vector sigma?

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

You like it that much????

its close enough to how i always thought things worked in the comics. i always just figured vector sigma was either the subconcious or the remnants of primus. And its alot easier of an explanation to explain than alot of other possibilities.

some one asked me who made the transformers one day. after 20 minutes i found myself ready to draw charts and graphs, and i hadn't even gotten into japaneese continuity yet :P

Then I'll take it as a complement.

I tried to make my theory universal. So that it could fit most of the continuities with out much alterations to the core of the theory.

Vector Sigma is an ancient and incredibly powerful multiversal super computer which exists across many (conceivably all, though this is speculative) universes. Collectively these multiversal nodes are networked together as the "Vector Sigma Gestalt".[1]

Vector Sigma is generally shaped like a faceted orb. It frequently acts out the will of Primus, and among its other abilities is the infusing of inanimate Transformer bodies with new life. Activating it requires a special circuit key, and possession of the key brings great power.

Tech Spec

Before Cybertron existed, there was Vector Sigma; a super computer of incalculable power. So great was this entity that it could tap into the source of Transformers life itself, the Allspark. Over the eons, Vector Sigma was used by many beings to imbue lifeless Transformers bodies with the Spark of life without judgement. If it was asked to produce noble protectors, it did so. It is was asked to create merciless destroyers, it did that as well. Activating Vector Sigma required a special key, capable of turning organic matter into metal. In lieu of such a key, any Transformer sharing Vector Sigma's computational matrix could activate it at the cost of its own life.

Vector Sigma's influence reached across the multi-verse, where several similar computers would take on its name but serve different functions. In one, Vector Sigma was a computer that all Autobot and Maximal leaders were bonded to. In another it was surrounded by a program known as The Oracle in an age where Maximals and Predacons had taken the place of their ancestors as the primary residents of Cybertron. No matter its location, the very name Vector Sigma has held even some of the greatest Transformers in awe, including Optimus Prime.

I thought Vector Sigma was the only thing that could create Transformers, since it gave them the most important thing: a spark. Without a spark, there is no life, right?

If Megatron, as he boasted so in the 'toon, actually did create the Constructicons, how do we assume exactly? Was it the work of Vector Sigma, or did Megs build them from scratch?

Sorry, this stuff just confuses me.

Vector sigma "is" the "only" thing. except wheeljack when he made the dinobots. or when super smart grimlock made the technobots..

the honest answer is they didn't even have the concept of sparks back then. the occasonal mention of a "lazercore" was it. the whole sparks thing is a retcon, so yeah. don't take it too serious :P

Vector Sigma is not the only thing that can create transformers.Or have you forgotton the Dinibots???

You have to keep in what function Vector Sigma serves. It "PROGRAMS" a TF with life.

Which would mean that its possible for others to duplicate that programing if they are smart enough.

Wheeljack and Ratchet obviously can program life....even if that life has limited intelligence.

When Grimlock was given super intelligence he created the Technobots.

"Sparks" didnt really come around till Beast wars and truth be told its a hard fit into the G1 world.

But I do have some ideas.

If Megatron, as he boasted so in the 'toon, actually did create the Constructicons, how do we assume exactly? Was it the work of Vector Sigma, or did Megs build them from scratch?

Actually Megatron never said he "CREATED" the Constructcons.

Thats a misconception most fans have due to 2 reasons.

1]Megatron used a word that is "SOMETIMES" synonymous with create.

@] they were new characters from the fans point of view so we believed he ment create.

Megatron said he "BUILT" the Constructicons, but "to build" does not always mean "to create".

The shows pre-production bible states that the Constructicons were to be given no origin story when introduced so that they could add to it later.

which they did by showing the Constructicons on Cybertron over 4 million years in the past.

This, combined with the fact that none of the Aurtobots seemed surprised by the appearance of the Constructicons or their combined form of Devestator in their first cartoon appearance suggest that, while they were new characters to us watching the episode, they werent new characters to each other.

Which would mean Megatron ment he "built" them new earth forms.

Sorry, this stuff just confuses me.

No prob.

Oh, no, no, no. I never forgot about the Dinobots, or even the Technobots, for that matter. At the time, it was only Megs and the Constructicons that came to me. :)

sto wrote:Wheeljack and Ratchet obviously can program life....even if that life has limited intelligence.

Now that you mention it, was there a valid reason as to why Starscream was, not only able to replicate the idea, but also succeed it by building/creating (take your pick) more intelligent robots, who could also demonstrate the ability to combine? Is it a "G1" thing? Or am I missing something?

sto wrote:"Sparks" didnt really come around till Beast wars and truth be told its a hard fit into the G1 world.

Oh, I agree. It seems to be pretty troublesome.

sto wrote:Actually Megatron never said he "CREATED" the Constructcons.

That's my bad. I haven't watched G1 in a long while, so I just assumed Megatron said something along those lines. But I am aware of there...unusual origins.

Anyhoo, cheers, Sto!

Actuall scream went back to cybertron and grabbed some personality components and threw them into abandoned WWII vehicles. thats about it.

Scream was a scientist before the war, so i guess he had some aptitude?

If that as the "SAME" team of construticons.

There were 8 green guys in that scene.

Starscream didnt really create the Combaticons.

He stole personalty chips from a prison on Cybertron and gave them new bodies he made out of WW2 wrecks..

That's my bad. I haven't watched G1 in a long while, so I just assumed Megatron said something along those lines. But I am aware of there...unusual origins.

You could choose to believe that.......but theres also the fact that none of the "green guys" in that scene really looked like the construticons.

The bodies were all wrong.
