If you want one that's a box truck, and aren't going to use the Masterpiece one, and you want something that actually transforms, there are extremely few options that are even sort of big. Outside of the actual G1 toy, the larger sized, G1 inspired, box truck alt mode Primes aren't so great.WF72 wrote:I'm making a stop motion and i want a G1 prime.
What's the best one?
Besides Masterpiece.
Optimum Supreme wrote:The Combiner Wars Optimus isn't bad, it's reasonably big for flat front truck non-masterpiece Primes, and you might still run across it in stores. If you require a trailer, well, then your options are going to be really limited.
Obviously nothing will be as G1 like as the actual G1 toy, and it's been reissued and rereleased a bunch of times, so "Just use the G1 one" isn't bad advice. Only real thing is if the short smokestacks would bother you. They bother the crap out of me, but maybe you're different.

To which I say Epic Optimus Prime!

You know, for a stop motion video, I think the CW Voyager Optimus is the best thing to get. He scales well with other toys and has the G1 theme as well as the necessary articulation for a stop motion video (which the G1 doesnt have). And he is less expensive than the classics version. I am thinking not going the masterpiece route means there is a budget involved and thus Combiner Wars Optimus is the best option.

Is it harder than G1, because that is the best other option suggested so far. The person is looking for a transforming prime and on a budget (and they already have the G1 figure).
