More important, you say? Then explain how, between the two, WFC gets the most praise, and Prime gets the mixed reception?

Yes, but it didn't become a hit until 2011.
Here's an example of an early reaction to Darkness Rising:

It kinda does considering how the game coming out first gave it more time to become more widely known and acclaimed.
The fact of the matter is, between the two, WFC has been almost unanimously loved, while Prime less so. This site alone is littered with posts that say things like "I hate how they're trying to shove the amazing War for Cybertron game in with that awful Prime cartoon. The two should not be forced in together!

" I myself don't think this, but many others here do.

Green Lantern was "bigger" than
Captain America just because it hit theaters first

In that case, however, it was reversed. While Green Lantern came first, it was met with mixed reception, whereas Captain America came later and was well received. It's a backwards comparison to this case.
