SlyTF1 wrote:I'd get angry about it. I mean, we've seen it all before. The same story, the same designs, we'd know what happens. G1 is kind of short on explosions. It's just robots standing behind cover shooting. We got that in ROTF in the "precious cargo scene" and I thought that scene was freaking awesome. So, maybe it could work, but I don't want to see that all the time for 4 movies straight.

I'm a huge movie fan, but I wouldn't mind at all, just don't think it'd work.

But that is what I want to know......Why would it not work?
We're talking a fantasy universe of giant lumbering robots that talk, and are alive... Yet that's not beyond what people can accept? Strange.

Something about the block look and human faces, just to me, doesn't seem like it'd go right in real life. Though there's probably other ways they could adapt, I think they would end up similar to the movies or WFC in the final look.

Zombie Starscream wrote:I wouldn't mind a G1 type movie, as long as they tweeked it a little...
For example, I did a drawing of G1 Starscream a few years ago. I based him off of his Masterpiece design, but I wanted to make him look 'differant.'
Instead of making him look blocky, I drew him such that he had a body made of metal bones and tubes with metallic 'skin' stretched over some places. He has the normal wings, head and other Seeker features, but they are made to look like a part of a metal-based life form, a living robot. A robot that was 'grown' for war. If you brushed your hand against him while he was in jet mode, you'd be touching a part of his exoskeleton. (I wish I could show the picture, but I don't have a scanner at the moment.)
The idea would be G1, but hard-tweeked. Know what I mean?
Yes. If I am lucky, the local library might have a scanner. If not, then I might have to show the close-up pictures that I tried to take with a camera. I signed up onto DeviantArt, but I don't have anything on it yet. PM me if you are interested.Red 50 wrote:Zombie Starscream wrote:I wouldn't mind a G1 type movie, as long as they tweeked it a little...

Do you still have that picture?
RetroRocker wrote:I would love it if a G1 styled live action movie were made, written with someone who's actually familiar with the G1 universe, its storylines, characterisatons and all that, and actually wanted to write a screenplay about the cybertronians rather than the humans that get caught in the crossfire.
But sadly seeing as none of the above is likely to happen at all ever I'd rather not think too hard about it as it would be a bit masocistic, heh.
Although, having said that, maybe once Bay has finished fething it all up on the big screen someone else will come along and do a big reboot movie that will garner critical acclaim in much the same way as 'Batman Begins' did for the Batman franchise....
....nah.

I think a live action 86 movie would stink, but that's because someone mentioned a 3D CGI version of the 86 movie, and now I want that. And I'm not even a fan of 3D movies, but 86 in the third dimension? Sign me up.
