Woo-hoo, now I can go see the film again.
Don't worry, there is now Movies 2 & 3 to look foward to, as the franchise has been proven that it will make serious bucksSkowl wrote:After talking to the staff of my local theatre, they've assured me that this coming week will be Transformers's last in the theatres of my city. It's down to only one showing a day, and will be gone by friday.
The film has also dropped out of the Box Office top 10 for the first time (see this weekend's numbers), a sure sign that the long journey leading up to the film, the first live-action movie in the Transformers franchise, a momentous milestone for the brand, and the main subject of fan discussion for the last few years, is finally coming to a close.
It's been a wild ride, that's for sure, and a great experience for me personally. When I went to Toys R Us a few weeks ago, and found they removed their huge TF display, it really hit home that this whole event that I had been looking forward to for years, that I had invested so much of my personal time and effort into (99% of that effort working here on Seibertron.com), is... well... over.
I probably won't see the movie on the big screen again, and I won't get to sink back in my seat with my eyes wide open and my jaw to the floor (which was the reaction I had during certain scenes), but that's the way it goes, isn't it? Next week, after I take in one final showing of Transformers, I will walk by my local theatre and the movie poster outside will be gone, and it'll be another chapter closed in the ongoing history of the Transformers.
Oh well, there's always the DVD to look forward to... now I just need to get a decent TV

When I first seen Star Wars it was at a drive in theater in 1978
I hope some child will get a chance to see it that didn't when it was in the theaters....and have the same experience with it as I did with Star Wars a long time ago
I went to see Rush Hour 3 on satuday and seen only one poster for Transformers when only a month back there were displays and such all over the place
