Basically, veteran means that you've been participating in the battles.

There are those that haven't been participating. There are those that play 24/7. Regardless, I think that it should be designated off of when you started playing. EVERYONE will be recognized.

Title - Time Period
Battle Scarred - Game's Inception
Grizzled - Great Burn
Old Timer - Great Whoops
Vet - Played Prior to V2, but not prior to Great Whoops

Utilizing the color coding from Nemesis Prime, we would then be able to differentiate who's who. I think that this is the fairest way to recognize the players of V1, but not giving too much attention and detail to it.

well when v2 goems out all the EXP you have wont matter right .. and are we measuring EXP by character exp or exp in the game (of which i have lots ) .. and again with v2 - current exp will not matter .. so all we have is Time playing

My team has existed for alittle more than 2 years, and I have a LOT more xp than some who have been there twice as long.

again that is my point - when v2 comes around
ALL the EXP you have right now will not matter

ALTHOUGH, my ideas did gather some comments of support...so?

One has to venture that it's not JUST about XP earned but those that that have been here for a while and played. This basically is nothing more than a "who's who" type of thing anyway. So you could accomplish this with a Hall of Fame or Heavy Metal War Memorial Wall of some sorts?

I understand the pressing need of people with achievements and personal accomplishments (Windracer, Prive, Red--to name a few) to want to stand out differently than just the likes of those that simply played V1. But I think Recognition basically should stem from that fact that V1 is gone, and V2 is upon us. So...we could dwell on the past and specify that it's all about XP/Energon, but I think in all fairness simply going by time is easiest and most fair.

everyone that's talking about time, I can't buy it. Because you've been around a long time and haven't earned the xp, is because you HAVE NOT spent the time. There is virtually no skill that goes into succeeding in this game...xp and actual time spent on the game are pretty much the same thing. basing it on when you signed up is just plain stupid. base it on xp, that best correlates to how much time people spent on this game (instead of sleeping, working, eating, attending my wedding...etc etc)

that said, I don't care too much what the recognition is, or even that it exists, just that it isn't given out for something as stupid as that date y'all signed up. The idea of badges is probably the coolest I've seen...would be a nice sign of respect for having spent well over 10 thousand, and realistically closer to 15,000 (wow, what a waste ) hours on this game.

oh, and archiving the old high scores is a must!!

BS I refuse to see people with lots of free time rewarded for spending a small part of it on this game when those with only a small amout of free time who spemd most of it on here are left out. What you want done Sprockitz is to reward people for spending six of their twelve free hours a day on here while telling those who actualy gave of what they had by rushing home from work every night so they have time to get on and put their bots in missions before going to bed and dragging themselves up early enough so they can put them in before they leave in the morning that there greater effert was not worth it.

So, because I signed up 3+ years ago and only have 3 cons with 1 Million XP, I will get treated differently because I couldn't play as much for a few brief periods because I was, I don't know homeless? That's just stupid.

I have spent a lot of time on this game, but it took a long time to figure out what works and what doesn't.

Like I said, if there is some sort of "veteran recognition" in V2 then it should be fair.

This is turning into the altmode argument and is going nowhere, OS has already said it will be XP based.

If the archived high scores also include "sign-up" date then frankly the "recognition" or whatever should get to every player who signedup prior to V2. Period.

I wouldn't complain if a select few top players got a 'different' recognition based on xp.

I understand there are long standing players who feel that this is slighting them and yeah I really sympathise as you can only play how much you can spare however (work are going to cut off seibertron and cut my play time by 1/2), like most things in life the rewards go to those who can put the time and effort in.

Sadly it's impossible to measure the level of enjoyment/frustration this game has give you over the time that you've been playing, which would be the only true and utterly fair way to base the recognition. XP does have the advantage of being easily measurable.

i dont mind giving elitism to a few select players, as long as it does not breed arrogance. at the first sign of "well in v1 i woulda kicked your ass", i shall personally enlist all the newbies come july 4th onwards and go wild.

So, as the arguement goes on, I got an idea:
There could be a badge-sytem, with two main things that decide the badge:
1. The color of the badge: It could be bronze, silver, or gold, depending on the years played in HMW (bronze: 0-1, silver: 1-2, gold: 2++).
2. The badge, mainly would be "V"-s (I don't know how this are called in military), the number of "V"-s depending on the Xp of the teams (or first chars) Xp.
