I dont know if you blokes know this but you can stream video files from your PC to your 360 wirelessly However until today you could only play those .wmv files. I dont know about you but my por-- I mean movies come in all types of files avi. mkv. and a few other well it looks like Billy Moneybags listed up and now we can see "MOST" of our video files on the 360.

Just use winamp remote, it will stream any file format(haven't tried .mkv container but should work) to the 360 and it does play. The files are decoded on the pc and streamed to the xbox, This causes some minor problems depending on your setup such as low frame rate(not very often) and the inability to fast forward, you might also have to reset the xbox when your finished as sometimes it wont come back out of the file.

There are no new formats that can be streamed to an xbox through the way microsoft wants you to(media centre), but you can now play divx files off of discs and portable devicess(FAT32 format only

So if I have video on a flash drive, my 360 should now be able to play it?

Yup, doing it with a divx copy of Heroes 211 on my usb key at the moment.

You dont need a Windows Media PC you just have to Downlopad a patch I think caled Windows Conect then go to the Windows media Player and setup your 360 as a Shared Device and then selecte folders or drives that can viewed I've been doing it for the greater part of a year and as of today now I can actually view Avi. and other files I was Using Tversity for a while and I was running into the same problem you where talking about but now with the new update I dont have to use any other software app.

Yeah, it's great. lots of video files for me. I have had so many on my comp that I was wanting to watch on my TV, & now I don't have to burn DVDs any more.
