Transformers Mosaic: "First and Last Autobot."

Postby Richter » Sun Feb 15, 2009 10:09 pm

The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

It should be noted that while this project has been recognized by IDW Publishing and Hasbro, none of the works presented have been commissioned or solicited by either company. The stories are not official canon, except where noted. These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love. Nice. :APPLAUSE:

Who are all those silhouettes? I can only recognize Vector Prime in that second panel.

Cool! I wish I knew more about the thirteen. I need to do some research (any links would be helpful  ).

Is Optimus Prime the "chosen one" or is that another bot? Who is the first of the first born? I assume the one to give into darkness is the Fallen (as shown clutched in Primus' (?) hand.

I think they were purposely shilloeutted without actually 'being' anyone, because the full 'Original Thirteen' aren't all named. Or in the case of some possibilities don't have a really known form.

In the marvel comic continuity, the autobots are all but defeaten when prime goes looking for the last autobot and returns as an ass-kick-o-saurus to kill the decepticons trying to kill the last surviving autobots (mostly the pretenders.) so yes, he IS the chosen one.

The last Autobot IS the first of the firstborn (13.)

There's the Last Autobot (G1 US Comics), Vector Prime (Cyb.) , Alpha Trion (G1) and Fallen (Flaming bot) in the montage.

I was saying a little more, till I finished waking up and realized that there's no "first Decepticon" in here...

It was very cool seeing that line up (The Last Autobot, A.T. V.Prime and the Fallen all in one frame. I'd love to see just that panel made into a poster.
This is just a matter of curiosity, but wouldn't Soundwave technically be the first Decepticon? He was the one who offered Megatron the oppurtunity for "something more" during the time of the underground Gladitorial Games and I believe that the "new faction" came to full recognition only after the core of their army had been recruited through the Games.
But that's just following one series from one comic company. If there is better (more detailed) backstory out there, I'd love to hear about it.

go to transformers.wikia.com and find out what "fans" know in general about the thirteen.

http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Thirteen

“ We are the 13, the first, the forgotten, each of us serving a function vital to the survival of the universe. Each of us designated a Prime and given a function to serve during the long march of infinity. ”

—Vector Prime, "Vector Prime: In the Beginning"

When Primus first created Cybertron, he created a crew of thirteen living robotic beings to man him. These beings, in imitation of Unicron's transformation abilities, were able to change their forms into the likeness of vehicles, weapons, and machinery. They were the first Transformers and all "Primes".

Many of the Thirteen died in a cataclysmic first battle with Unicron, where he was sucked down into a black hole and trapped along with his acolyte known as the Fallen, one of the Thirteen who had turned against his brothers and joined Unicron.

Of those that survived many abandoned their original functions and were lost to time. Only Vector Prime is known to still be following the path he was set upon by Primus.
Note: There are other living, transforming robots created by Primus who predate the thirteen. The Covenant were made on a small moon as the test models, the prototypes as it were, for the later creation of the Transformer race, and the thirteen described here are the first (production run) of the actual race made by Primus on Cybertron. Despite the Covenant, the thirteen are frequently referred to as the "original" Transformers and so will be referred to as such here.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I keep forgetting about wiki. (I'm also a bit "under the weather" so concentration and focus are not coming easily this morning. The extra help is VERY appreciated under the circumstances :P )

That's the inferior wiki. Use this wiki. It's run by the same people who used to run the old one, and has much more advanced TF information.

Only known member of the 13 that appears to be missing is Prima. The very first TF who we saw in the G2 comics.

Excellent mosaic by the way.
