IKR? They've die cast in them, lots of details, complex engineering, and paint galore. Yet many are sold at only HALF the price of similarly sized and built G1 and BW MP.

Hope this us a good thread to ask this:
What would you pay for a pre-owned KO MP-36 megatron?
KO version, black box, with all accessories but the box itself is gone. Owner says he paid €200 for it, which seems rather high to me...

Indeed. That was more for Kanrabat's request of the whole Trilogy, than your own. I was actually quite fond of some of the Armada designs (and the Ultra Magnus redeco of Overload from Energon). As far as turning the series into MP level figures, I think the PS2 game would be a good basis for the expected level.

The fact that the show models were 99% accurate to the toys already will make these MP easy to make and hopefully, MPM priced.

Just readjust the sizes to be MP scale, improve on the articulations, and remove all obtrusive gimmicks. Voila! Maketoys Galaxy Meteor show how it's done.

Several of the gimmicks will still have to be included, albeit probably in modified form for some, just because in the case of the Unicron Trilogy their absence would reduce the accuracy.
And one particular gimmick would hopefully be better executed than it was on the original toy.

To make sure the "show accurate gimmick" will not screw up articulations or the character's proportions, all we have to do is remove all spring loaded mechanics and the lights/sounds. If things should move or open, it will be done manually. The function will remain unchanged and no sacrifices would be required.

All variants of MP Prime and Megatron having electronics is practically the standard at this point.

However, it would be interesting to see how they would facilitate the Mini-Con gimmick on an MP level. I think it would actually make the figures even more complex than the originals on that level alone. The whole idea being each bot had a ton of additional features each subsequent Mini-Con would unlock.
Add to that, Prime and Megatron can "combine" with Jetfire and Tidal Wave respectively. Takara have always been sketchy about combiners in the MP line. Armada, and especially Energon, would open up a potential nightmare scenario in that respect.

I think specifically they're leery of the G1 gestalts, especially Devastator (although with UW Devy existing that might have changed).

I don't think stuff like Armada Optimus and Megatrons' powerup combos and the Energon Powerlinxing would make them as leery. The Energon gestalts might, but then again they might not.
The thing about Armada Optimus that would give them pause is whether and how to articulate his Super Pants.

Well to be fair, UW Devesator was designed to be MP Devy, till hasbro asked them to strip back parts count where possible to get to the desired price. Plus we have Masterpiece Raiden which will likely take a similar form (though until we see it, who knows... They might just make Raiden transform into 6 trains and omit individual robot modes)

Wonder when we will get more word on him. I am ready to commit to him, I think he might be the most exciting masterpiece announcement.

One thing for sure. A full MP Raiden with all transforming robots that are show accurate and in scale with the rest of the line will still be cheaper than the G1 original.

At least the existing Energon toys and cartoon models would give them a base to work from.
