He's a pretty cool little combiner. I like him, but then I'm bias towards combiners in general.

Cheap plastic, crappy stickers.

Looks like Superion, but the originals are clearly "superior"!

If you mean the micromasters currently released under the Universe line (available in Europe in Cybertron packaging), remember these are oooold molds. On the one hand, they've got decent little details. On the other, they don't so much look like humanoid robots to me as much as usuform robots (and who the HECK decided to name the helicopter Ro-Tor after the Go-Bot?!?).

As for the combiner parts linking up into a "jet" that one of the individual parts can pilot... I'm actually on the fence about that. I usually prefer as few separate 'connector' parts as possible, but these don't pretend to come from nowhere - they actually are physically there when the gestalt is uncombined.

I saw a KO G1 Superion Set at my local Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market. He came in an Easter Basket. I didn't bother picking him up because I believe the colors were wrong. Kinda wonder if I should have. :-?

Strange person...

I like the Micromasters combiners becuase they're Micromasters, and I have always liked Micromasters.

However, all of them ('Devastator', 'Superion', the train one) Suffer from rather poorly desinged individual tfs, especilly in robot mode. They also posess some of the more unique and clever Micromasters. Inshort, they are very hit and miss. Except the train one. Every single member of the train one is a lazy design (at least the version I got, I got the reissue of the orgianal Japanese ones, rather than the remolds that Hasbro used).

They all look rather good combined, especilly compaired to other micromasters, which they utterly dwarf.

I like 'em on the whole. Sure, some of the robot modes are a little odd (like the ones whose front portions form the lower legs), and sure, their articulation's a bit limited (but then that could be said for a lot of the old moulds), but they're cute little figs. They have nice vehicle modes, decent looking combined modes, and have the advantage (as Valandar pointed out) that nothing's wasted - all the extraneous parts actually have a use even when not combined. I may be a bit biased, I too have a thing for Micromasters.

Valandar wrote:who the HECK decided to name the helicopter Ro-Tor after the Go-Bot?!?

They didn't - the Go-Bot was called Cop-Tur. Ro-Tor was the Vortex repaint in RiD.

**Woo-hoo 100th post**

Actually, i just picked these up last nite. $4 bux each. They are just to swell the ranks. I hate the re-named-ness of it all. I mean in the origs Silverbolt was the Concord, now it's Skydive. Beh, i just leave the individuals un-named and have a new Gestalt warrior. I'll work a back story out later.

'sides in the orig (Japan) the individuls had no personality, so mine don't either.

You know on a lot of the combiners (like the Scramble City-style ones etc), where things like the gestalt's head, hands, feet, chest plate have to go into Trailerland till they combine again? With these guys the extra components (head, chest plate, thighs, hands, feet, gun) all combine into a jet mode which one of the Micros can pilot. The same goes for the Build Team and Turbo team, although not for the train teams. Their bits turn into weapons for some of the vehicle modes.

Meh, I got one for $5 on clearance. I got the toy, my wife ate the candy. I'd never had the original, so I thought it would be cool to get this.

I was wrong. SUPER cheap plastic, some fo the halves of the figures don't stay together, and the stickers are terrible. They do combine, but I can't get mine to stand up.

No, the Micromasters have one thing the Minicons will never have, and that's a place in my childhood.

Also, they tend not to be AS ugly as some of the minicons are, and they never spoilt the looks of larger robots.

well all I have to say is that I got 3 of the rail bots,
3 more to go!!!!! I didn't like the face of the aerial bots.
I wish I could have gotten Devastator, he is the coolest of
the 3 imo. it's that evil look man, looks bad@$$!

this will be my 2nd gestalt ever!

as I kid I had only one, and it was one of those
knock offs. But very cool.

it had an eagle for a torso (open the mouth and the
face is there like Voltron/Snag)
a shark for each arm with launching fists/shark heads
4 tigers to form the legs (2 L&R leg, 2 L&R foot)

We're not talking about the G1 Superion knockoff.

We're talking about the OFFICIAL repaint of the Micromaster Sixwing that was released under the Universe line as "Universe Superion".

For some reason most of the TrUs here STILL have Micromaster Deverstator, even though they came out in Energon packaging, and I havent seen anything else energon in over a year.

I am now officially 1 bot away from Gestalting :)

I love that they are mini, yet still gestalt to a decent
size!
now it looks to me like many of the parts can be
interchangeable AMONGST the gestalts, like hands, head???
maybe more?? that would be sweet!
I know the foot pieces between the aerial bots
& rail bots look different unfortunately!

anyway from what I gather

Devastator LOOKS AWESOME! the best devestator I've seen.
Defensor looks awesome too!
3rd is the one I'm collecting, Rail bots,
his color scheme is blah, but I do like trains better
than the cars. his face is not as cool as Defensor's.
last is the aerial bots, their gestalt face looks horrible.

if I could get Devastator believe me I would. no where to
be seen.

just aerial & rail bots.

quick findings:

Defensor & Devastator are very similar in their gestalt
methods, however Devastator is the improvment of the 2.

so maybe these 2 can interchange parts.

the Rail bots the ones that I have, the gestalt parts
DO NOT form a starship unlike the above 2

however his name: Railracer or 6train(Japan)
is one of the more solid gestalting bots from this
line.

I like that he is made of trains,
his hands look like he is flicking you off,
his face is pretty cool looking,

but but, his parts won't form anything???

I thought the hasbro released train one had the same connecting parts as the others, or did you get a Japanese one?

EDIT:

This page shows you what you can do with the spare parts if you indeed have the same version I do.
