Considering the naming conventions, I would just put all Hot Rod / Hot rodimus / Rodimus Primes on one list. That also makes the list much more subjective, instead of only having like 5 spots with 2 honorable mentions and boom you have all the toys of the character on the list.

Also, don't forget Core Hot Rod next year too

I mean MP Optimus Primal is a $150 voyager, people don't mind.

Pretty cool that we are getting 3 more Hot Rod toys next year. And with Hot Rod being one of the main characters in Cyberverse, there are so many more toys of him out there than when this list was written.

Too bad none of those Cyberverse toys were great though.

Seriously? There is no contest with Commands Rodimus. He's excellent and will continue to be excellent for the foreseeable future.. For $80 he's better than both Masterpieces and I really like MP-29.

Is there a better Rodimus out there than him?

SS86 Hotrod is nose-to-nose with him.

But as RODIMUS PRIME, the PotP leader is pretty damn awesome in it's own right. But of course, it's not even coming close to the perfection that is the Kingdom Commander.

If we're going to compare Studio Hot Rod against Commander Rodimus I'd say Rodimus wins.

Studio HR has that yellow block in vehicle mode. It mars it enough to put it below Rodimus in terms of perfection. Even Reprolabels couldn't fit it.

SS86 Hot Rod is pretty damn good. I preffer both to their MPs (I even preffer Animated Hot Rid to the MP). I do have issues with Rodimus' alt mode though and those holes on his upper chest.
But they did that Quintesson transformation, its sooooo good

Hot Rod is really good yes. But Rodimus I think is better. Hot Rod is still has some issues, and the fake chest which while not terrible in and of itself still deducts some points and yes the yellow hinge in the middle of the car is a bit distracting.

Rodimus does everything just a bit better.

PotP is a lot of fun. I love messing with him a lot. All his modes are solid and just has a lot fun things going for it. Its still a good choice and you get a lower priced alternative with both Hot Rod and Rodimus. Incidentally it always reminds me a bit of Brave Exkaiser.

All in all, I still think Commander Rodimus is the best Rodimus we have gotten from Hasbro, beating both MPs easily.

Don’t expect hasbro to give us a better version any time soon. It just has so many interesting bits going on and the transformation is really involved but is not annoyingly complex. The car mode really melts into the robot mode with only the front tires and spoiler being evident.

If I were to nitpick him, i think the feet are the weaker part and they simply go nowhere in Car mode. The slots for the windshield on his chest don’t bother me really, and i don’t really see how they could have been avoided.

If we're talking about Roddy's chest slots, I don't think they're needed. I don't think the windshild would have been especially gappy without them. Or even if there were just two of them and not four.

I'm definitely happier now with Commander Rodimus than I was when I bought him. Now that the trailer has settled it closes up perfectly fine and mine had the big gray hinge on his back assembled backwards, but I shaved it down just enough that I could force it the correct way and now he's a lot of fun. I would have preferred an alt mode that's more screen accurate, but it's Kingdom not SS, it's fine.

Mine closes fine too now.

Took a while for the sides to settle in.

Basically blast shields up rather than down, tab needs to fit in the slot on the front section.

Out of the box it wouldn't close with all the stuff inside, but after sitting as closed as it would go for a few months now it closes completely. Somewhere during production the sides get slightly warped, but after the plastic has had time out of the box to relax it closes like it's supposed to. Some people were reporting this weeks after buying him, but mine has been sitting on a table since I bought it until I decided to try to fix the back joint a few weeks ago.

More specifically, I think the problem is with how they tied down the trailer into the package. The tie downs caused the 2 halves that close to be warped a little bit near their pointy ends. Mine improved by leaving it closed all the way for a couple days, and that is all it needed.

I think I brought that up after the first iteration of the list was made, but was told he didn't count since he's not a Hot Rod or Rodimus toy, even if he homages them.

Well he's still on my Hot Rod/Rodimus shelf. Along with Armada Hotshot. I have the red versions of both, in my headcanon they're separate characters from the blue and yellow versions, and I do call them Hot Rod.

I like to open all my toys, but I've kept MP Roddy MIB for this reason. In fact, it prompted me to start a small MIB collection for Hot Rod, which is mostly non-transforming merchandise and a couple redecoes of other figures that I already opened up.

I think Excellion Red Version might count as a Hot Rod, even if he doesn't make the list actually. I forgot about him when I brought up Excellion. They're just so similar.

Super Side Burn is in my Hot Rod display, forever in vehicle mode. He likely counts even less, but he's gotta be inspired by HR. I don't have a large enough display for all my Hot Rods.
