Sabrblade wrote:Yeah, for the Siege Seeker mold, I only bought Red Wing and the Rainmakers since I knew that Starscream and likely Thundercracker and Skywarp would be getting something else later.

That's because he is.
william-james88 wrote:Windcharger.. I mean cliffjumper (the alt mode has me confused)
It's just because they chose not to squish cliffjumper's alt mode this time. But it's his original G1 alt mode. He turns into a porsche 924, while windcharger turns into a firebird. Two completely different cars.

Well the new cards from today, with the new Mercenary faction? The promotional blurb/product description for them BLATANTLY STATES that Mercenaries are going to be a thing in the Earthrise line as well, it's even in at least 1 of the 2 articles about them on this very site, and the preorder descriptions from BBTS and TFSource for the Earthrise figures backs that up. I don't know about anyone else, but I think a Deadlock, Lockdown, or Detritus would be a welcome addition to this overall boring G1-again lineup we have so far, and would easily make up for how overall meh the line looks right now.
I know not everyone thinks the line is meh please don't focus on that part of the comment.
Forgive me, I have been busy at work for the last day and a half, where does the TCG talk about whats going on in Earth Rise? And are we sure it doesnt mean the Earthrise section of the TCG?
Thing is, when the Twincast interviewed the head of rhe TCG they blatently came out and said they don't have an inside track on what Hasbro is doing. The TCG Ratchet (on an action card) we saw leaked was as much a guess because it was an obvious redeco of an Ironhide and we knew one was coming. Don't forget they did a Neeslnoae on the Siege Tetrajet, and there is no Needlenose in that line.
Do I want a Detritus? Oh heck yea. But unless something has changed since their interview, the card designs are just as much them having fun with ideas, and that came from the head honcho's mouth
TRANSFORMERS: TCG – WAR FOR CYBERTRON: SIEGE II MERCENARIES
(Ages 6 and Up/ Approx. Retail Price: $3.99/ Available: 11/08/2019)
The Mercenaries are coming to EARTHRISE product in 2020, but fans can get the first taste of them with TRANSFORMERS TCG - WAR FOR CYBERTRON: SIEGE II.
As the battle rages through space, success depends on who can best adapt to the battlefield beyond. But it's not just the battlefield that commands adaptability. Allegiances can shift just as rapidly, with a new Mercenary faction introduced into the Earthrise world alongside the Autobots and Decepticons.

And the same **** Geewun forms aren’t? I mean come on, this was agolden **** opportunity for Hasbro to do something unique with Wheeljack and Bumblebee; one of them a character we have been inundated with since 2007, and the other a character we get every few years in some toyline or another.

I never said the G1 designs weren't ridiculously dated, no disagreement there. But they are a hell of a lot more marketable to kids than the MTMTE cybertronian designs. Kids can look at Earthrise Grapple and know that it is an older style crane. Kids will look at MTMTE Jazz and ask, what the heck is that, a shoe? (Real feedback from a real kid on that comment.)

I doubt it some what, we could even get some brand new characters or other classic characters reset as mercenaries, like Sideways, Double Dealer. They could even do a retail Devcon

Armada Sideways would be an amazing figure to update, but I can't really see a second use of that mold outside of Rapid Run

Like the Coneheads, Sunstorm, Slipstream or the 'Welcoming Committee'. They are similar enough in robot mode from the looks of it to not bother me too much.

People will still complain at the lack of Thundercracker and Skywarp. Especially since an earth mode voyager seeker is what everyone's been pining for since the original Classics line.

And Tracks.
Why does everything need to be a retool? Can,t bots just get their own damn molds. We had decades of crappy Cliffjumper placeholders until we got this one. I wouldnt want the same crap with Sunstreaker and Tracks. We have enough placeholders as is.
William, you already know why.
My assertion is based on how they've "been" doing it, though.
Not sure how you figure that? The only molds with no retool are Jetfire and Omega Supreme.

Woah woah woah, the only mainline toy that got a retool when the original wasn't one was galaxy prime. For every other case in the mainline, if they were a unique mold in G1, they got their own mold. So, if we use siege as an example, if Sunstreaker is released in earthrise, he would be his own mold, since that's what he was in G1. Same with Runamuck and Tracks. The ones that are redecos are the same that were that way in G1 (seekers, Ironhide, and even Barricade since the G1 design they based it on was a retoold of a Datsun bro). So once again, I see no sense from customer satisfaction or the ongoing trend to have wheeljack be used to make bots that he does not share a body with. Same with Cliffjumper being used for a BB. I don't want it to happen. I expect similar transformations, but not a reuse of the molds.
Skritz wrote:People seem to forget Crosshair, who is the most 'retool' of all recent retools (even if I personally thing it looks good in robot mode).
