Amen! Love the character but not yet. Maybe never for this universe. Just doesnt seem to fit. Plenty of Characters who would nicely intergrate.

Soundwave is almost certain for the second film, although his function in G1 was being loyal to Megatron. Perhaps there will be a plot were Soundwave arrives, seeking revenge for Megatron.
Given Soundwave isn't a fighter like Megatron, I believe he would be a "pulling strings" villian, perhaps he will command the Constructicons/Devastator, or the Combaticons/Bruticus. What wasn't really shown in the first film was the decepticons... backstabbing of one another; thinking one is better than their leader and failing because they aren't a team.
However, remember the plan for an Aircraft carrier transformer? I reckon there might be a very, very large Decepticon in the 2nd film instead of one that's built of smaller robots.
As much as I liked the Dinobots when I was younger, they really wouldn't work in this Transformers universe.
Shockwave would be like Soundwave, so I reckon Soundwave will win (be cool if he had Ravage with him, a vengful, violent yet obeying Decepticon).
As far as Autobots are concerned, I can see Arcee arriving, given she didn't quite make the cut on the first one. There could even be a "relationship" of sorts, between her and Bumblebee, echoing Sam and Mikaela.
Saying we have a few Autobots from the first film (virtually none of the decepticons) there won't be many more added in a 2nd film. I vote Mirage and Arcee.
As for the plot, keep it on Earth; that IS the point of Transformers (as much as I liked the 1980s film). As a kid the most imaginative thing is vehicles and mundane objects becoming robots. Putting it all in space with aliens loses the "in disguise" magic.

Why do we have to have sequels to every great movie. Can we just once have a great movie without making a trillion sequels after it?

Very true, how I regretted campaigning for Matrix sequels

But I think if the cast and crew remain constant through at least a trilogy, it can't go too far wrong (I realise I'm including Spiderman3.. which was poor)

Dinobots, I said I didn't think they would work but IMDB has a quote of Producer Tom DeSanto saying he has ideas for Dinobots and Constructicons. Personally, I think it could be a mistake.

While I love Soundwave, I was hoping the vote would go to a more unique and interesting character for the sequel. I thought Shockwave or Jetfire would be awesome and present more opportunties for the storyline.

Dear god no. Now Soundwave is going to look like a robotic pred alien. If soundwave does make it into the movie and he looks like crap ill never see a Bay movie again and i will lose all faith in the TF movies. Im sure others feel this way to.

But Ultra Magnus would be so easy. Just use the Prime model only replace all the red with white.

It sucks that so many people voted for Soundwave, a character who was pretty much guaranteed by all interviewed sources to be in the second movie anyway. You just threw your vote away, thanks. Hopefully, they'll take the second-place votes into consideration and include Grimlock and Devastator as well. Maybe save Shockwave for the third movie. Or have Shockwave and Soundwave and Starscream battling for leadership in Megatron's absence and save the Dinobots and Constructicons for the third movie.

Ultra Magnus placed higher than Shockwave?!!... oh, that is just so so soooo wrong.

At least Soundwave won, I would have had Shockwave 2nd, but maybe that's just too many "waves" for one movie...

Grimlock would be cool too, but please, no actual dinosaurs in the movie, it just wouldn't fit with the whole movie universe.

I voted for Jetfire, but I'd love just as much to see a "B" story featuring the Autobot race cars (Mirage, Smokescreen, Wheeljack).

I don't think so. Wasn't Frenzy originally going to be called Soundwave, then Soundbyte, then they settled on Frenzy? So I think the realise what a mistake it would be.

They will have to be alot of new Transformers in part 2 cause almost everyone was destroyed or damaged beyond repair. At the end of the movie it showed a battlecarrier and it had Starscream broken remains on the deck and what remained of Megatron being hauled to the bottom of the trench cause it is the deepest part of the on the earth. So I dont know if Stascream is really destroyed or not but Megatron could make a comeback if he absorbs the all spark and re-animates into Galvatron. As for Barricade I do think he was some sort of Autobot Spy he and Frenzy both survived but it is not confirmed about Barricade yet. Here is my list of replacements for Transformers 2

What movie were you watching? Because I was watching Transformers and I saw frenzy's head get cut in half, scorponok escape, barricade dissapear and starscreams head back to space during the credits.
