If you haven't beaten the first game, stop right here.

For those that have, click the link.

Starkiller Lives!!!

Though honestly, there is no need for this game. The ending rounded up everything to set things up for the comming Rebellion. Luke could carry things on.

Still, it seems Yoda will play a part in this game. And I have a feeling we'll finally see the final fate of Rom Kota since he isn't supposed to be anywhere in the classic trilogy or Luke's problems with training would have been solved before ESB and elimanated the need for Yoda.

Kota told Starkiller it would have been a better idea not to kill the Emperor. Apparently no one told Kota that beating up Palpatine doesn't mean the Empire has to shut down, and that the Emperor is more than capable of standing back up and continuing what he was doing. I assume Obi-Wan picked a Jedi Master, who DIDN'T make one of the biggest mistakes you could make in war. (If you have a chance for a killing blow on the enemy leader, you take it!)

No it doesn't, the Order has absolutely no problems with killing Sith Lords. They didn't seem opposed when Obi-Wan killed Darth Maul out of anger and revenge. And the only one who felt bad about Count Dooku's was Anakin. And Yoda clearly had no intention of letting Palpatine live, nor did Mace Windu. And hell, Anakin got promoted for killing Asajj Ventress, though she wasn't really dead, but they didn't know that.

The belief that you shouldn't kill the ultimate evil in the galaxy is what led to the formation of the Empire in the first place, though Anakin wanted Palpatine to live for other reasons. Kota should have known better than to let a Sith Lord, and one of the most powerful and evil people in the Galaxy simply walk away. That's actually my only real problem with Force Unleashed, that Kota felt they were better off letting the Emperor live.

Yeah. It was a good game, in theory, but there were so many flaws, and it failed to live up to what it had promised, I wonder how it warranted a sequel.

What were the flaws that you had seen?
The only parts I didn't like were Mara's Rancor and the unskippable Death Star scene showing the Gravatron Rings and the Emperor's Balcony. Those two I wished were differant. :?

Uh, all over the place? Enemies that can block everything you throw a them, the Star Destroyer sequence in general, the part of the story where Kota tells Starkiller not to kill the Emperor (No, I'm never getting over that, ever), the fact that if I want to upgrade my lightsaber, I have to sit through a loading screen, then another loading screen when I go back to gameplay, the boss battles are pretty much "Press X to Not Die" quicktime events, and the game is only ten missions long, with three of the missions just being slightly different versions of three other missions. The whole game failed to live up to the hype LucasArts had worked to create. You were supposed to be this almighty Sith Lord and you just...weren't. of course I'm talking about the 360/PS3 version, so I don't know if we're playing the same version.

Couldn't have said it better. Not to mention Jedi Knight and Jedi Outcast did everything better years before hand. The combo system was pointless when you think about the weapon you're using... Why did I just get a three hit combo on a stormtrooper? Shouldn't the first slash have chopped him in two? Oh yeah, no dismemberment. Also the fact that you can't block a blaster shot back at an enemy is beyond moronic. And enemies that can block your force powers? Umm... What?! I do a powered up force push and a stupid blue guy shrugs it off like it's nothing. NO! A force push like that is as if I threw a damn wheelbarrow full of bricks at you. You don't shrug that off. Then we also have the wonderful cluster eff when in a battle with multiple enemies. You get knocked down, you stay down because there is no freaking way of recovering if an enemy is over top of you.

There were soooooo damn many little bits wrong with that game that they led up to it being mediocre overall. Really sad as I was really looking forward to it originally.

The Jedi Knight games, they pretty much perfected Lightsaber combat. You were always blocking, so you could just tap "attack" and the resulting fight was actually pretty cool to see. And no Star Wars game used that system since. Now you have to manually block, which isn't nearly as efficient, and more often that not, if your timing is off (and even if it isn't) you're trapped in a combo or until you can recover. And how you can survive being sliced up by a lightsaber half a dozen times without having your name being Darth Sion is beyond me.

I think Kota is using the "Jedi shall not kill in anger" defence. The only way I could see them doing a sequal is that it's a bunch of side stories to the first one or it's an alternate timeline following the Dark Side ending (which they done in DLC for the first one) with Starkiller filling Vader's role.

Again I point out Obi-Wan killing Darth Maul. He did that out of anger and revenge. And you know what the Jedi did? They let let Anakin become a Jedi under Obi-Wan, something they outright REFUSED to do for Qui-Gon shortly before.

Obi-Wan did not kill maul out of vengeance or anger. He did it because he needed to. If you recall, maul tossed his lightsaber into the pit with Kenobi holding onto something for dear life with Maul slashing away at the edge in hopes of trying to send Obi-Wan falling. It was a case of kill or be killed. Obi-Wan simply caught Maul (an armed opponent) with his pants down and took the opening to kill his opponent.

In Starkillers instance, he would have killed a beathen and unarmed adversary. The fight was over. Jedi kill by fair fight or in defense. Same iwht Luke, once he beat Vader and the Emperor commanded Luke to kill Vader, Luke realsied that if he did that, he'd become his father and the severed hand and his artifical was the big reminder. He threw down the lightsaber because the fight was over, he won.

But that's the problem! Palpatine in control of the entire galaxy, just beating him doesn't cut it! There's no rule saying beating him means he has to take apart the Death Star, dissolve the Empire, then retire. If Starkiller had killed him, the war would be over. Kota was too stupid to realize they were within a Lightsaber strike of ending the Empire, which Starkiller spent the second half of the game working towards.

Even Mace Windu didn't have a problem with it, he knew Palpatine was far too dangerous to keep alive, and he was right.
