I think the scene where Optimus is held down by some "energon chains" (I think) and is slapped by Megatron is pretty epic.

@Rodimus, they kind of hinted that there would be some kind of a longer journey in between their departure from Cybertron and their arrival to Earth. Perhaps a WFC 3? Also, I think that it would be really interesting if the Combaticons were deactivated after trying to overthrow Megatron in this game (like G1), and eventually reactivated by SS (also like G1)

To hell with rent! I need to pre-order this game! I wanna see what the multiplayer and the character customization is like! Also: I agree with the comment that this looks like a movie trailer. Better than the trailers we get for the :michaelbay:

This should have been the teaser trailer and the first being released today. Seems like it would have been more theatrical that way.

Did you notice at 1:10 when Megatron slaps Prime that Megatron is STILL HIS WFC SELF?!? He must have been exiled or something by SS and is plotting revenge. Did you also notice that he is NEVER holding his fusion cannon as the FOC version? :shock:

I said the story seems to lead, not that it does lead. I meant that it is echoing the story. The Ark leaves Cybertron, pursued by the Nemesis, they fight and there is references to Earth. Hmm, where did all that occur? Oh yeah, the first G1 episode. I know this is a different Transformers universe but that part of the story is very G1.

No. After the ships take off, they go throug ha space bridge and get separated. The Ark detects the presence of the AllSpark and go after it. However, they are still lost in unknown territory, so the Matrix guides them to a nearby planet: Veloctiron. They land there and seek assistance from its locals, while also causing a stir in the planet's politics. After departing Velocitron, they use that planet's own Space Bridge to reach another part of uncharted space, where they come across the second colony world of Junkion. Meanwhile the Nemesis is tracking the Ark, following its trail. And they're not the only ones. A mysterious third faction is also following the Ark's course, hunting for Cybertronians. A lot in this game is inspired by G1, yes. Homages abound.

What he said. Even the Grimlock section is suspect unless it's a highly cinematic portion. The whole point of a "gameplay" trailer is to show us how the game plays. It's in the name. Yes, I know the game is a sequel and based on the original we have a good idea how it'll play but it's a principle thing.

Anyway, still looks pretty cool. Not day one, 45 quid cool but I'll get it eventually. Love all the nods to G1 in the WFC universe.
