Recently I got my claws on a King Grimlock and I can't get over what a phenomenal TF he is. The box is just stellar and I normally toss out boxes/packages unless it's vintage G1 but this one ain't going no where and will be treated like fine china!

So after removing him from the box I enjoyed the transformation no doubt. The only other opened MP I have is Hasbro Anniversary OP. I have Hasbro Rodimus MISP and I did have Hasbro MISP Grimlock which I parted ways with. I obviously don't have many MP figures where Grimlock would fit nicely which is why it makes more sense to me that he be among classics/generations TFs. I don't plan on transforming him to robot mode anytime soon and he looks great in alt-mode with legends Wheelie riding high.

I don't have FOC Grimlock yet, I'm waiting for Takara's version to arrive. When that happens I'll have to give him a try into the classics/generations fold. Until then King Grimlock will reign supreme and is my favorite MP.

So how about your MP Grimlock, is he in alt-mode or robot mode? Do you keep him with other MP figs or elsewhere? Is he posed solo perhaps or maybe he's your all time fav TF and you have a shrine of Grimlocks with MP in center? What say you?

Im still waiting for a kind soul to sell his MP Grimlock at a decent price. Which is kinda and at this point.

I have a MP Grimlock, but I am looking for a MP08-X. If i get 1, I'll be selling the 1 i have now.

I would love an MP Grimlock.
Hasbro, Takara MP-08 or MP-08X, I don't really mind.

It would be the only Masterpiece in my collection, unless I decide that Soundwave is more worthy of the spot.

Mines with my classics i finally decided to put all my graphic novels and comics in my wardrobe so i can actually display some of my transformers in the book case i have my grimlock in dino mode he looks great with the deluxe and voyager figures i think robot mode is too tall.

My MP-8 is displayed the only way it should be - in T-Rex mode with his apron, bowtie, and drink tray.

Mine is in robot mode, with sword out, gun up, and crown on. Like a Boss.

I have no other MPs, I had MP-09, but I gave it away as a birthday gift. I am also thinking of getting Soundwave, he looks pretty cool. All the other MPs so far have been mediocre (for me) at best.

I have the Takara version. He stands next to MP Prime and MP Hotrod. I have them in bot mode with the G1 versions in front of them in alt mode.

I have the Hasbro version and he is the only MP I have. Most of the time he is in dino mode but he is fun transforming from time to time.

I have the Takara version, in robot mode with weapons, among my Classics. Then again, for proportion reasons, I have MP-10 among my Classic Autobots, standing next to Classics Magnus in the City Commander armor, so the Autobots all look like they're in scale to the old cartoon.

That's a cool way to have them displayed. I will have to remember that.

I do think of all the MP line Grimlock is a must own. It should be on most fans TF bucket list.


Is there any recent news on the possible or confirmed re-release of MP Grimlock?

I love my MPGrimmy. I've had mine displayed in both modes over time and I find both equally excellent. Right now mine is in Dino mode surrounded by my G1 dinobots. I even have Swoop on a stand so he's airborne.

Soundwave is better - WAY more poseable. He can do everything Grimlock can do and much more. Let's not forget Grimlock's terrible hands.



This pic is very out of date as I have all of the MP molds together. Grimlock is currently in robot mode with both weapons. Sometimes he's displayed in dino mode, with or without drinks tray, but mostly in robot mode with the rest of the post-MP01s.

My Grim is in dino mode right now, with Spider Man riding on his neck. Yee haw!

Mine is the Hasbro version. Although, while it wouldn't have been worth the difference in cost to me, I do really wish I had the accessories from the Takara version... Stupid Hasbro, don't you know that bowties are cool?

Mines in bot brandishing both weapons, stood next to MP02 and Altenators Rodimus.

I have both versions, my Hasbro one is with my classics and the Takara one is with other Grimlock toys (Action Master, Alternator, SCV PVC, etc..).

I love my Takara Grimmy, he is in robot mode with all my other masterpieces. and for those of you who have yet to own a masterpiece, shame on you, these figures are great.

I can't speak for others, but in my case I simply cannot afford it.

I am full time doctorate student, yes I'm funded, but that's enough to live on for a month, and I have to travel to visit my girlfriend who lives five hours away from me (train), and my family, who live in Italy. I do not have a steady income other than the studentship, and the collecting hobby is expensive as it is. I pay my own bills, rent, look after my bicycle and travel to conferences, talks and symposia, in order to get a job in academia once I've finished this part of my research - which also involves buying a lot of books. Plus, this is the first time since I moved to the UK that I'm going to be in the same house/flat for more than one year, meaning I haven't had the chance to settle anywhere, really, and that includes limiting the amount of personal belongings for moving.

I'm sure you didn't mean it in a nasty way, but I wanted to make it clear that not all collectors can dive into new or old figures headfirst. I would love to own a Masterpiece at some point, but I haven't been able to afford their price so far.


So, bring on TRU Soundwave, and I'll give it more thought.

well the money thing i can understand... and i in no way meant to seem or be mean. I hope all collectors have good fortune so we can embrace our passions.

I empathize with you Va'al. Though having a steady job in supervisory post but money is indeed scarce. Have to prioritize on TFs too.

I own a MP-08, but got it cheap because his box was in a sh*tty position hence the reduced price. Had to skip on some MPs like Rodimus, Lambor and Alert and had to live on Scooby snacks for two months when I got MP-10 and MP-13/16/17..........

If opportunity will grant you, try getting one, given the position you are in, the Hasbro version will do (it is cheaper I think) but once you get a steady job.......why not make him your holy grail? Scrimp on the recent releases and target him in the future............good hunting!

Yes, that is the plan! Grimlock is still in my distant future, and as I said, I will consider Soundwave once it hits TRU. Stopped by mine today and they still have 9 Optimus Primes just shelfwarming, so I'm hoping the same will happen later (doubtful, but still hoping).

I keep mine in robot mode so I can have him displayed with all his accessories.
