In the last week, I've been able to secure Ratchet and Ironhide, out of the packaging but complete, for decent prices. $61 for Ratchet and $55 for Ironhide. Still a overpay for deluxes, but considering the prices for Ratchet that I've seen have been $90 and up, and $75 and up for Ironhide, I figured I'd jump on these decently priced ones while they were there. Excited to add them to the Siege lineup.

I'm sure this has been discussed repeatedly, but I don't feel like searching through 620 pages, so I'll ask here. Is it easy to remove the "battle damage" from the Siege figures? If so, what tools and/or cleaning agents should I use? This also applies to Kingdom Galvatron, but the Siege figures are the real offenders.

Aside from tools and cleaning agent, you will also want to make sure whether the base color is plastic or paint for the part you want to remove the damage. Case in point, Siege Sideswipe's chest is red plastic painted red. I believe someone wanted to remove the off centered autobot symbol and found out the hard way when it stripped both the symbol and the red base coat.

So I haven't seen this announced anywhere, but anyone who missed out on the Hasbro Pulse exclusive Reflector 3-pack is in luck as it looks like it is getting another run. Both Gamestop and Entertainment Earth have them up for pre-order due in November/December.

I keep resisting picking this up, because I bought three of the base figure, and the only thing I want from the box are the accessories. In particular, the shoulder pieces that form the top of the camera.

I thought this was up a while back. Both this set and the earthrise skywarp/TC 2 pack. Unless this is the third/fourth release of this set.

Not sure, I think this is more recent. The Siege Rainmakers are also apparently getting another run.

Ok then yeah it is what I was referring to. There have been listings for this popping up all year and they have been in our weekly newsletters from various online stores. TF Source had their listing up in february for instance

Hey all, I was just wondering, with Hound being one of the weaker Siege toys, was the consensus that he was still better than the Universe one? I personally preferred the Universe toy's transformation. Both don't look great from the waist down though.

I don't see Hound as one of the "weakest" siege mold. It was still nice to transform with some interesting twists.
Still, It doesn't beat the Universe mold. That mold was simply brilliant and still stand the test of times.

I never had Universe Hound, so I cannot attest to that comparison, but I will say that I think Hound is only held towards the lower/"weaker" end of Siege by people here just because he's kinda boring comparatively, not because he is at all a bad figure. The mold is good, the transformation is fun and integrates the legs in a cool way, he's got solid accessories, the main thing holding him back is the fact that he's just a good G1-ish Hound, which doesn't hold a candle to other Siege figures being the first Generations figures of the characters (Spinister, Rainmakers, Impactor, etc.), the first GOOD Generations figures of the characters (Ironhide & Ratchet, Tetrajets, Soundblaster, Refraktor technically), and new/reworked characters/concepts (Weaponizers, Barricade), since a good G1-ish Hound is something that came out before through said Universe figure.

Only the hoity toity types around here think Hound is "weaker." I haven't held a Universe Hound in a long time, but I remember liking that figure, too. I might have to look at him again for an earth mode Hound since Hasbro apparently won't make one.

I don't think hound is one of the best, but he ain't one of the worst.
Thinking about it, I have a hard time thinking about any Siege mold that is "weak".
Maybe the Cog mold could be the weakest because to make the vehicle, you just tuck the head away and just peg the arms & guns above. It's just the bot riding on his back.

Image

When "transforming" my Powerdasher Aragon, I wasn't following the instructions and all I got were "piles of nothings". Then I gave up, looked up a picture online, then exclaimed myself "THAT'S IT?"

What redeems the Cog mold is the fact that it (along the other weaponizers and the seekers) have a REAL Cybertronian alt-mode.

TlDr; the Cog mold is the weakest of the Siege line. Still, it ain't saying much because the Siege line is one of the BEST line to ever come out with almost only great to mind-blowingly good molds.

I'd say all things considered, he's lets say..."average." The the whole of WFC, or even just Siege he displays well. Maybe his transformation isn't "Cybertronian" enough, maybe you don't like how he transforms but he looks the part and isn't flimsy.

Chromia is definitely weaker...as a toy. She doesn't stand well, she has parts that come off. She's difficult to animate with. She does look the part, as long as you get her standing, though. I agree with her being the 'weakest.'

Definitely. There's 1 steps that make more efforts than Cog to transform. Even the G1 Jumpstarters have a more complete transformation than him.

I own the Chromia mold via Nightbird. Despite the very flawed design of the front hood of the vehicle (which broke on me, requiring a severe custom job to repair), the vehicle is still very good. Plus it's thinner with a reduced backpack due to removing the combiner port.

So, yeah, the Chromia mold could be considered one of the rare weak mold in the siege line mainly because of the ultra fragile front panel of the car. She's the weakest right after Cog.

I don't disagree with any of that. The part I'm not too fond with is how the arms don't really integrate anywhere nor hide too well in alt mode and how the legs are far too wide.

Interesting. I also own that mold via Nightbird, and I feel like the only good things I can say about it are "it is Nightbird and looks the part" and "I like the reconfigurable weapon(s)", compared to the negatives being it doing the fembot-with-a-90%-backpack-alt-mode design again, the weird thing where her waist plate comes off, it being hard to stand, the front of the car being difficult to work with (mine didn't break, but I'm constantly concerned it might), and (I assume this may just an issue with my copy) a flaw in the mold of one of my copy's "grenades" making it not stay together for the alt mode integration/storage. Cog may be on the weaker end of the Weaponizers for sure (I feel like Sixgun and Fasttrack are the only Weaponizers that are good in every mode, although I don't have Slammer yet), but I have never felt like part of him may break at any moment, and his alt mode at least looks the way it does for a reason (that being both to update the original Cog's kinda-nothing alt mode and to facilitate the Weaponizer gimmick), so I would absolutely put the Chromia mold lower.

I thought the consensus was that Chromia was an engineering reuse with only 1-2 shared parts though, not an actual retool of that PotP mold? I don't own any of the PotP mold, so I haven't been able to confirm for myself.

From an objective point of view, Cog has virtually no transformation and his alt-mode is ... questionable. But as an update to an OG toy that had the same problems, he's a brilliant update. I think he's an even better weaponizer than Sixgun and Slammer. So while it's a very simple toy, it's very good for what it is.

Hmmmm......... I forgot the "flying off panties" of the Chromia mold. When I customised my Nightbird to repair her, I also superglued her damn annoying panties in place so I forgot about them.

And yeah, Cog is indeed an ironically accurate update to the original.

So when I tally the points, I can say both are equal on the weak side. One because of the overall quality, the other because of the over-simplicity. :-?

Final verdict, both are equally "below average", but not horrible.

BTW, I much prefer Siege Aragon's altmode compared to whatever the G1 original was supposed to be.
