Top 50 Animated Movies...

Weapon: Stinger Missile
... and Transformers isn't one of them?

Albeit, the list seems better than most other top lists.

list is here

The movie wasn't good. That's why it didn't make the list.

Transformers was more live action than animated, which is why it never made the list. If it was, you'd have to add Tron, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars, and half the comic-based films to that list.

And saying it didn't make the list because "it sucked" isn't a valid reason, it's ones own personal opinion which isn't greater than any others.

Had this been a top 50 Sci-fi, Transformers would be in there.

I think he's talking about the ANIMATED movie from the 80s :P

And yet you assumed I was talking about the 2007 one. Why? Obviously I was referring to the 1986 one. :P

I figured it'd be somewhere in there for the campy cult fans. I guess it's still being critically panned.

Well if he's talking about a list of animated movies leaving out a movie, that's just kind of putting two and two together...

Looks at list...
Shrek only 30th? It is far better than Ratatouille and Antz.
And Toy Story 2 as first, and Ice Age not even on the list? BOOOO!

It's good to see some animes made it to the list, but Laputa and Nausicaa are far better than Spirited Away or Mononoke.

That's what I thought. Ratatouille on the list?? And Shrek was too low. Mind you, I think these are compiled by user ratings (not Rotten Tomatoes' staff opinions or anything), but still....

Ghost in the Shell is missing from that list. That's not cool. Akira is on the list, that's good, but Ghost in the Shell is missing.

It's like that Yahoo list of the top Sci-Fi movies, and Iron Man was at the top, and Blade Runner and 2001: a Space Odyssey weren't even on the list.

Screw Transformers being on the list.

I'm surprised as hell that Titan A.E. wasn't on there. Hell, I'm surprised Appleseed isn't on there either.

It did bomb in theaters. But if you watch it, it's amazingly well done. Damned good story, damned good animation(the guy who drew Space Ace and Dirk the Daring did the art)

You're great concern for failed cult-classics has brought me back from the dead-- you win a free showing of Titan AE!!

Speaking of cult classics, my favorite movie of all time is the Shawshank Redemption...

It's from Joss Whedon. You can say you don't like the things he does, but you wouldn't mean it.

I don't think that's a cult movie. Can a movie be a cult classic if it was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture? (It only lost because Forrest Gump came out the same year)

Titan A.E. was a box office failure in every expression of the word.

It cost an estimated $75 million dollars to make. It only made $36.5 million total. That includes domestic and worldwide earnings. Average moviegoer ratings are C+ and B-.

Also, Joss Whedon was only one of 5 screemplay writers for it.

And honestly, I remember watching it after it came out on VHS. I really can't remember anything from it. It was forgettable.

Same here. I remember teh eye candy part where Damon's character took the "wheel," but that was it. Visuals were impressive, though, and the basic plot was that the Titan carried aboard it all the DNA for each species on Earth? Something like that?

I remember liking it okay, but not loving it.
