What's a Civil Remedial Fee?

Basically, it's where Virginians who get tickets in Virginia have to pay tons more, over the course of years, because the government wants to raise money for No on knows what. So, like, if a ticket in say Maryland would be $150, it would, over time, in Virginia be like $500-1000, depending. It's ridiculous and HATED.

Sherade wrote:I have distaste for a small part of insurance too. It's awesome that I can be covered for other's mistakes, and sometimes get bonuses for not doing it on my own, which I think the payments are worth, but some companies will cover you even if it's your fault, and I think that's kinda lame. If I make a mistake, I should be cleaning it up.
Homer wrote:I'm sure I am misunderstanding you, but you think it is lame that an insurance company will cover your car if you have an at-fault accident? If you are paying for full coverage, why wouldn't you want it to cover your car? Not only that, but unless you have paid it off, it isn't your car, its the bank's. They are the one's that want you to have full coverage, so you can protect their car.
Jeysie wrote:Dunno how other states/companies do it, but I'd imagine it's something similar: the better you drive, the less you pay.
Sherade wrote:Hey....I wonder if there will be any pursuit units with openings in a few years. I could live my love of speed, get into a chase, and save some people. Plus it won't get me tossed around the legal system....
Of course..I doubt it'll happen..oh well, dreaming is fun.

Shadowman wrote:The Legal system? No, you'd still be in there. There's a lot of paperwork, and if you caused damage during a chase, they'd practically mutilate you.
I meant as in the crap end with jail and that mix. I know that if I do damage, well thats given. But I'm sure it depends on the circumstance. If I P.I.T a guy into a pole or something, I might have a good reason, if there was a chance of even more damage elsewhere. But yeah, it really wouldn't help for no reason.
You'd still have to drive safe in a pursuit unit. Remember, just because you have those sirens on, doesn't mean people would be capable of pulling over all the time.
Yeah, I was gonna mention the sirens, but thought over how some won't exactly make the best move. Not to their fault, maybe, but sometimes the pressure of trying to avoid being a block makes it worse.

Well, you partially misunderstood me. Yes ,I want my car covered. But ibeleive If i'm the one who has made the fault, I should be penalized somehow, or rewarded if I don't make the fault. Paying in full seems the only way to make it stick. Maybe a fine, I dunno. But if I've learned anything, it's that punishment is best for education.
Is it neccasarily te banks if it's a used car form a private owner, say an 800 dollar 1987 Mustang GT?
Jeysie wrote:Sherade: Generally you pay for getting into "at-fault" accidents by having your insurance rates go up with each one you get into.
Here in MA, at least, we have a "Step program". Everyone starts out at a certain step, and you go down steps for every year you drive clean/safely and up steps for every accident you're at fault for (as well as traffic violations and some other things). How much you pay for your insurance depends on how high your step is.
Dunno how other states/companies do it, but I'd imagine it's something similar: the better you drive, the less you pay.
Homer wrote:And no, you pay a car off in full, its no one's but yours.
Sherade wrote:I wanted to know if I were to buy it (and 800 bucks isn't hard to pay off) would it be the bank's if a private owner sells it? I know about cars, not the sales system.

That makes no sense to me.
