To make a long story short, i went and checked 1 Toys R Us, 2 targets, 1 Kohl's, and 2 Walmarts in one day.

So, i went into my Toys R Us, and they had the new wave, but someone beat me to the jet, arcee, and BB 08. I picked up the rest of what was available though.

But, i looked down on the shelf, and what did i see? Classics?!

I thought hasbro was finished with 1.0?

-easy explanation, right? It must have been a fluke; maybe some dusty lost forgotton case of classics voyagers they just found and put out or something. odd.

on my way home, i think to myself, "Should i go check the 2nd walmart?.. nah.. " then suddenly changed my mind, and took the exit off the freeway to get there which i almost passed.

I go inside, and 2 ultimate BB's were out, but everything else was bare. Saddened, as usual, i began to leave, when i pass by a stocker person guy, and on a pallet he was pulling behind him, behind plastic wrap, i see "Hasbro TRA.."
..and i'm like

So i go investigate.

What im' about to say i don't expect anyone to believe, but please, keep your eyes open so that if anyone can confirm what i saw, you can say so here.

I saw 2 cases of movie voyagers, 2 cases of deluxes, and a case of scouts! This was huge news for my area. I frantically called a fellow transfan to come and see for himself, and he did. We got help and opened some of the boxes; as he opened the deluxe box, my heart leaped for joy.. and then fell out of my butt.

CLassics?! I realized i neglected to pay attention to the "classics" on the side of the box, i had "deluxe" tunnel visiton. However, they had 2 cases of classics Optimus Prime and Jetfire! and 2 cases of Classics deluxes! case assortment = 2 ramjets, 2 grimlocks, 1 hotrod, 1 mirage, and 2 swindles. I think there was a starscream in there too, can't remember.. So i picked up swindle to complete my collection of classics 1.0.

Then we opened the scouts, and Cybertron?! It was all the ones from cybertron. I thought this line was finished too?!

And last but not least, DVD Prime! 2 cases of them! (didn't get a pic of this though, but it is the case under the voyager classics)

Is this just me or what's going on? A classics comeback? and more?

Is this just a coincidence?

Hell thats a wider assortment than anything I have here.

Besides Wave 2 is just starting to hit. By next week all the bots should be out in mass.

Do you mean Clifjumper, or is thier a classics fig I don't know about?

My guess is that with the movie figures selling-out faster than expected and the troubles they're apparently having keeping shelves filled Hasbro is taking the opportunity to clear their warehouses and using leftover product as space-filler while the brand is hot.

Which TRUs in SD specifically? I've only checked the one in Oceanside, and I only found one Classics Prime there. I'm looking for Jetfire, of course, but having Mirage, Bumblebee, and Starscream as well would be absolutely killer.

The employee helping me get stuff off the palette looked like he didn't want to, most of the boxes were like in the middle, on the bottom. but he did it anyway and i thanked him profusely. I've worked retail, i know what a pain it is.

Thats pretty cool seeing all of those Classics...but i'm just jealous of all the new Movie figures you have there! Hell I havent seen anything new yet at all (though I did find G1 Jazz repaint...odd).

my area has seen a tf drought for quite a long time, so it appears that we are only now recieving a flood of figures; this is only the beginning of it though, as all the other targets and walmarts haven't caught up in shipments yet.

I'd have assumed they were just shelfwarmers if I hadn't been to them a week and a half earlier. That, and the yellow-Scrapmetal wave Cybertron scouts reappearing.

La mesa TRU doesnt even have a spot for the movie deluxes when I was there thursday. I was close to going to national city but since there aint crao I'm glad I didn't.

Im surprised that more stores have not thrown Classics and left over Cybertron stock back on the shelves, if only to stop the shelves being empty.

It's too bad that so many of the excellent figures from Cybertron and Classics are no longer on shelves, many of the newer fans brought in from the movie would do well to own a few of those figures.

Yeah, another guy from the California Sightings thread's been going to the Morena Blvd TRU often, and apparently they keep on stocking the Primes. Last he went he saw something like 12 Primes and 15 Jetfires.

hopefully this is good news for me as I still have to pick up classic astrotrain and bumblebee as I left those 2 on the shelves countless times for some strange reason.
