Episode 65 (series finale) -
Jumping right into the battle, skipping over any onscreen arrival of the Autobots on the ship.
The very first scene is the "final battle" clip from before.
Once more, no opening sequence.
Too bad Megatron can't fly in robot mode. Optimus has that advantage, at least.
Or... he did. While Megs can still fly in vehicle mode. The tables have turned.
The idiom "Over my dead body!" gets yet another Cybertronian equivalent: "Over my sparkless husk!"
Soundwave, ever the GroundBridge troll.
Jack is seriously wanting to fight Soundwave. With backup.
YEAH! APEX ARMOR MIKO! She's Jack's backup.
Brilliant! They sent Soundwave to the Shadowzone! That is so BRILLIANT!
If there were ever a time for Soundwave to saying anything again, it'd be here, since he's trapped in an eternal purgatory and free to yell in outrage all he wants since no one will hear him.
Smokescreen's got the Star Saber! I like how he seems to have little difficulty carrying it.
NO! He's been hit!
Whoa! Go Bumblebee! He suckerpunched Shockwave right in the eye.
Bee's got the sword! Hurry! Get it to Optimus!
BTW, Optimus has been doing quite well against Megatron on his own, with needing the Star Saber. Not even against the Dark Star Saber.
No... NOOOOOOOO! BUMBLEBEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
DON'T DIE, BEE! DON'T DIIIIIE!!!
O, almighty Omega Lock, revive our fallen hero, imbue with life yet again, let him be restored by Cosmic Wisdom and Power!
Hello! My name is Optimus Prime! You killed my mascot! PREPARE TO DIE!!!
I want my mascot back, you spawn of a glitch!
INCONCEIVABLE!
Behold! A dramatic moment in history! The fantastic birth of Beeimus Prime!
At long last, after thousands of years, Bumblebee finally gets vindication for what Megatron did to his voice back on Cybertron during the war at Tygar Pax.
"You took my voice. You will never rob anyone of anything ever again!" - This is the single greatest Bumblebee of all time, counting all of his appearances in this show, the other show, the games, and the novels.
Starscream is in disbelief and utter shock of Megatron having been defeated. He even seems... saddened by it.
He cries out in outrage that he will avenge Megatron, his master. Shockwave, however, stops him and forces him to retreat.
That's Will Friedle voicing Bumblebee. Better known as Eric Matthews from
Boy Meets World, Terry McGinnis/Batman from
Batman Beyond, Ron Stoppable from
Kim Possible, Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes) from
Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Doyle Blackwell from
The Secret Saturdays, Lion-O from the 2011
ThunderCats remake cartoon, Deadpool from the
Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, and more. Though he's no Johnny Young Bosch, his voice and mannerisms make it easy for me to imagine WFC Bumblebee's voice maturing into this voice.
LOL, Starscream and Shockwave have to share an escape pod.
Say, where's Knock Out?
They don't enough Cyber-Matter to shoot at all of Cybertron's surface (since, in this continuity, Cybertron is much much larger that Earth), so they gotta shoot at the Core, at Primus's heart. Say hello to the Well of All Sparks.
And, appropriately, the Core retains its War for Cybertron design.
Ah, there's Knock Out. On the bridge with the Autobots, and they're all rightfully weirded out by his being there.
Knock Out: "What, I'm joining the winning team!"
Apex Miko:
*PUNCH!* -
Oh my, Predaking made it back to Cybertron. Guess he hitched a ride on the outside of the Nemesis.
And there he goes.
Team Prime must return to Cybertron to rebuild. Jack, Miko, and Raf are gonna become semi-official members of Unit:E as "consultants" (until they're of age to become agents). Same with Ratchet, he feels he is needed on Earth.
What, Smokescreen's not gonna say goodbye to Jack? Jack bonded with him, too. Not just with Arcee.
Fare thee well, Autobots. 'Til all are one.
That was very very VERY satisfying for an ending. So much got done in about half of an episode, and then the rest was the final capping off. Seeing Bumblebee, of all Bots, be the one to slay Megatron was an unexpected yet very gratifying treat to behold. And Starscream actually feeling distraught over the loss of Megatron was the icing on the cake. Will Friedle was a perfect choice for Bumblebee and delivered his performance quite nicely. Seeing Ratchet both care about Earth/humanity to the point of willing to pay the ultimate price for it, and choosing to stay behind on Earth was so wonderfully handled and shows just how far he's come from the anti-human grump he was back in episode 1. And... agh, there was just so much awesome in this one! Soundwave being sent to the Phantom Zo--er, I mean Shadowzone, Apex Armor Miko's return, Smokescreen going for the Star Saber, Optimus not needing the Star Saber for most of his fight with Megatron, Knock Out being Knock Out, Predaking being allowed to go live his life freely, Cybertron being restored, the Nemesis being commandeered by the Autobots, Starscream and Shockwave getting away humorously, it was all just so GOOD!
And with that, it is over. All that remains is the epilogue film that was made as an afterthought, coming later this Fall. Till then, Transform and Roll Out!
