Now that was a good popcorn flick.

Had some inconsistencies, and Im sure there were hundreds of references and nods to the old movies/show that I missed, but it was enjoyable for a person who knows next to nothing about Trek like me.

And it was damn nice to have loads of computer generated effects that did not have 4 layers of motion blur on them!

Yes.

So she basically blagged her way onto the Enterprise, then stopped the elevator to eat Spock's face. I thought it was funny, so you don't need to read too much into my comment. I don't want to cause you undue stress.

She earned that spot as even Spock admitted.

I seen this today amd my god that was a hell of a good movie

Sad to see that the Federation and Starfleet history was changed especially with one of the founding members of the Federation...Vulcan...blown to bits

It was cool that Spock now instead of trying to unify the Vulcans and Romulans will now have to rebuild a Vulcan civilization back in the 23rd century

I wonder how future events end up

Like what will happen in the future with Picard ,Riker and the Enterprise D but now all I care about is to see a sequel to this current movie

I think they pulled off the time paradox thing pretty good. It reminded me of Back to the Future, when Doc says he can't see his younger self. That caused a bit of a surprise in certain parts of the movie. I don't want to spoil it, but those who saw it know what I'm talking about. Also, I loved the bar fight, and I am convinced if Pike hadn't stopped it, Kirk could have kicked all their asses.

Oh, and BTW, the movie made almost $ 77 million!

Weapon: Battle Blades
The only way it could have been any better was if Old Spock went "First, staple-face from Insurrection, then emo Picard-clone, and now, you. It's a pity you crappy villains die so easily, otherwise we might have a sense of satisfaction."

Then Gibbs and the jewish chick from NCIS beam aboard and proceed to murderify the Nero's crew.

ps. dear admins can we gets one of those smileys with a BFG? thanks muchy <3

Compared to what? Previous Trek films? Or series? Or just by itself?

I think it was a good story, I did not notice any loopholes. I am not a Trek fan, the only other movies I saw so far were The Wrath of Khan and Generations, and I liked both of them, mostly because I am a fan of William Shatner and the Kirk character. That's probably why I never got into any of the series after the original, except for Voyager, but only a little. And only because of Seven of Nine.

Seven...of...Nnn... *drool*

Bottom line, it was a damn good action movie, and I think it will come damn close to TF:RotF in terms of action and CGI. Plus, they have the same writers. Orci and Kurtzman slaughtered the first TF movie, but they did good here, so it raised my hopes for a decent RotF a little.

Down boy Down! Lol

Yep there where alot of nods in this movie. Pike in a Wheelchair was a nod to What happened to him in TOS. As far as I know they green lighted a sequeal to this the 11th movie in Franchize. Then again I could be wrong.

They'll probably put them in the sequel. I figure that's next. They already used the Romulans.

You're confusing "franchise" and "canon." If it says "Star Trek" and it isn't fan-made, it's part of the franchise.

I still haven't seen this movie. I'm no Trekkie (I'm more of a Star Wars man), but I'll watch an episode or movie of any of the series if it's on. And I want to see this movie!
