Does anyone have the link for commander class Optimus Prime on Amazon?
I searched, but I can’t find it in Amazon. I pre-ordered on TF source but I am interested in the lower price.

It's available on BBTS at the same price as Amazon

https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/ ... 282837?o=1

Thanks, WJ. When I click the link it’s the Same price as TFsource, 89. 99. Is the lower price a Canadian price? Or were you saying that it is the same price as TF source.

Thanks for the link over cracker nice to see it’s on Amazon even if it’s unavailable.

We got some Transformers Studio Series 86 commander class news for you. Firstly, below you will see some videos taken at SDCC 2025 featuring SS86 Optimus Prime, including the transformation.

We also have the news, from JTPrime17, that next year's commander will be a boxset including the remainder of SS86 Devastator. That would be Longhaul, Hook and combiner accessories. It means that the combiner will be finished within one year, made up of that boxset, two individually sold deluxes and two individually sold voyagers.

I know it makes sense in terms of cost, but I am a little surprised those last two Constructicons will be sold as a CC set… Mainly because CC’s have usually been more difficult to get.
But I’m very thankful that all six will be available within 6 months!

I was interested in a SS86 Devastator until I remembered how much I don't like Devastator's animation model, especially how distorted Scrapper gets. I'm more and more inclined to keep my UW version.

Congrats to everyone getting their Swoops in! He sold out on pulse so damn fast, I have an order with Springer on EE that's currently scheduled for October, hoping that gets pushed up.

I'm wondering if the decision to sell the last two as a Commander class set was possibly because they might have run out of Voyager/Leader slots for the line, opting to go with other Voyagers/Leaders to add more diversity to the line to avoid having too many green & purple guys on the shelves at the same time. :-?

I feel it might be due to engineering reasons. Long Haul and Hook being the lower torso/upper body means they have to hold together. Plus being CC means they can be on par in terms of detail without sacrificing design.

Yes, but, they are being sold together for the cost of a single Commander release. Individually they might have worked as two Voyager-sized Leaders, so that's why I'm thinking Hasbro may have not wanted to take up two more Leader class slots for them both.

They should have sold all the Constructicons together as next year's titan, like they did with CW Devy. We haven't had a SS86 titan yet.

It would have allowed those who wanted them to get them all at once, and it would have freed up deluxe, voyager and the CC slot for next year. Unless they had no other huge TF in mind for it. *coughcoughPMPrimecoughcough*

Doesn't this work out better in our favor? Two Leaders would cost us $110, but a Commander is $90, saving us $20, we should be thankful for that.

You kinda answered your own question at the end, there's only one Titan slot at retail per year and it goes to the "main line", and that will likely be Primus (or someone else related to him since a lot of people think Primus is the next HasLab) to go with the 13 Primes theme. Plus we'll almost certainly be getting a toy-style box set like the Stunticons later. Also, people are weird and would be upset if "Titan" was associated with a 12" combiner even if it did save us money in the long run.

I'm honestly surprised they said anything at all about the Constructicons, especially the Commander Class considering it's only been a few weeks since they officially announced Prime! That's just crazy!

Here are some thoughts I have about the Constructicons.

Bonecrusher and Scavenger are most likely only including their own, small blaster weapons; Of course each could involve a built-in, extra part for combining, but imo there's no way that forearm pieces or hands can be included at the deluxe price point.
These arm bots basically utilize their alt modes for the combined form, so I hope a good portion of their budget has gone to size.
The Constructicons aren't too much shorter than Soundwave, so fingers crossed these are slightly larger deluxes, relatively speaking.
I'm assuming the combined form will probably be the same height as Menasor, but I don't think anyone would be mad if Devastator was a bit taller.

Obviously the leg bots are basically triple changers. I'm predicting that the upper thigh parts for Devy are separate pieces that are included with the CC pacakge... For one, I don't want to see these two suffer like the leg bots of Titan Predaking with large parts of kibble. Not to mention, I don't see how having those parts permanently attached to those figures would even work (for either mode).
With this, if the thighs are separate, then Long Haul is freed from both of those pieces and his design won't have to be compromised as much.
The budget for Scrapper and Mixmaster should be devoted to engineering; not super easy, but I'm betting Devy has ankle tilt/rocker joints.
Also, these two are going to need to be really stable to support the other bots and help with pose-ability when combined. So again, the budget can't be stretched to any combiner parts; it all has to go towards the figures themselves.

Basically the same can be said for the last two of the CC package.
I'll add in this opinion-- I truly don't care if the combiner parts for Devastator are used for anything else. At all. I don't need or want the upper thigh or forearm parts to be extra "weapons". I don't need the large chest plate to function as "a pair of wings". I get if these parts double as other stuff, it adds "play value". But for me, pieces that are specific for a combiner can serve that one, single purpose... And that's more than okay. Transforming figures... Multiple figures that combine to a much bigger bot... That's more than enough gimmick for me. This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't need Devastator's head to be a part of Hook. That's not an easy part to hide in a figure that doesn't have a lot of bulk in either mode.
Back to the CC package; it's essentially going to be two voyagers, especially in terms of engineering ($70), and all of the combiner parts ($20).
Imo, if it doesn't include all of those pieces, then it's too much of a stretch to be a CC release.

I have really high hopes for this set... One specifically is that the individual bots are quality figures. I'm so ready to get two sets.

Saborblade, I think you could be right. We're also talking six figures unlike most combiners made up of five. Along with all of the contents working in terms of price point, CC helps to complete the set sooner, and frees up two other slots in SS.

Devy will be ONLY 12"? Are you sure? (Unless I missed the info) That's way too small! As is, the CW version scales well with the leader Dinobots, so if I do get this new Devastator, he won't be on my movie shelf.

And Primus SHOULD be a HasLab instead of taking up a Titan slot.

12" is the current standard for combiners across everything (aside from Core, obviously). Even MPG Raiden is 12" and doesn't scale well at all with other MPs as a result, they wanted him to be the same size as the Generations combiners.

I almost mentioned this in my last post, but it was long enough...

Unfortunately, this new Devastator is not going to scale real well with the Dinobots. Even if it's closer to 15", that will still look too small.
Think about it; the limb bots could be larger than the Menasor limb bots. But in combined form, those benefitted from Motormaster's trailer. Devy's arms will be the construction vehicles with the added forearm parts and hands. Scrapper and Mixmaster will need the extra thigh parts to make legs that are as long as Menasor's. Even stacked together, Hook and Long Haul will basically be the same height as Menasor's torso.
I'll be shocked if this Devy is 15" tall. Happy for sure, but shocked.
My Menasor is 13" and that's because of the add-on kit I have.

The silver lining is that I'd guarantee this new version will overall look just as good, be more stable, and easier to pose than the CW offering.
I'm betting (but can't guarantee) that the individual bots are better overall; the likenesses will be on point, Long Haul won't stick-out as an oddball, and the articulation of all six will be much better than the CW versions.

There has been more than enough from Hastak to legitimately build my confidence.
And while no mainline figure is ever perfect, there's no way we're getting a combiner in 2025 that isn't really good.

Which imo is a sign that it hasn’t been a big deal, or at least not a big enough deal for lots of people to complain about.

Which imo is a sign that it hasn’t been a big deal, or at least not a big enough deal for lots of people to complain about.
And it makes sense for Devastator to be about the same height as Menasor, yes?

That depends…
Sure, if you’re looking at SS86 as a subline that should be a continuation of and/or be aligned with those G1 releases of the mainline.
But not necessarily, if you’re one who thinks everything in SS86 should scale with each other…. Every box minus Core class says something to the effect of, “Detail, scale, backdrop”.

I’m going to be okay if this Devy is the same size as Legacy Menasor.
If he’s bigger, great. But I’m not going to be bothered either way.
Especially because I’m confident this is going to be a really good set of figures with a solid combined mode.
