my knowledge of physics is pretty flawed but i think wavelengths rebound? anyway ever since my white BT meister and Jazz reissue started turning, i shoved em back in their boxes and into the cupboard.

I can't even display my G1 metroplex :-( I don't know how people with G1 jetfires and sky lynxes survive

I know grey changes colour too, my G1 prime trailer looks a slightly yellowed shade of grey to my friends reissue.

Um, I can't remember their names, but wasn't there one involving Red Alert and Starscream? It seemed good when I was a kid anyway!

There was a thread about it before the crash. Basically white plastic discolours with age and exposure to sunlight. That's why it's common to get discoloured Jetfires and Ratchets. However, I think that it's a cumlative affect so keeping the figures away from windows is a good start.

White painted diecast is fine (you can see how discoloured Jetfire's are by comparing the plastic to the paint).

I wouldn't worry that much, it's just something that happens with figures.

Well, I'll take a trip to the VSD to find some Red Alert episodes.

As for the yellowing issue, my Jazz and Prowl should be fine, then?

How far away from windows do they need to be? I have windows in every room and each room is essentially floodlight. At present, my window is on the north wall, my TF shelf is on the east wall at right-angles to the window, about a DVD player's length away from said north wall. This is fun.

Disgruntlement...rising.

EDIT: Just noticed this:

There was one with Red alert and Inferno, I think in the second season, when they started to introduce new characters.

VSD has just give me this option, which sounds excellent:

VSD wrote:Red Alert is damaged after a Decepticon attack and descends into a state of paranoia. Believing his teammates plan to deactivate him, the Autobot security director runs off on his own, but because of the damages, may explode at any minute.

"[...] may explode at any minute"? Sounds like an episode of 24. Without the episode of 24.

They first appeared together in Dinobot Island, and the episode involving Red Alert and Starscream is called Auto Beserk. Season 2 episode 17.

Personally any white figures I own I keep them away from direct sunlight. So you might want to move your Prowl and Jazz?

I've got my MISB Jetfire who's rarely on display as I'm terrified of his snow-white plastic going yellow.

Still, my Alt Wheeljack's been on display for over a year out of direct sunlight and he's still bright white.

I'm not trying to worry/scare you - I just want you to enjoy those great figures you have (okay, I admit I wish I hadn't sold my Jazz and Prowl)

I've just recently had to pack my G1 Jetfire and Wheeljack away. They're not yellow yet, but a Powermaster Getaway I have, which wasn't even in direct sunlight has started to yellow.

Getaway was displayed behind a few figures and this seems to have prevented his feet from yellowing, but his arms weren't so lucky.

Are newer figures just as susceptible to this as G1 figures?

I'm guessing the answer is yes, but has anyone noticed yellowing on figures like RID Omega Prime or Cyb Metroplex?

Unfortunatly, I have no means of purchasing over the net unless they accept Postal Orders. I tried ordering a back copy from the shop I pick them up from a month or so back, but it doesn't look like they will be getting it in.

If all else fails you could try http://www.oneshallstand.com/index.html and ask what payment methods he accepts.

How long is it usually before this guy replies to an Email? I sent one last week and I haven't heard anyhting back yet.

And on the topic of yellowing, my Micron Legends Tidal Wave has some very minor yellowing on his left arm. It faces the window, but now he's hiding behind 20th Prime so it seems to be minimised. You can't tell unless he transforms and you compare the two sides of the flight deck and the con logo.

All colours of plastic can be discoloured by sunlight, it's just that white plastic is most noticable (turning yellow) and I think it's the easiest to discolor too. But with enough exposure most colours will be altered ()usually darkene) by sunlight.

All the same, i know where i'm heading on saturday ;)

Apparently there was one in Reading Tesco (the large one, what are the large ones called? Express? Metro? Turbo?). I didn't pick him up in the end so he may still be there.

I'm guessing from the lack of any news [which I may have just missed... I've been sorely lacking round these parts for a while due to moving house] that there haven't been any sightings of movie toys anywhere in the UK yet? I keep going into Woolworths/Argos/toy shops everyday on my lunchbreak to no avail... even just a protoform Prime would rock my world right now :(

No movie guys in Newcastle FP. Just a bunch of Alts, some red box, some bubble box, classics Hot Rod, Ramjet, Cliff, Mirage, Minicons, Heros of Cybertron, Cyb Metroplex, Micron Tidal wave and a Wheeljack statue.

And my life proved yet again it balances out good/bad luck. A train derailment meant I had to take the bus (oh how I hate the bus and the riff raff of kids that get on it. And the rediculously long amount of time they take to get anywhere) but on the plus side, I found Escalation #3. And it was the good cover (Blitzwing). I also relented and picked up the Kup Spotlight. Glad I did, it was a good read, despite my misgivings about the 'insane' artwork.

I took apart Ultra Magnus's legs lastn ight, and swapped em around, they now look a bit odd, but he now has proper knee movment, and can still transform fine.

For anybody who has seen Titianium Magnus in the flesh, his knees are totaly arse backards...

Im finding it hard to find any TF's in stores around my area AT ALL! I have the classics bumblebee and the twin pack opti' vs megs pack, as well as classics starscream and 20th Anni' optimus all from a regular tesco store apart from the 20th Anni Prime which i got from Toys R Us, an alt wheeljack i got from argos and a rodimus someone bought for me from amazon.co.uk

Apart from that Toys R us only has a selection of Cybertron figures that im not really interested in, and a bunch of g1 re-issues.

Does anyone know of any good sites in the uk that sells a wider range of TF's for decent prices? Otherwise i have to buy off ebay which has a very limited range and con artist people charge waaaaaay too much for shipping!
