So, has anybody figured out how to get BigBadToyStore's orange plug out of MP Megatron yet? If so, Lemme know.

However, both will destroy stickers. Gotta just work around the stickers.

When you say destroy stickers do you mean they degrade and remove them or they mess upthe print? What about the effect on paint/plastic?

They erode the print. Googone will just str8 up remove the stickers if you rub with any pressure.

I have the same problem too! I have found this on the net http://wordpress.com/tag/transformers/feed/ saying that it can be removed with pliers. I've yet to try this but am thinking of giving it a go myself as the plug is just plain nasty. :P

Yup just tried removing the plug with needle nosed pliers...and success! Grab firm hold, twist back and forth slowly to break the glue and then pull the sucker out. Et voila Megatron as Primus intended.

Brilliant! I had tried pliers (naturally I was reluctant to use any force) but I wasn't twisting. A few turns, and now I'm in business. Thanks Phantomfish.

Does anyone know of a good place to get replacement screw for G1's? Or even what sizes they used?

Weapon: Dual Impact Maces
Does anyone have any tips to mod Titanium WW Fallen so that the treads stay in place?

I'm thinking of just hot gluing the halves of the treads together. This would mean that they hang down in robot mode. Actually, mine are so flimsy that they hang down in robot mode anyway. So I might as well make them stay that way. Ideas?

Repair Question- Transformer Repairs Not Strong Point.

Postby GremlinGrimlock » Fri Jun 15, 2007 4:06 am

Haven't done models in a while, but have most of the skill.
Picked up nightscream and while figuring him out...snapped,
the legs. This is from the top. What's the best glue? Tried
epoxy,didn't..... . Is option fine metal bracing,with a paint
to restore our friend to his proper appearance?

Much thanks,gremlin.

It's going to depend on the type of joint. Some of them are as easy as disassembling and putting something in to decrease the gap. I've seen a lot of suggestions, but I tend to use tissue paper, as it's cheap, and easy to add or subtract until you get the right fit. It also appears durable, as Divebomb's wings haven't had much of an issue.

You might have to remove pins, which is a pain. Just about all the custom sites have advise on how to do this, but be VERY careful if you do.

And there might be internal hardware missing or worn. That's a tough one, but SOMETIMES you can find decent replacements at hardware stores. Springs and screws are the most likely candidates, but a lot of stores will have employees willing to help you find what you need.

Heck, sometimes even just tightening the screws can make all the difference in the world.

Just make sure to have a nice, clear workspace if you do any disassembly work, and pull pieces apart over the middle of it. There's nothing more frustrating than taking apart an arm and watching as a tiny piece bounces away and out of sight.

Hopefully some of this helps you out!

NightScream Repair

Postby GremlinGrimlock » Sun Jun 17, 2007 9:15 pm

Mucho gracias for the repair procedures. It's not as bad as perceived. It's the femur bone or upper leg bit that connects
to the hip. Split plastic only. Never would of thought tissue
as a joint/fill. Will do the carpentry bit to it. Model glue?
Chap will be up in a bit. Snaps. Cheers. Today was a great
fathers day.......... .

I wouldn't overlook clear nail polish. I have used it successfully in the past to fill in cracks and coat on ball joints to tigten them up a bit.

Heyo, newbie here.

I have a movie Ironhide but the only nitpick I have about the figure is that the parts of his legs that swivel (above his knee joints I believe) are a tad loose. I don't know if this is the same with everyone's as this is my second Ironhide with such. Anyways, if I get too fancy with his poses his legs will swivel out of place and the figure will tumble over.

I was wondering if anyone had a solution to this. I read somewhere that tissue paper is a good solution but I don't want to do something to ruin the figure.

I'm having huge problems with the new voyager class ironhide. I don't have a digital camera, so I will do my best to describe the problem: His waist won't attach to his body in robot mode, and I'm having trouble transforming him back to topkick mode. The doors won't attach to the back end of the truck right.

I also have another problem with the bumblebee figure. I know how to fix it, but I'll tell what's wrong with it anyway: one of the wheels has a bump on it so it won't turn properly. I think I could just sand it down carefully.

Man, why are my movie figures screwed up?

Take the bumblebee figure back to where you bought it and exchange it.

I always keep my receipts. I've worked in retail receiving and I've seen how they treat the merchandise before it hits the shelf. (Least in my store)

Well I don't think that being hard on the box would damage the figure. It's pretty secure in those voyager class boxes. Anyways, I think I'm just going to sit it on my shelf and forget about it. It looks ridiculous, but I don't like ironhide anyway. My sister bought it.

New question.
Is it possible to get g1 sticker sheets? (other than reprolabels) I need 'em for Joyride, Swindle, Kickback, and Blaster.

P.S.
Anyone know good chrome paint I could use for Kickback's wings?
