Sabrblade - thanks for the link to the interview.
I might be misremembering it, since I only fiddled with a friend's copy once, but one of Arcee's pistols stores underneath her car mode and tabs into her hands, locking them in place.

OHHHHHH. I will fiddle with that notion, THANKS Metro. That sounds Takara-y to me.Metro Prime wrote:Cobotron wrote:I DID! Very interesting. shockblast2 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:That one we can attribute to TakaraTomy designer Hironori Kobayashi, who designed the figure at his own personal insistence. As it was Arcee, he wanted to give fans the Arcee toy they've been wanting for 28 years, and had to really push for Hasbro to let him design it as close to the G1 animation model as possible, since Hasbro was more wanting an updated design that differed from the original G1 design a la the other Classics-style figures.shockblast2 wrote:I actually wanted the Arcee release to look like her IDW self rather than a mock up of the G1 design.
In fact, Hasbro was even considering wanting an Arcee toy that could possibly retooled into new Blurr toy, but Kobayashi-san, along with Yuki Ohshima, managed to convince them how cool a G1-faithful Arcee would be, and so Hasbro accepted.
Though, Hasbro's Arcee isn't quite an exact match for G1 Arcee, color-wise, what with all the black parts it has. But Takara's Arcee will be colored much more faithfully to the cartoon.

Buy a third party Arcee if you want G1!
I REALLY like IDW Arcee. Even the red over the pink is better in my opinion!

And for the 80th time, I want SG colors as well. Maybe Diaclone too. Or Sixbuilder. Hell, do a straight up limited edition in colors inspired by the last 6 Summer Olympic host cities, I don't care. Just want All The Constructicons.

By the way, when I read that post I took it to mean Blaster, Perceptor, and Tripticon are all going to be one set; crazy right?
ScottyP wrote:I'm not picky on size. I would not rage one bit at a faithful IDW-based version, but I know that this would not make many collectors happy.
My guess is 4 Voyagers, an Ultra to Leader sized Long Haul, and some compatibility in some weird way with the Prowl deluxe Humvee.
Fellas, I'm not far enough in RID to understand much about Prowlastaor. I know he exsists. Im cunfused about your conversation. So Prowl has a new beefy Humvee form? So he is big enough to fit with the Constructicons? But what I really want to know is, do we know there is a Hunvee Prowl toy coming, or is this all speculation? I don't mind any comic spoilers either if thats what it takes to answer the questions. Thanks.SW's SilverHammer wrote:ScottyP wrote:I'm not picky on size. Aren't there only 5 living constructions in IDW? If hasbro's going to follow that, I wholeheartedly subscribe to that train of thought despite what I really want. However, if it's 6 figures, two torso, four limbs, I wonder if they'd make it so that Hook could become a leg, so that that the Humvee Prowl could become the upper torso.

Thanks! Its been bugging me for a while because everyone is so excited about the toy possibly incorporating Prowl. It sounds like a cool story arc in the books, but I just really don't see it happening with the toy. At least, not at first.Shuttershock wrote:Cobotron wrote:Fellas, I'm not far enough in RID to understand much about Prowlastaor. I know he exsists. Im cunfused about your conversation. Well, after Scrapper's death, they tried using his body as a dummy leg, but that didn't work as it was just dead weight. Late in RID Season 1, it's discovered that Prowl has been mind controlled by the Cons, and he's been given a new body (humvee) to act as a prototype for a modular Devastator design that, if it worked, Megatron could take over. This plan was thwarted, but the Constructicons decided to stay with Prowl since they liked his way of thinking, having shared his mind in combined mode.
Point being, with the different body and a healthy dose of mass shifting, Prowl's the head/shoulders, Hook is the right leg, and Long Haul is bigger to fill in the torso a bit.
Thats what I thought. But now I better understand peoples speculation of a Voyager Prowl. That would make sense for a Hummer.Sabrblade wrote:However, the rumored CW Prowl toy is also rumored to be a Lamborghini.

I see. It's cool how his head is a hybrid of the two.william-james88 wrote:And Cobotron, you will notice a lot of people are talking about him transforming into a head, that's because visually, that is pretty much the only part of him that is recognisably Prowl:

I see what you mean, but at this point it's not unheard of. CW has already subbed out Slingshot and Wildrider with new characters, so it's still in the air.
Personally, I'm game for whatever. As a fan of the comics Prowlastator would be neat, but an up to date oiriginal 6 Devastator would be cool also and I can see why some might want that more.
If I had to guess, it'll probably be an all Con Devastator, but that might not mean that the team is re-setting in IDW.
