Moonbase2 wrote:Spiderman 3 was THE movie for me this year, followed by Transformers, VERY closely behind. I'm glad they are both on the top of the heap. I know SM3 was a big disapointment to some, but I still love it. Shrek 3 I can do without, as well as Pirates. But I'm thrilled that TF has done so well. I remember some movie analyists saying it would be a big disappointment, so I was really rooting for it.
Ericus Prime wrote:Well, the recently announced IMAX showings should help tickets sales, I wouldn't be surprised if it tops Pirates, (no offence to Bruckheimer, Depp, and folks). By the way, my local theatre only has one showing for Transformers, so this may be a sign that it's run is nearly over.

No Doubt...I think it might even help it get past Spidey. I think it's clever marketing, pull the film from theatres for a month, then bring it to IMAX and then also add more scenes.
I could see this doing $35M in Imax sales.
