I bet a 3rd party will make a coronation set for Masterpiece Starscream since the Hasbro version didn't have one.

Yeah, but I don't think the crown would fit the bigger head. It's a safe bet someone would either KO the MP-11 coronation set, or make something new from scratch.

Is there any hints or speculation that ToysRUs is going to repaint MP-07 as the other two seekers and release them?

Thundercracker was released at TRU using that mold in 2012, so I wouldn't expect to see it again. Skywarp is something I fully expect to be released next year, though there's been no announcement of it. That said, Hasbro is on record stating they feel they have a "contract with the fans" to do all three seekers in each iteration of them, and recent history shows them making good on this.Puhonix wrote:Is there any hints or speculation that ToysRUs is going to repaint MP-07 as the other two seekers and release them?
Of course, MP-11SW's release, coupled with the original US release of Skywarp (using the MP-3 mold) having terrible sales, may lead to no Skywarp coming this way. We'll see!

Firstly, the decisions come from hasbro, Toysrus is just a retailer, they dont decide the decos (for the most part). And they already released Thundercracker so Hasbro only has Skywarp left to release with this new MP 11 mold.

If you missed out, he is still available on e-bay and will probably lose a bit of value since takara is releasing their thundercracker too. If you have the money, you can currently get all 3 seekers which use the same mold.

Well.....If Starscream ever turns up at TRU in Scotland! & I happen to be there + if I can afford it at the time......then I maybe'll pick it up!
Although Sunstorm has been shelfwarming in TRU for ages( the last time I was at TRU they only had one left). Mind you....I doubt Thundercracker & Starscream would be shelfwarming to the same extent
Btw....is there to be a Skywarp figure?(& I don't mean the Leader Class CW one)
Also...I should've said make that TWO Starscreams! coz there's the Combiner Wars Leader Class one as well(it hasn't reached the UK yet)

Differences between Takara MP 11 and Hasbro MP 07 Masterpiece Starscream
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
At first it seemed like only the nosecone tip was different between the two releases of the Masterpeice Starscream retool, MP 11 Takara/MP 07 Hasbro.
Turns out there is a lot more, here are the main differences on the Hasbro version (as we will see from Seibertron's gallery once it is up):
Blue nosecone tip
Lights at the tip of the wings are both green (red and green on Takara)
The blue paint found on the feet, forearms and lower legs has a metallic finish
The wing tips are a darker blue
The face is a shade lighter
The dark grey plastic used for intakes and the seat is a shade lighter
Decepticon logo has a silver border (along with silver legal writing on the wings)
The shade of yellow used on the cockpit is deeper and lighter.
Hasbro pilot figure is black (clear blue for Takara)
Megatron gun clip is grey (black for Takara)
Joints are tighter overall and the chest no longer slides once transformed properly into robot mode.
Also, instead of the coronation gear, you get the standard base with stand that came with MP 3 (the first MP Starscream) along with 2 missile racks.
So yeah a pretty big difference in toys afterall.

The main figure is superior, but the big difference still remains the accessories. No matter how superior Hasbro's may be, he doesnt have the coveted coronatio gear which still remains exclusive.

People should see that at 150$US, the coronation gear is not worth the price of admission. An I really mean, 150$ for the accessory ALONE.
Siiiiiiiiigh....

HAHAHA, so you did. Don't know how I missed that, derp. I'm loving everything about the Hasbro version. I'm especially liking the silver lined insignia and I'm stoked about the display stand. I've been wondering about the lil pilot guy. I saw him in Tak gallery and thought that was a nice touch.william-james88 wrote:carytheone wrote:I'm curious, do they both come with the little booger pilot?

Ha ha! Cary called him a "booger pilot"! Took me a minute, but ya, he looks like a little pile of boogs!
And K, if it makes you feel any better, when has a Hasbro Seeker release ever been better than a Takara?
How could you have known?
( ok I guess there was the whole weird green SS vs. the Hasbro G1 colors. And I do like Hasbro Sunstorm's deco better, but you get what I'm saying. )

Also Acid storm was the same version across the board and Prowl seems to be the exact same level of quality. And Optimus has better eyes and red on the hasbro version. Gee Cobo starting to think Hasbro might be pretty good on these afterall (when they release them)

HAHAHA, nice one COBS! In that case its 50 50 because the only seeker molds that worked out well so far are Takara Sky Warp and Hasbro Starscream. The rest are very deeply flawed in terms of the chest.
EDIT:
Hey wait a sec, MP 11 was the first release of that seeker mold, so there wasnt much of a precedent. The only precedent was the MP 3 mold and as you pointed out, Hasbro won that round last time. Guess it only makes sense they win this round too.

Transformers Masterpiece Starscream MP 07 found at Canadian retail + detailed list of differences
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
Those who preordered the Hasbro release of Masterpiece Starscream from toysrus.ca have already received their figure but he was still not on the Toysrus shelves in Canada. He was found this morning in the Montreal Toysrus near Decarie Boulevard for 89.99$ cdn (69.50$ US) before taxes.

Sadly, moments later, every copy had been purchased by a known local scalper's elderly parents. Your fellow news editor was not pleased and took a picture.

Also, for those still unsure about the release, here is a detailed account of every difference this Hasbro release has over the Takara release of MP 11 Starscream:
Blue nosecone tip
Lights at the tip of the wings are both green (red and green on Takara)
The blue paint found on the feet, forearms and lower legs has a metallic finish different than the Takara blue which tries more to match the blue plastic used on the hands
