I feel your pain.

I've got like 16 transformers to buy, each at £15 and over; and the longer I wait the higher their prices get!

It sucks not having a job.

But to get a job where I live, you have to be part of the 'family'- the whole town is basically related to each other! Talk about incest...

I know I totally feel your pain!!!!

Wal-mart's, Targets, Toys R Us, and K-marts in the area I'm in here in VA are sold out of almost all deluxe Movie Transformers, Voyagers, and Leader class!!! There are no classics on the shelves for clearence.. nothing!!! Just FABs and Real Gears!!

Now there are no GiJoe 25th anniversary figures around either, though I bought almost all 5, I missed out on Flint..

Next Payday I'm getting the Boxed sets..!! whoo hoo!! look on the back of the packaging and you'll see a sillouette of Serpentor!! I can't wait to pose them with my MP Megatron!!!

1986 is Back again!!!

QFT! They are coming out of the wordwork of late and showing their true colours! Great to see so many new users on Seibertron.com!

do you collect transformers based on their sizes or its cool factors? well i don't consider myself a hardcore fan who absolutely must have everything to be a completist. i just collect the ones i like best or the characters i known and grew up with. i like prime very much, maybe i might devote my entire collection just on him if i have the necessary money. i like smokescreen or prowl, because those were the ones i had since childhood. finally megatron he's one of my favorites, but i think i have to skip mp-05 this time, because i'm pretty positive and bet that takara will re-release mp-megatron with better mold and extra accessories sometimes in the future after mp-05 is completely sold out and out of production.

I have most of the chibis, four die-cast ones (those little guys), and Barricade and movie Bumblebee (70-whatever it is). I ALMOST bought leader-class Megs yesterday, but I wasn't sure I wanted to spend 50 bucks on it. I am definitely planning on getting more.

I have 34 and have been collecting since 2004. Limited purchases to Alternators/Binaltech, Masterpiece, A few G 1 reissues and a classic here and there. But as many say, size isn't a factor. A collection of 3 or 4 is probably equally loved as a collection of 1,000.

For sure! I'm much happier buying the stuff I want and think looks the best. Everything I have is a G1 character or G1-related. The Masterpieces, the Classics, the G1 reissues. I have more money to spend on the pieces i feel are the best, instead of buying every little crappy design or repaint that comes out. I still have had no desire to buy any of the movie toys, even though i think some of them look great. I do plan on adding that 08 BB when i see him. And an animated Starscream.

Quality over quantity. I now buy only what i REALLY want, as i used to collect games and i had some real turds just because i wanted more games. Even if i didnt actually want the game id buy it just so it made my collection larger. I have since sold those games and now have a smaller but better collection.

The same goes for my TF's now as i have learnt my lesson.

Even though i only have 28 i love em like they are a collection 100x that size. Infact i think if i had such a huge collection i wouldnt love them AS MUCH because you would just take them for granted by that point. They would all become just a huge blur of color and you wouldnt be able to enjoy them as much i dont think. At least not from pics i have seen of people with huge collections of 800+ toys.

QFT! it doesn't matter how small or large your collection is, its how you treat them that matters most. i mean, it would be quite foolish to have a bajillion TFs and not even have the time or motivation to properly care for them.

You can see my collection size in my sig. Not too big, but I just started about two weeks ago. I'm trying to slow down buying them now so I don't buy them just to buy them. It's hard to keep myself from buying a new TF EVERY day. The addiction has spread throughout my entire body. lol.

I just buy what I really like and want. Too bad there are a lot I like and want, lol.

All for $23.83 + $12.95 shipping = Total $36.78
Just got this off eBay, hopefully it's not a bad deal.

My collection is tiny compared to most people here, but I really try my best to take care of them. I've customized them to make them uniquely mine, keep them on a shelf, etc. etc.

I don't want to be addicted, although I'd happily spend money on a new TF everyday if there were good ones. It's just that it's meant to be a hobby and not an obsessive obligation. The worryers about 08 bumble recently have unrested me a little.

Heck, I'm trying to build an Autobot force, it's almost SILLY not to have 08 Bumblebee, but im gonna wait patiently until it comes out for real.

I thought I was going to "win" the thread with 15 (that's including a Go-Bot, the only transforming robot I owned during my childhood; double that number if bootlegs count  ), but I really like the sentiments that have been voiced about the personal value of the collection being more important than quantity.
