You mean like Classics Bumblebee? He's basically a MP minibot. Sort of.

Personally I'd love to see either Soundwave, Shockwave, or perhaps Galvatron get a MP release. A gestalt would be good in theory but I couldn't see it work well in practice.

Well, I think the Predaking fandom is well justified. You can't look in any direction on these boards and NOT find some PRedaking worshipping. I know that that's what your point was leaning towards Swerve, I'm just saying.....

As far as an MP gestalt, MP Predaking is already in existance, becuase no matter how people want to complain about his being heavy due to his die casting or whatever. The metal G1 Predaking more or less is as close to gestalt perfection as we're ever likely to get.

But for a Masterpiece gestalt, I'm not the biggest Devastator fan but he is/was the first, and if any of them got MP'ed, it Should be Devastator. And, I think that would be the best damn MP ever. Either Devastator, or the equally menacing Waspinator.

I hope he looks something like this if they ever did him that is, hey anyone know someone who has a kitbash of constructicons made out of alternators? Or a devestator made out of alternators to reference wht he'd look like and how tall he'd be, now that would be a challenge wotrthy of a botcon award..!!!

unfortunately, one of the only people I knew of with the vast talent to accomplish this very well, is no longer around...

You are kidding, right? Right...?

Waspinator? Menacing???

Did I miss something in Beast Wars about Waspinator ruling the Predacons and taking on Optimus primal one-on-one?

MP Constructicons are actually my greatest fantasy. I think the previous thread was deleted during the reset awhile back, so it bears repeating: "I want a full set of MP Constructicons that combine into an MP Devastator. Yes, he'd be about a meter tall, and I want him that way; I want my Devastator to be able to beat up small children."

The main problem with MP Devastator is that engineering one MP figure is hard enough, but now you have to engineer six... and they have to connect to each other to make another, bigger, more complicated MP figure. It's certainly possible, but it's a matter of timing. Takara probably wants MP figures to be released regularly, and developing the Constructicons would take more time than a normal figure. Plus, if you didn't design them all at once, how would you know if Devastator would work or not? And if you did release them all at once, would that clutter the market? Or is there enough people willing to spend $600 on the complete set packaged together (I obviously would, but that's beside the point). There's logistic problems besides engineering problems.

MP Constructicons and MP Devastator get the, "Maybe Someday," award. For now, I'm still leaning towards Prowl and Soundwave for what I expect to see next.

ditto, but I think if they released alternator/BT sized bots 2 at a time in a box, then the price would hit us slowly and not break the bank, plus it would sell easier being cheaper and they could include the finished gestalt image of deverstator on the back of the box which shows that each release is needed to complete the badest transformer ever..plus the final Devestator should have a revolutionary joint system similar to revoltech but on a larger scale for devestator to have good and striking articulation.. their engineers at takara/tomy could figure that out I'm sure..

I still am wondering if there is an alternator custom devestator out htere.. or if anyone has the cahones to work on this project.. i would love to see it..
sorry about TFmaster he would have jumped all over it, though.. he will be missed..

I'm pretty sure I never said anything about Waspinator. I don't even really like Beast Wars, let alone enough to say that any deserved an MP.

No, I brought up MP Waspinator, jokingly. I thought it funny that the universes' least durable robot would be given 'masterpiece' caliber durability.

Far as Predaking goes, yeah, he is overrated as a character, just like Grimlock and Sunstorm and Ultra Magnus. I just ment that as a toy he is hard to beat, and as a gestalt he's probably damn close to perfection. My opinion at least, and at most for that matter, but I find him second to none. Not iconic, not by any means, but perhaps the top of the line as far as combiner groups go.

and speaking of TF master his legacy lives on, here is a link to some of his customs, and in one I see a good representation of a posable Devastator.. check it out by following this link:

Bump? Why bump?

Because Skywarp has been released, and sitting pretty in my living room. So as per my projections, I expect an announcement for MP-07 soon, and I want to remind people of the speculation that has gone on about this announcement.

And yet, things have occurred since then to add fuel to the fire. Takara/Tomy has not been feeling too well, and dare I say, the Masterpiece Collection may be in danger. Generally speaking, if you have a low-cost product, you want to sell it for a low price and rely on the volume of sales to make a profit. For more expensive items, the lower volume of sales means that each unit sold has to bring in a bigger cut.

Now, I don't pretend to know Takara/Tomy's finances, but it may be worth investigating whether changes will be made concerning the Masterpiece Collection or if it will be *gulp* discontinued. It could result in more "cosmic rust" flaws as costs are cut for production, or fewer models released per year. Or, a potentially dangerous option would be to increase prices, which might be able to get them some more money, but could also kill their sales.
