BW Megs is my most favorite Megs, he is such a smart and charming evil guy in the same time.

Why not Starscream the better leader? Ha Ha Ha... Because my Megs will not even let Starscream to do it success even SS took many chance and did some. Poor Starscream, But Starscream is one of a good match to Megatron's opponent
in my view.

But he's a bit of nutcase. No brains, just muscles.

Quite agreed.
Movie Megs just portrayed short term of his commander and
he just jump to fight at the final battle and ....
So Megs had no enough time to go more descript as more complex and depth character.

Starscream is wiser to stay and attack from the air. He transforms, attack, and transforms again. A true Transformer. He goes down to the ground for a closer combat, and takes off if things don't go so well.

Skillful.

(I wish Ironhide would do the same, transform, attack, transform, give Sam a ride, tranform, protect. Instead of just running beside him, and almost stepping on the crying lady.)

Megatron just punches himself into buildings just to run after a boy. And didn't even catch him! Then stayed at the center of firing missiles. Running amok. Throwing Prime just about anywhere. But not even attempting to harm him where it could really hurt.

Very powerful. But is he a leader?

We all knew Megatron as cunning, with gears always spinning in his head.

This NEW Megatron character really annoys me.

They empasized Megatron's brute force a LOT and not much of his cunning. They made him a lot more powerful but they could have made him a bit 'smarter'.

That why Starscream is the one best as Meg's troop.

I hope other Transformers, both Autobots and Decepticons, will do more of the Starscream thing in the next Movie.

Transforming back and forth several times while in action and on the move.

If Starscream becomes leader, more Decepticons will learn from him and do that sweet skillful manuever.

Hail Starscream! Till all are one!

uh.. er... Got mixed up there somewhere.

There seemed to be some as-yet-unexplored backstory to the contrast between Megatron, Optimus, and the other Autobots. As tough as Blackout and especially Brawl were, the 'bots were still willing to gang up to take them on, but their response to Megs was immediate, unquestioned retreat. I'd say he's on a par with any prior version, and the movie only scratched the surface.

Movie megs

Was just pure evil, i guess no tactics were used cos they had him frozen for years and he was just p'eed. The fact that even when he fell to the ground he still had time to flick away a human was funny, but shows how evil he was.

Also the way he dealt with Jazz, wasn't satisfied with knocking him out at street level, had to fly him up for some cold blooded action!!

If Megs dealt with other Autobots one by one, the way he handled Jazz, Megs is all it takes to wipe out all the Autobots.

Autobots are lacking in one very important capability, FLIGHT. If Megs will pick them up one by one, and bring them to the top of skyscrapers, or somewhere far and high, the Autobots will be vanquished!

that TF quiz is awesome. I ended with 'Red Alert' even though i'm A3. Galvatron was unpredictable and 10x more ruthless than Megatron. I guess that would make him more dangerous, not necessarily more powerful. I got it - Megatron has to fight himself..err Galvatron. Kind of like Link fighting Dark Link (TLOZ -Ocarina).

Sorry, but to me, the vote still goes to classic Megatron.

Fusion Cannon.... draws power from a black hole...

Was once powered by Anti-Matter Energon...

At one time was able to wield the powers of ALL the other decepticons...

Was single-handedly responsible for the most harrowing on screen animated death since Bambis Mom...

I rest my case.

Oh, and kudos to those who mentioned the g2 reformat.

I would have to say that the most powerful version was the War Within version of G1 Megatron. All of G1 Megatron's power without the psitol mode, and instead a Cybertronian tank mode with three cannons. He also murdered a Prime.

ditto. not to sound "geewuner"-like (gosh i hate the term), but the animated G1 megatron was jsut a foretaste of his massive potential, as explored in the marvel TF comics. G1 megs takes the cake.

Generation one fan, or more specifically a fan who grew up watching the original show back in the 80's and collected the original TF line, a.k.a. the G1 line. hence "gee-wun".

but recently it has taken on a negative connotation after being used or referring to G1 fans who are so stuck up with anything that even slightly tarnishes or contradicts with their memories of the G1 series (cartoon and toy line). 8)

to stay on topic, as an answer to vectorA3's questions:

1. fusion cannon is megs; galvatron's was particle accelerator cannon i think.

2. megs' fusion cannon becomes anti-matter cannon only if it taps into black holes for energy (black holes apparently contain antimatter in the G1 continuity).

though honestly i really don't know what's the big difference between the two; both seem to perform the same function in the G1 animated series.

G1 Megs hands down. He was the ulitmate evil. Only drawback was that he always said at the end of the battle "Decepticons retreat!" NUMPTY!
BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

AT least much wiser than Movie Megatron who charged head on, with no strategy or tactic whatsoever, into his doom.

I wasn't speaking so much on his fusion cannon's ability to draw power from a black hole, as I was when he was powered by the antimatter energon in the episode "roll for it"

...at least I think it was "roll for it"

And besides, all the powers of the other decepticons in "heavy metal war" speaks for itself.

And I'm a proud "GeeWunner"
