Why did the All Spark energy cause

Postby balefried » Fri Jul 06, 2007 5:37 pm

all the things it hit - like the vending machine - to turn into nasty machines? It seems they turned all into decepticons.... Why were no new autobots created?

Thoughts please

Welcome to Seibertron!

No offense, but this is like the fourth or fifth thread about this exact same question in the last 48 hours. Just as a friendly heads up, for future reference, it might be a good idea to look through some of the recent posts to see if your question has been discussed before starting a new thread. And once again, here are my thoughts:

Best, and most feasible answer.

Not only that, but at Botcon, during one of the panels with the writers (I think it was the second panel, but I could be wrong), they said that this is in fact the correct reason.

Case closed.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. The new creations, even the cell phone, seemed violent. Why is the default setting for new TF's set to "bad"? The cube creates life, that's about all I know of it.

I know, i know, but as its a first post, and i havent browsed thru this place at all, so i thought this would be faster. Thanks.

Also, even if the reverse-engineered tech caused the cell ph to become a decepticon, which i could handle, since it came from Megatron, why then would the same happen for energy shot directly from the cube itself?

It's because the cell phone, the X-Box, and the Mountain Dew vending machine were all reverse engineered from Megatron. There was a bit in the movie where the Sector Seven guys explained that just about every invention of the modern age, from microchips to lasers to automobiles, were all reverse engineered from studying Megatron. So the problem isn't the cube's energy itself, rather the problem is the, for lack of a better term, genetically evil and violent machines that the cube animated.

I'd like to see a link to that explanation. I still think it's because they are new & scared, like newborns (at least until I see the explanation myself).

Besides, the TFs are supposed to be sentient life, and sentient life isn't born good or evil (Megatron included). I would be completely disappointed in the storyline if this was the case.

...not to mention that the "evilness" is a personality trait, part of his spark, or spirit, etc., and NOT in the physical construction of his being.

Ugh.

I want to email the writers now.

Maybe Megatron has some sort of genetic disposition toward aggression and violent behavior. Or perhaps giant alien robot genetics just work a bit differently.

Or maybe they did use part of Megatron's soul to make Earth's machines, which might leave the door open for a way to bring him back in the next movie.

So, it's ALL technology? What about things from before his discovery, like Model Ts & stuff? What about something basic like a watch or clock? What about technology created or invented from scratch on the other side of the world, or in isolation, away from any western influence? If you build something from scratch, how does his "influence" get into the machine?

I just don't see how every single machine in existence would be "reverse engineered" from him, when most of the technology we use has its roots in items in existence before his discovery - cars, radios, vending machines, etc.

I just need details!! :P

Well, I believe that they meant that they made important new parts that are used in most things today by reverse engineering Megatron's tech.

I understand the fact of if a new form of live or conscience is created from scratch, it could seem violent, by the fact that it needs to be educated and/or domesticated, like an animal is just born, as an instinct of survival.

For example, a just build up TF would need a basic sofware to run, and to get some kind of "artificial-conscience" to evolve would need some kind of experiences and "education"...

I preferred the traditional way of the TF's something should be built by a predecesor...
