Say what? I must investigate this when I get home.

The Wheelie heels too.

OK... So I own a complete G1 Skorponok and a G1 Mindwipe: both Headmasters. Skorponok, especially, I've owned for quite a long time.
Yesterday, I picked up the KO headmasters set, and while playing around with them, I noticed something I'd never ever seen or realized before with my original Lord Zarak or Vorath. Yesterday I found out that Headmasters evidently have flaps on their backs to cover the large face while in alt mode.

I actually had to check Vorath to confirm that, yes, he also has this feature

Yeah, I fell prey to that a couple of months ago playing with me G1 Hardhead.

More recently, I realized I was a victim of never flipping around the forearm guards of Classics/Henkey Inferno/Pyro. It's such a simple little thing that makes it look so much cleaner.

See, these kinds of things are specifically _why_ I read the instructions, if only once.

OK, so maybe part of it is from working in tech support, where there's nothing more annoying than being asked a question which is answered on page 1 of the manual.

But still, when it comes to commercial products, you never know when the designer or the cost-cutters or the marketing department have thrown in something unexpected or a slightly different way of handling some standard function. I'd rather not be stuck thinking I have a broken or low-quality product for years merely because I didn't read the instructions.

Where is this hunchback joint on Shockwave?

Today I just found out that Classics legends-class Red Alert's legs will separate. I've owned the toy for two years almost, put reprolabels on it and everything, looked at NUMEROUS photos of other toys of the same mold, but it never dawned on me that I was missing the last part of his transformation. It didn't help that his legs were so tightly held together that I had to get a knife in there to pry them apart.

Oh, and I just recently discovered that WST Red alert's shoulders pull out, which allows his arms to swing forward.

I agree but sometimes things are left out of instructions, like the tiny flaps on ROTF Sideways's chest.

I recently discovered that THS-02 has a flip-out support under the cab-end of the trailer so it doesn't tip up like G1 Prime's trailer does. Also, if you open the two halves of the trailer quick enough it triggers the ramp to extend.

Hold him facing you, near the neck and near the hips. Bend him forward. The hidden joint is where the purple (or gray) plastic of his chest meets the black plastic of his belly. It's only one notch, but it gives him a lot of character.

It's kinda like Deluxe Animated Megatrons hunch joint.

Oh man, that's awesome - my Purplewave has a floppy head in Shockwave mode, and this makes him look like Igor. "Yethhhh, Mathhhter..."

Speaking of Animated Shockwave, I never realized until yesterday that the part of his hand/forearm that his 2 fingers that don't form Long Arms hand are attached to isn't a single solid piece and in fact has a hinged piece that allows it to move around free of the half with Longarm's hand.

It took me a while to figure that out too. Which is pretty bad since it's required to transform him into the altmodes properly.

Um, that hinge is used for the transformation to tank mode.

Both of you don't: even though the whole piece is highlighted, only the claw part is moved in the instructions.

Don't be, it's another one of those faults the instructions have; Highlighting enitre pieces while only part of it need to be moved. Began all the way in G1 :P

I didn't realize you can flip out WFC OP's "knee pads" to form his tail lights in alt mode, until I saw a pic of his alt mode's back view in a CDX review. The instructions didn't even mention that, and the pic in Seibertron gallery also didn't show it with the kneed pads flipped up.

Wow! Learn something new every day! Thanks for the Shockwave "hunch joint" and Inferno forearm kibble tips!

OK, here's one for ya.

Today I discovered that the black plastic covers on the backs of ROTF Thrust's knees actually hinge upwards, like the thruster covers on the back of a Gundam's calves. This not only looks cool, but allows you to pivot the foot forward, causing the gunmetal gray inner strut of the leg to fill the space that the cover was in. This gives the legs less of a straight, stiff look and makes them look more curvy and stable. Of course the same also holds true with his Autobot clone brother Breakaway.

All the Scramble City combiner team leaders (Hotspot, Silverbolt, Onslaught, Motormaster, Scattershot and Snaptrap) had one and (I believe) they could connect to Metroplex in someway in this base mode.
