 17 kills and my team is THAT bad then those kids need to play something else

I rented this as funds are tight, but am really enjoying it. I've yet to find a group of people who play together (at least on my teams) and I get owned. My role in most games is meat shield. I run out and draw fire while my teammates get the kills. I do love playing as the scientist role and on escalation it is fun to fly in and grab a point and then fly into another point and keep going. maybe I'm just playing wrong???

Welcome to the forums :D

I have the exact same problem. I seem to be the sacrifice so my team can win. It seems to make them happy but it sucks for me lol! Then again I can't aim so that doesn't help anything. Try going to the forums for the game on gamefaqs.com. They have lots of great topics about specs and strategies of the classes so you may find the style that suits you.

No sacrifice, no victory.

Sometimes I found dying is a quicker way to recharge yourself especially as a scientist. When the sentry and shockwave and healing grenade are all out, many times I don't want to wait for the recharge, kamikaze my self is faster than sneaking around. Unless I already have 5 kills, then I will sneak around to try to get 7 kills.

My strategy as Scientist, using Disguise and Shockwave abilities: Disguise (As I've said, Slipstream and Silverbolt are best for this due to their similar appearance), find someone who isn't near any allies, (Vehicle mode Soldiers are ideal since they're slow and can barely aim at close range) and smack 'em a couple times with the EMP shotgun. If that doesn't do them in, a melee attack should. Use shockwave if you need a quick escape. After your kill, fly off to a secluded area and wait for Disguise to recharge. If absolutely necessary, pop off your Energon grenade. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Havoc (One of the DLC maps) has a small ledge that, as far as I know, is only accessible to Scientists. All that's up there is a few of those scenery crates you find lying about. I tend to use this as a post-kill hide-out.

Ive also noticed that it never places teams fairly i have a lvl 23 scout, lvl 18 leader, lvl 15 scientist, and lvl 15 soldier, and i always seem to be put on the team with more higher lvls, im not complaining it is kinda nice but it is unfair to the new people
